Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Both spending and tax policies have been implemented in the United States with the goal of stimulating private sector research and development (R&D). Karier questions whether current R&D policy, especially the research and experimentation tax credit, can contribute to closing the gap between nondefense expenditures on R&D in the United States and such expenditures in other countries, such as Japan and Germany. He also explores possible changes to our current R&D policy to make it more effective.
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. This study aims to determine the extent of the effect of the use of flour
shrimp waste (TLU) with filtrate water treatment husk ash (FAAS) and
fermentation of EM-4 in the ration on body weight gain, feed intake and feed
conversion peking duck. The design used was completely randomized design with
5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment consists of P0 (0% shrimp meal,
10% fish meal), P1 (2.5% flour shrimp, fish meal 7.5%), P2 (5% shrimps flour,
5% fish meal), P3 (7, 5% shrimp meal, fish meal 2.5%), P4 (10% flour shrimp,
0% fish meal). Parameters studied were feed consumption, body weight gain and
feed conversion.
The results showed the average consumption (g / head / week) P0; 158.77,
P1; 157.33, P2; 157.95, P3; P4 151.54; 149.34. Mean body weight gain (g / bird /
day) P0; 202.91, P1; 198.71, P2; 196.78, P3; P4 197.92; 200.88. The average feed
conversion P0; 2.03, P1; 1.99, P2; 1.94, P3; 1.94 and P4; 1.90. ANOVA results
showed that the treatment was not significant effect on feed intake, body weight
gain and feed conversion (P> 0.05). Kesimpulanya is that the shrimp waste flour

This study aims to determine the relationship between Starter body weight
Selection (1 week) on egg production, first laying age, and first egg weight. This
study was held in CV. PTB Poultry Farm in the village of Sei Limbat, District
Selesai, Langkat Regency in April to August 2014. This study used 200 DOC with
initial weight of 39.33+2,63g. Selection is done by weighing 200 Starter (1 week)
with the requirement of 10 highest weight from 200 Starter (1 week) that has
calculated with the mean and standard deviation as a selection criterion with the
weight of 78.5+1,43g as many as 100 selected and 100 non-selected for
comparison.
The results showed that the selection of starter (1 week) body weight to
first egg weight has the highest value in the correlation value (r = 0.722) and the
regression value (R=0.722). While the non-selection of starter (1 week) body
weight to first egg weight has the highest value on correlation value (r = -0.357)
and the regression value (R2=0.357).
The conclusion of this study is if the starter (1 week) body weight in
selected chicken increases, the first egg weight will increase by 72%. Meanwhile,
if the starter (1 week) body weight in non-selected chicken increased, the first egg

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods

This study aims to determine the complete feed byproduct utilization of
cassava clones on carcass weight and carcass weight of non- local male sheep
weaning. The experiment was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Biology
Animal Husbandry Program Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra
in September to December 2013 using 12 local male lambs with an average
weaning weight of 7.75 ± 1.75 kg. The design used in the study was a completely
randomized design ( CRD ) with 3 treatments and 4 replications. Treatment
consists of P1 : 100 % forage feeding, P2 : feeding forage complete 50 % + 50 %,
P3 : peberian 100 % complete feed. The parameters studied were carcass weight,
carcass percentage, fat percentage, carcass weight and percentage of non non
carcass .
The results showed the average carcass weight ( g , ) P1 : 3161 , P2 : 3826
