Social mining for terroristic behavior detection through Arabic tweets characterization
In the latest years, the use of social media has increased dramatically. Content, as well as media, are shared in Big Data volumes and this poses a critical requirement for the behavior supervision and fraud protection. The detection of terrorist behavior in the social media is essential to every country, but has complexities in both the supervision of shared content and in the understanding of behavior. Therefore, in this project an artificial intelligence enabled Detection Terrorist behavior system (ALT-TERROS) as a key priority was developed. The key requirements for a terrorist behavior detection system operating in the Kingdom are: (i) Data integration, (ii) Advanced smart analysis capacity and (iii) Decision making capability. The unique value proposition is based on a sophisticated integrated approach to the management of distributed data available on social media, which uses advanced social mining methods for the detection of patterns of terrorist behavior, its visualization and use for decision making. In addition, several critical issues related to the availability of APIs to handle Arabic text as well as the need to provide an end-to-end workflow from the extraction of textual and visual data over social media to the deliverable of advanced analytics and visualizations for rating mechanisms were highlighted. The key contribution of our approach is a testbed for the application of novel scientific approaches and algorithms for the rating of harm associated to social media content. The complexity of the problem does not allow hyper-optimistic solutions, but the combination of heuristic rules and advanced decision-making capabilities is toward the right direction. We contribute to the body of the theory of Sentiment Analysis for Arabic content and we also summarize a heuristic algorithm developed for the future. In the future research directions, we emphasize on the need to develop trusted Arabic thesaurus and corpus for the use sentiment analysis
Improving the Operating System Resource Management by Processes Simulation
Abstract — Multiprocessing systems are in focus for every high performance processor family. With multiprocessing comes the problem of scheduling which we have tried to address in this paper. In this paper, we have explained the resources and processes simulation that we have designed to optimize the process scheduling task of operating systems. This explains how to model and simulate a system to evaluate its performance and utilization and then analysing the results to go for the improvements in the real system. We have taken three independent processes and five resources which consist of one or more instances, for our experiment and evaluation task. This paper presents the implementation done in the C language provides option for the work to be adapted for modeling and simulation of any other scheduling tasks that need to be performed by the OS. Then a proper set of results can be interpreted for target system improvements
Evaluation of hydrogen fuel cell-based systematic vehicular application to promote the green economy using LabVIEW
Background: This research work aims to create, develop, and evaluate the Hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) model in LabVIEW targeting vehicular applications. Global warming, colonization, and unexpected bursts in population have led to the formation of problems due to the augmented utilization of Petrochemical substances and have impacted our way of living. To meet the urbanization need, energy is being produced at such a large scale that has never been produced in the entire human history. Excess usage of fossil fuels, coal, and other Petrochemical substances for energy generation has influenced the environment and as a result, hazardous and toxic compounds (carbonic gases) started to emerge in the air and affected the ozone layer surrounding the earth. HFC's operated vehicles are a possible way of conventional energy production and can power up electronics in our industries and vehicles. Results: For this, LabVIEW VI simulation targeting the mini-car model is created using the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (HFCEV) formulas and strategic design equations. Through LabVIEW simulation, two study cases (one at a constant temperature while others at static fuel pressure) are made to assess the feasibility and performance of the HFC for vehicular application. The result indicates the disparity in performance (in the form of a relationship) of the vehicle by varying the temperature and concentration of fuel contents in the HFC. Conclusions: The benefits of the research work include obtaining prior information about the HFCEV parameters
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
