Introduction. Shortly after the discovery of X-rays, their practical application in the clinical practice became the object of interest of many non-medical individuals. One of them was the famous Serbian writer, Branislav Nusic. This paper presents the life and work of Branislav Nusic, as well as his article: ?Roentgen?s Photography? which was published in the journal ?Politics? (July 8, 1906; N? 892, p. 3), under the alias Ben Akiba, in the Cyrillic script. The life and work of Branislav Nusic. Alchiviadi Nu?a, later Branislav Nusic (1864 - 1938) was a great Serbian literate, playwright, journalist, photographer, politician, diplomat, member of the Serbian Royal Academy, President of the Association of Yugoslav Playwrights, manager of the theaters in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Skopje and Sarajevo, and a military volunteer in the Serbian - Bulgarian war (1885). ?Roentgen?s Photography?. The author wrote this text in his own way, the only way he could and knew, vividly and wittily. He knew about the great power and strength of X-ray radiation, and he wrote of his knowledge in this short story. Without Branislav Nusic, the history of Serbian radiology would be poorer for not seeing the X-rays by the eyes of an educated, intelligent and, above all, humorous writer. Conclusion. Branislav Nusic, alongside Nikola Tesla, Mihajlo Pupin Idvorski, Dr. Abraham Vinaver, and all past and present Serbian radiologists, has become an essential and memorable link in the chain of the history of the Serbian radiology.</jats:p

Studying the three components of a literary work Nine hundred fifteenth by Branislav Nušić - historical, narrative and religious - the author determines it as a historical epic novel. The retreat of the Serbian army and people trough Kosovo and Albania in 1915 caused by the invasion of the Austro-Hungarian army, which is the subject of this work, is one of the most tragic events in Serbian history. For its historical reliability, interesting and exciting storytelling, profound and multiple human messages - according to the author - this novel deserves to be ranked within the best Serbian historical novels

New Cosmological Model and Its Implications on Observational Data Interpretation

    No full text
The paradigm of ΛCDM cosmology works impressively well and with the concept of inflation it explains the universe after the time of decoupling. However there are still a few concerns; after much effort there is no detection of dark matter and there are significant problems in the theoretical description of dark energy. We will consider a variant of the cosmological spherical shell model, within FRW formalism and will compare it with the standard ΛCDM model. We will show that our new topological model satisfies cosmological principles and is consistent with all observable data, but that it may require new interpretation for some data. Considered will be constraints imposed on the model, as for instance the range for the size and allowed thickness of the shell, by the supernovae luminosity distance and CMB data. In this model propagation of the light is confined along the shell, which has as a consequence that observed CMB originated from one point or a limited space region. It allows to interpret the uniformity of the CMB without inflation scenario. In addition this removes any constraints on the uniformity of the universe at the early stage and opens a possibility that the universe was not uniform and that creation of galaxies and large structures is due to the inhomogeneities that originated in the Big Bang

Critical regionalism in the work of architect Branislav Mitrovic

In the Serbian architecture from the end of the twentieth and at the beginning of the twenty-first century, Branislav Mitrovic (1948) distinguished himself as the most successful author of the whole orientation, as opponent of globalization uniformity and widespread conservatism. Overall, his work links the ideas of late modern and critical regionalism as the direction of the world postmodern architecture. Filled with historical reminiscences and complex meanings, rarely built out of context, it has a signified significance in contemporary post-Yugoslav architecture, derived from universalist sterility. Mitrovic's critical regionalism does not possess the eclectic features of fashionable regionalism, but is based on the selection of the best historical traits of the Balkan-Mediterranean climate and their transfer to modernity. Traditional classical and folklore motifs succesfully revives with new materials, while regulating the spatial matrix on the most functional principles

Cardinality of Real Numbers and Set Axiomatization

    No full text
The cardinality of real numbers depends on the chosen axiomatic system and specific models of set theory. Under the ZF framework, real numbers are nondenumerable, but their exact cardinality remains debated due to possible extensions of the ZF axioms. We explored this issue by analyzing sets within the ZFC model and Wang's Σ\Sigma model. Set SS', within the ZFC framework, includes all pairs of algebraic numbers with a transcendental number inserted between each pair by a function ff, which inserts an arbitrarily chosen transcendental number into every interval bounded by algebraic endpoints. This approach enables the representation of any number using these intervals. By employing the AC, one can identify intervals from any Cauchy sequence within SS'. As each interval contains at least one number due to the function ff, the intersections of these intervals contain numbers defined by these sequences, making a complete and countable set SS'. The second set, created by inserting specifically defined transcendental numbers between algebraic numbers, starts with the sequence of algebraic numbers as the 0-th layer in Wang's Σ\Sigma model. A diagonal procedure applied to that layer generates a set of transcendental numbers which, combined with the 0-th layer, forms the Σ1\Sigma_1 layer. Continuing this recursive process results in a set equivalent to SS'. This suggests that all constructive real numbers are countable, challenging the traditional diagonal argument. The AC is crucial for selecting transcendental numbers and identifying intervals and sequences, making the set SS'. This might resonate with constructivists who oppose the AC. However, further analysis revealed conflicts between proofs of non-denumerability and the Nested Interval Property, indicating a need to reevaluate the countability of real numbers.Comment: Presented as an invited talk at the International Conference Constructive Mathematics Foundations and Practice (CM:FP) 2023: https://cmfp2023.masfak.ni.ac.rs/About_Conference.html, 28 page

    No full text
About 70 years ago, machines and chemistry played an important role for human beings. That was the realization of harmonious life between man and machine. Now, the theme is realization of harmonious life between man and environment. We can witness irregularities regarding proper nourishment of population which affects the health and well-being of people in the world. Highly developed countries have problems in the area of rational consumption and health safety of food. In this paper authors analyze the actual condition of the problems concerning organic production in the world and EU. Also, they focus their attention on ecomarketing mix. Low wages and increased cost of living have contributed to continuous negative trends regarding nourishment in Serbia. Authors analyze market chances and barriers in Serbia in accordance with organic production. This paper will provide theoretical and practical contribution for those responsible to carry out adequate actions to improve organic production in Serbia
