Crocs Inc. - Marketing and Branding and their Effect on Sales and Consumer Buying Behavior
The aim of the study is to determine how marketing and branding strategies affects Crocs’ sales as well as to evaluate and discuss how consumer perception of Crocs influences their buying decisions. This topic was chosen as the author is someone with a long-time interest in the Crocs themselves as well as their contradicting brand reputation and reported sales figures.
The theoretical framework begins by explaining marketing and branding as well as their key concepts, such as the marketing process, brand equity, identity and image. The theory then concludes with the explanation of consumer buying behavior and the decision-making process.
To implement the aim of the research, a literary research study was conducted, which described how and why Crocs rose to success, fell, and became popular once again as well as how they surpassed their previous success, highlighting the importance of adapting marketing strategies to correctly suit the branding. A study in the form of a questionnaire was also conducted in order to gather consumer perceptions of Crocs and determine the factors that influence their purchase decisions.
The research revealed that the originality, the quality of the design, and the comfort of the product drives Croc’s success, regardless of their negative brand reputation. While they may be considered ugly, it does not stop consumers from purchasing Crocs

Angular analysis of decays with the LHCb detector
New Physics (NP) searches via transitions are powerful methods since NP contributions could cause sizeable deviations from the Standard Model (SM) predictions. Previous measurements of angular observables and branching fractions in decays show consistent deviations with respect to the SM. In this thesis, an angular analysis of decays is performed for the first time using the full Run 1 and 2 datasets collected by the LHCb experiment. The angular observables and are attempted to be measured in five bins of the dimuon invariant mass squared . This is the first attempt to write a complete angular model, including the resonance, the spin-1/2 resonance contributions, and the non-negligible interference effects between the three resonances. The measurements of in the and control modes are compatible with zero within one standard deviation, as expected. The angular observables in the non-resonant region are kept blind in the thesis. Furthermore, the and decays have been studied with Run 3 data recorded in 2022. The aim of this study is to have a first look at the data taken with the upgraded detector and to understand the electron efficiencies in Run3. The yields of secondary and have been determined for the first time with Run3 data and compared to the yields. In addition, a comparison of relevant distributions in the simulation samples and the background-subtracted data has been performed using decays
New Physics (NP) searches via b → s l⁺ l⁻ transitions are powerful methods since NP contributions could cause sizeable deviations from the Standard Model (SM) predictions. Previous measurements of angular observables and branching fractions in b → s μ⁺ μ⁻ decays show consistent deviations with respect to the SM. In this thesis, an angular analysis of Λb → Λ(1520) μ⁺ μ⁻ decays is performed for the first time using the full Run 1 and 2 datasets collected by the LHCb experiment. The angular observables AFB and S1cc are attempted to be measured in five bins of the dimuon invariant mass squared q². This is the first attempt to write a complete angular model, including the Λ(1520) resonance, the spin-1/2 Λ∗ resonance contributions and the non-negligible interference effects between the three Λ∗ resonances. The measurements of AFB in the J/Ψ and Ψ(2S) control modes are compatible with zero within one standard deviation, as expected. The angular observables in the non-resonant q² region are kept blind in the thesis. Furthermore, the B⁺ → K⁺ J/Ψ(→ e⁺ e⁻) and B⁺ → K⁺ Ψ(2S) (→ e⁺ e⁻) decays have been studied with Run 3 data recorded in 2022. The aim of this study is to have a first look at the data taken with the upgraded detector and to understand the electron efficiencies in Run 3. The yields of secondary Ψ(2S) → e⁺ e⁻ and B⁺ → K⁺ Ψ(2S) (→ e⁺ e⁻) have been determined for the first time with Run 3 data and compared to the J/Ψ yields. In addition, a comparison of relevant distribution in the simulation samples and the background-subtracted data has been performed using B⁺ → K⁺ J/Ψ(→ e⁺ e⁻) decays.

Dark Matter searches at LHCb
The LHCb detector at the LHC offers unique coverage of forward rapidities. Together with its flexible trigger, it allows efficient recording of low-mass states and displaced decay topologies. These features allow LHCb to make significant contributions to dark sector searches. Results from dark photon, dark boson and heavy neutral lepton searches will be presented alongside the potential for future measurements in these final states
