The discovery of immune checkpoints (IC) has become a landmark event in immuno-oncolog y, improving the understanding of the mechanisms of tumor cells evading immune sur veillance. Based on this, a group of drugs such as immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) were developed, the ef fect of which is due to the rupture of the immunological synapse and recognition by tumor T cells. Currently, ICIs are successfully used in the treatment of a number of malignant neoplasms, improving the indicators of diseasefree and overall sur vival. However, determining the role of these drugs in the treatment of children with tumors of the blood system is the subject of active research. This article presents a review of the literature on topical aspects of the administration of PD-1 and PD-L1 inhibitors in pediatric hematolog y. Their mechanisms of action, ef fectiveness and potential complications of therapy are presented

    No full text
The growing literature in PPP has made the field multi-disciplinary, over-differentiated, and unconsolidated. Taking a meta-analysis lens, this study investigates an unexplored identity of the field. It consolidates 61 review articles in PPP, analyses them across numerous review categories, and provides implications and suggestions for future studies. The review categories include the purpose of study, methods used, dataset details, journal and author details, primary disciplinary focus, awareness of previous review studies, and evolution of the PPP review literature. The findings reveal that the literature progressed through four evolution phases: from initiation, formation, growth, to expansion. Future review works should involve more empirical studies and examine the practical relevance of the PPP research. Promising areas are PPP governance, complexity, post-transfer phases, sustainability-related issues, and real estate development through PPP. The PPP researchers in construction engineering and management, property management, public management, and transportation will benefit from understanding the field’s identity, how it is currently being formed, promising areas, and where the literature is evolving

The compiled database covers 60 years of recent financial history of 47 economies and is first to include the 2018 crisis in Turkey and the 2020 sovereign debt crisis in Argentina. It covers such variables as debt/gdp levels for different sectors of the economy (state, households, nonfinancial and financial sector), credit/gdp gap, residential property price statistics, The paper is focused on early warning indicators of financial crises applicable to Russia. Using the stepwise regression approach the author identifies early warning indicators for banking and currency crises in advanced and emerging market economies. The proposed prediction model for banking crisis in Russia and emerging market economies includes credit gap and real residential property price index growth. The author explores the possibility of inclusion of residential property price index into the informational base for the countercyclical capital buffer estimation by the Bank of Russia. An analysis of currency crises indicates that private debt-to-service ratio contains useful information for prediction of currency crisis in Russia and emerging market economies. Compiled data is based on statistics published by Bank for International Settlements, Institute for International Finance and Joint External Debt Hub

    L-asparaginase: New about Well-Known Drug

    No full text
The history of asparaginase clinical use is inextricably linked to the improvement of treatment programs for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). Asparaginase, obtained from E. coli, has become the crucial part in the protocols for the treatment of ALL in children and adults since the 1960s-1970s due to its antitumor effect on lymphoid leukemia cells. Despite the evolution of therapeutic approaches in ALL management, changes in used chemotherapeutic agents, their administration regimens and doses, the asparaginase remains one of the leading therapeutic agents in ALL patients. With time ideas about the asparaginase mechanisms have expanded, new data have been accumulated on adverse effects (allergic reactions, thrombotic complications, pancreatitis, hepatic dysfunction, etc.). The asparaginase obtained from Erwinia chrysanthemi and PEGylated forms of the drug were used to reduce the frequency of any of such adverse effects. This literature review provides current concepts on the mechanism of L-asparaginase dosage forms action, describes side effects associated with the use of this medication. We also present our own clinical case of L-asparaginase (obtained from Erwinia chrysanthemi) administration in ALL patient with allergic reaction to PEG-L-asparaginase

Developing Learning Trajectory For Enhancing Students’ Relational Thinking

    No full text
Algebra is part of Mathematics learning in Indonesian curriculum. It takes one half of the teaching hours in senior high school, and one third in junior high school. However, the learning trajectory of Algebra needs to be improved because teachers teach computational thinking by applying paper-and-pencil strategy combining with the concepts-operations-example-drilling approach. Mathematics textbooks do not give enough guidance for teachers to conduct good activities in the classroom to promote algebraic thinking especially in the primary schools. To reach Indonesian Mathematics teaching goals, teachers should develop learning trajectories based on pedagogical and theoretical backgrounds. Teachers need to have knowledge of student’s developmental progressions and understanding of mathematics concepts and students’ thinking. Research shows that teachers’ knowledge of student’s mathematical development is related to their students’ achievement. In fostering a greater emphasis on algebraic thinking, teachers and textbooks need to work more closely together to develop a clearer learning trajectory. Having this algebraic thinking, students developed not only their own character of learning and thinking but also their attitude, attention and discipline. Key Words: Learning Trajectory, Relational Thinkin

Research Productivity in Emerging Economies: Empirical Evidence from Kazakhstan

    No full text
The growth of the Higher Education and Science (HES) sector is positively associated with its research productivity and has a high potential in emerging countries. To explore such research productivity, this study offers a comprehensive analysis of the scientific literature from Kazakhstan. Our methods included descriptive analysis, network analysis, and author-based productivity analysis (by Lotka’s law) of 23,371 articles from Scopus, published during 1991–2020, and across 25 subject areas. The results of the descriptive analysis showed a substantial increase in the number of and citations to the literature since 2011 in almost all subject areas. However, the network analysis found that research in natural sciences was more developed in topical relationships and international collaborations than research in arts and humanities, social, and medical sciences. The Lotka’s law application revealed that the overall scientific literature in Kazakhstan did not reach its necessary stage of maturity. Additionally, some subject areas demonstrated greater contribution to the overall knowledge base, while others were less productive or lagging in their development. Our findings, useful for researchers and policymakers in emerging countries, can be exemplary in understanding the results of policy reforms aimed to improve the HES sector in emerging countries
