EVALUASI STATUS TAKSONOMI GENUS Geocharis (K.Schum.) Ridl. (ZINGIBERACEAE) DI SUMATERA MENGGUNAKAN KARAKTER MORFOLOGI DAN MOLEKULER (ITS dan matK)
Geocharis is a small genus in the Zingiberaceae family, consisting of 6 species in the world. Geocharis has a high level of flower and fruit variety. Also, the type of Geocharis rubra is a complex species, where the species delimitation in this species is not clear. Thus, it is necessary to evaluate the status by observing the morphological and molecular characters in this genus to strengthen and support the true identity of the species contained in the genus Geocharis. Kinship uses ITS and matK to see groupings between species to aid in classification. The method used in this research is a survey method and observation in the laboratory. The amplified samples were sequenced and analyzed to determine the grouping between species. The morphological characters that contributed to the classification of the genus Geocharis were the shape of the ligule, the direction of growth inflorescences, length of inflorescences, the arrangement of the flower buds, the cross-sectional shape of the ovary, the surface of the ovary, the shape of the fruit and fruit ornaments. Genus Geocharis include ITS sequence length 647- 730 bp, matK 1001-1057 bp, conservative character ITS 511% and matK 954%, informative characters on ITS markers 5% and matK 3%, matK has lower informative characters than ITS marker. The results of the evaluation of the taxonomic status of the Geocharis resulted in 6 types of Geocharis, namely G. macrostemon, G.aurantiaca, G.rubra, G.radicalis, Geocharis sp1 and Geocharis sp2. Two of them Geocharis sp1 (Rimbo Panti) and Geocharis sp2 (Andaleh) were proposed to be new taxa in the genus Geocharis.

STUDI TAKSONOMI Geocharis (K.Schum.) Ridl. (ZINGIBERACEAE) DI SUMATERA BARAT
Genus Geocharis termasuk genus terkecil dalam famili Zingiberaceae, tersebar 6 jenis didunia. Berdasarkan informasi awal ditemukan 2 jenis Geocharis yang terdapat di Sumatera dan salah satu lokasinya merupakan lokasi type Geocharis macrostemon yaitu Ajer Mantjoer (Lembah Anai), Tanah Datar, Sumatera Barat. Survei Lapangan Herbarium pada pertengahan tahun 2020 menemukan tumbuhan yang memiliki karakter seperti Geocharis, sementara itu studi Herbarium ANDA terdapat 28 sheet spesimen yang belum teridentifikasi dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis Geocharis serta mengungkap karakter morfologi yang berkontribusi dalam klasifikasi taksonomi jenis Geocharis. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode survei dengan cara eksplorasi dan koleksi langsung dilapangan. Identifikasi dilakukan di Herbarium Universitas Andalas (ANDA). Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi di Herbarium ANDA ditemukan 4 jenis Geocharis yaitu Geocharis aurantiaca, Geocharis rubra, Geocharis macrostemon dan Geocharis sp. Geocharis aurantiaca dan Geocharis rubra merupakan species new record di Sumatera, serta Geocharis sp diasumsikan new species dari genus Geocharis.

A recircumscription of Geocharis (Zingiberaceae) as a result of the discovery of a new species in Sumatra, Indonesia
Recent fieldwork conducted in Sumatra resulted in unusual collections of the conspicuous ginger genus Geocharis, a genus that harbours a total of six species distributed in Sumatra, the Malay Peninsula, Borneo and the Philippines. After carefully reviewing types and protologues of existing taxa, we conclude that the recent collections represent a new species described here as Geocharis globosa, which is similar to G. aurantiaca, G. rubra and G. radicalis by the flowers spreading evenly in all directions but differs from these by the less divided labellum and by the unstructured and smooth globose fruits. We provide a detailed description and a photographic plate as well as a preliminary Red List Assessment for the new species. With the new species added to Geocharis macrostemon and G. radicalis, the number of species in Sumatra hereby increases to three. A recircumscription of the genus is provided, taking into account the unusual fruit character of the new species
Kekayaan Jenis Tumbuhan Berbunga pada Area Geopark Silokek, Sijunjung, Sumatera Barat.
Penelitian ini menginformasikan keanekaragaman hayati tumbuhan berbunga di Geopark Silokek, Sumatera Barat, sebuah kawasan karst yang unik. Survei lapangan dengan cara jelajah dilakukan untuk menginventarisasi spesies tumbuhan berbunga dan mengevaluasi status kelangkaan dan konservasi serta kekhasan ekologis mereka. Hasilnya menunjukkan keberadaan 164 spesies tumbuhan berbunga dalam 121 genus dan 55 famili. Famili Moraceae dan Gesneriaceae merupakan famili dengan jenis terbanyak. Enam spesies diantaranya termasuk penting dari segi taksonomi dan konservasi, dengan status rentan terhadap kepunahan dan juga endemik di Sumatera antara lain Quercus oidocarpa, Vanda sumatrana dan Zingiber macradenium. Selain itu, tujuh jenis lain merupakan tumbuhan indikator kawasan karst antara lain Impatiens tribuana, Paraboea treubii dan Monophyllaea horsfeldii
