Lourdesiella Bernabé, Huertas & Vives, new genus of the family Stathmopodidae and description of the species Lourdesiella falcatum Bernabé, Huertas & Vives, sp. nov. in the Iberian Peninsula (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea)
The monospecific genus Lourdesiella Bernabé, Huertas & Vives, gen. nov. (Stathmopodidae), and the species Lourdesiella falcatum Bernabé, Huertas & Vives, sp. nov. (Stathmopodidae) are described. Analysis of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I (COI) gene, DNA barcode for the new species, is performed. Data on its biology are given.Se describen el género monoespecífico Lourdesiella Bernabé, Huertas & Vives, gen. nov. A Hull and White formula for a general stochastic volatility jump-diffusion model with applications to the study of the short-time behavior of the implied volatility
In this paper, generalizing results in Alòs, León and Vives (2007b), we see that the dependence of jumps in the volatility under a jump-diffusion stochastic volatility model, has no effect on the short-time behaviour of the at-the-money implied volatility skew, although the corresponding Hull and White formula depends on the jumps. Towards this end, we use Malliavin calculus techniques for Lévy processes based on Løkka (2004), Petrou (2006), and Solé, Utzet and Vives (2007).Hull and White formula, Malliavin calculus, Ito’s formula for the Skorohod integral, jumpdiffusion stochastic volatility models
Juan Luis Vives\u27 Concept of History
Among those humanists of the sixteenth century whose literary output reflects an awareness of the need for clearly defined method in the writing of history is the Spanish-born scholar, Juan Luis Vives. Although he achieved his fame largely in the field of social reform, education, and psychology, Vives had much to say on the value and method of history. A good deal has been written on many aspects of Vives\u27 thought, but virtually no attention has been given to his ideas on history. Only his most extensive biographer, Bonilla y San Martin, makes a serious effort to separate from the multitude of Vives\u27 works, and his theories on histor
La crítica de Juan Luis Vives a los pseudo-dialécticos
Juan Luis Vives: Humanistic Logic versus Nominalistc Logic. In this work we study an aspect of the Humanism of Juan Luis Vives: his critique to the Nominalistic Logic. According to the Spanish philosopher, Grammar and Rhetoric were not separable from Dialectic. Perhaps Juan Luis Vives did not understand very well the sense of the Nominalistic Logic. Nevertheles his contribution to the humanictic Logic was quite considerable
