MENEMBUS DINDING PATRIARKI (Analisis Data Sekunder terhadap Perolehan Suara Calon Anggota Legislatif Perempuan di Kabupaten Banyumas pada Pemilu 2009 )
The 2009 general election was the first election in which women candidates have to compete freely and very hard with men candidates. This is as a consequence of the Decision of the Constitutional Court No. 22 -24 / PUU -VI / 2008, which establishes the candidates elected by a majority vote. This study examines the implications of the Decision of the Constitutional Court against the vote of women candidates. The study was conducted in Banyumas by using descriptive survey based on secondary data published by the National Election Commission (KPU) Banyumas. The study focused on the nine winners of the 2009 elections political parties include the Partai Hanura, Partai Gerindra, PKS, PAN, PKB, PPP, PDI-P, Partai Golkar, and Partai Demokrat. The results showed that not all political parties implement 30 percent quota for women candidates, but in general they respond well. Only three political parties winning the 2009 general election who consistently apply the 30 percent quota in each electoral district, namely Partai Hanura, PAN, and PPP. In general, women candidates are placed on the lower numbers while the positions have a positive correlation with the vote. Vote achieved by women candidates in general under the vote of men candidates
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
Women of Peripheral Javanese Tradition: A Nearly-Forgotten Inspiration
This study aims to identify the women’s contribution to the development of a peripheral Javanese community, Bagalen. This research is vital due to relatively scarce information about women’s contribution in this area. So far, knowledge of community development is predominantly occupied by men or noblewomen. Library research develops this study. Hence, the authors collect data via research books and theoretical construction that are derived from relevant historical documents. The results reveal that peripheral Javanese women instead of central Javanese significantly contribute to preserving tradition and religion. In the past, the area was once led by a woman, namely Nyai Bagelen. However, the existence of women’s leadership in the past didn’t inspire the progress of women today. Then, the contribution of Bagelen women in preserving dolalak dance, upholding religious verses through Islamic verses and songs, is almost acknowledged by the public as a woman’s effort in standing up for tradition and upholding their religion due to the prevailing hegemony. Hence, the knowledge should provide space to prove that the women’s contribution is significant to the resources of the community so that community development is persistently inspired by its localities
Peminggiran Perempuan dalam Kuasa Kelahiran dan Perkembangan Dolalak
The oral history of the birth of dolalak dance differs from other traditional dance legends in Java, such as ronggeng, lengger or tayub. The birth of the traditional dances is related to female figures. The dolalak dance was invented by native soldiers (male) during the Dutch colonial period. This paper aims to examine  dolalak as an arena of power and the contribution of women to dolalak in the context of historical reflection. This research is a qualitative study that uses data collection techniques by interviewing, observing, and is supported by documentation studies as well as related previous research. The results of this study show that dolalak becomes the arena of power in its invention. There is a major power in interpreting the invention of dolalak, namely by soldiers (men). As for its development, the dolalak becomes an arena for power struggles that surrounds it. The dolalak is performing art. The dolalak also a medium for spreading Islam, and then the power by the state over it. The power struggles of dance operate and be practiced, from one meaning to another, until the power of state enters. It strengthens the theorization of power. It will continue as a practice of power. In this context, the contribution of women as figures preserving the dance is vulnerable to the invisible. Dolalak dance is mostly performed by female dancers and this has become an icon for people in Purworejo Regency, Central Java. Therefore, it is time for women as traditional dance preservers to be narrated and fill in public knowledge. This paper aims to examine the marginalization of women in the power of birth and the development of dolalak. Dolalak dance is a traditional art in the Bagelen region, Purworejo Regency, Central Java. This research is a qualitative study, which uses data collection techniques by interviewing, observing, and supported by documentation studies and related research results. The results of this study indicate that in the history of the birth of dolalak, the sole power in interpreting the birth of dolalak is the contribution of men. There is no effort to explore further, is it true that women did not contribute. As for its development, there is a power struggle against dolalak, namely dolalak as a medium for spreading Islam, dolalak as a performing art, then the state's power to develop dolalak. In the development of dolalak, women's contribution cannot be separated even though it does not become the dominant narrative. The implication is that special attention needs to be paid to female dolalak dancers as the party that most contributes to preserving dolalak
