No full textNonostante la pervasività delle immagini digitali venga raccontata come una forza inarrestabile, c’è una realtà materica che gli oppone resistenza e che si dimostra riluttante a ospitarle. Accompagnare un testo cartaceo con foto, grafici, disegni o immagini pone problemi tecnici, economici e giuridici. L’immagine leggera, dematerializzata, volatile, di facile condivisione che circola senza apparenti ostacoli da uno smartphone all’altro diventa immediatamente più pesante, ingombrante, impegnativa nel momento in cui deve confrontarsi con spazi e luoghi non digitali. Non sono quindi i supporti o le modalità di produzione a tracciare la distinzione tra ciò che è digitale e ciò che non lo è (analogico, materiale, fisico) ma forse gli ambienti che producono e in cui possono sopravvivere
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textQuesto scritto può essere letto come un percorso museale, una visita in tre atti o tre stanze, una selezione ragionata di esempi tenuti assieme da una logica che non intende affermare una verità ma proporre un’esperienza empiricamen- te verificabile. D’altronde, tra le diverse funzioni attribuibili ad un museo non c’è soltanto quella di mostrarci delle cose ma anche quella di permetterci: “[...] di vedere in noi stessi attraverso le cose, di misurarci in relazione agli oggetti esposti1.” Le tre stanze di questo percorso sono state selezionate sulla base di un quadro teorico articolato e in risposta alla sollecitazione provenuta dagli organizzatori della conferenza internazionale “Museum and Society” tenutasi il 15 marzo 2019 presso Palazzo Medici Riccardi a Firenze
Multimodal Genealogy. The Capitol Hill Riot and Conspiracy Iconography
Full text linkThe Capitol Hill riots on 6 January 2021 were an event of great importance not only be- 6
cause of their political and legal impact, but also because they allowed everyone to observe the 7
symbols, images, masks and other signs that were displayed in front of the cameras of many jour- 8
nalists and eyewitnesses. The iconography displayed on that occasion should not be dealt with as 9
an extemporary invention but considered the result of a process of semantic and narrative accumu- 10
lation produced in online and offline interactions. This article seeks to outline a theoretical-method- 11
ological framework of contemporary conspiracy images as multimodal forms of communication. 12
Starting with images collected on Capitol Hill along with a corpus of online conversations that oc- 13
curred on platforms such as Gab in particular between 2016 and 2021, examples of the dynamics of 14
constitution of conspiracy images and their genealogy will be provided. Keywords: keyword 1; key- 15
