The roles of Sophie Neveu in Dan Brown's the Da Vinci Code Novel
This research analyzes women‘s issues in The Da Vinci Code novel by Dan Brown. In the novel there is a female character named Sophie Neveu. Sophie's role as a woman who can be relied upon in various situations makes her considered as woman who carries the spirit of feminism. The researchers decide to examine the role of Sophie Neveu as reflection of women's equality in The Da Vinci Code novel. Characterization techniques used by the author help researchers to analyze and describe the role of Sophie Neveu. Therefore, the first analysis is the characterization technique used by the author of The Da Vinci Code Novel, second analysis is the role of Sophie Neveu as reflection of women's equality in The Da Vinci Code novel and the last explain the factors that make Sophie Neveu able to play her role. The theory used is the theory of characterization technique by Baldick and the main theory is Liberal Feminism by Betty Friedan. The method used in this research is qualitative and descriptive method in process of data analysis. The results of the discussion of this research are 1). The author uses direct method and indirect method to describe Sophie Neveu’s characterization, 2). Sophie Neveu play eleven roles of masculine qualities i.e strong woman, competitive, courageous, unyielding, confident, independent, adventurous, aggressive, assertive, intelligent and generally acting as leaders, and; 3). The factor that make Sophie Neveu able to play these role is the background of her education. The conclusions of this research are masculine characteristics that can be owned by women and men, to become advanced individuals, women as part of the community must have equal opportunities as men in getting equal education, and the last that education is very important

Dark solitons of the Gross-Neveu model
We present N-soliton solutions for the classical (1+1)-dimensional
Gross-Neveu model which satisfy non-zero boundary conditions. These solutions
are obtained by direct method using some properties of the soliton matrices
that appear in the framework of the Cauchy matrix approach.Comment: 13 pages, typos corrected, references adde
The tachyon potential in open Neveu-Schwarz string field theory
A classical action for open superstring field theory has been proposed which does not suffer from contact term problems. After generalizing this action to include the non-GSO projected states of the Neveu-Schwarz string, the pure tachyon contribution to the tachyon potential is explicitly computed. The potential has a minimum of V = 1/32g(2) which is 60% of the predicted exact minimum of V = 1/2 pi(2)g(2) from D-brane arguments

Understanding quantum phase transitions in systems of interacting itinerant fermions is crucial for advancing our knowledge of quantum criticality. This interest is driven by experiments on strongly correlated materials. Recent focus has been on two-dimensional materials, such as graphene, surfaces of topological insulators, and certain spin liquids. These materials are characterized by a pseudo-relativistic Dirac dispersion in their freely moving fermions, which lack classical analogs.
In this thesis, we study the quantum critical points in Dirac systems by computing the scaling dimensions of charge bilinears across various Gross-Neveu universality classes, including Gross-Neveu, chiral Ising Gross-Neveu, chiral XY Gross-Neveu, and chiral Heisenberg Gross-Neveu. We utilize the large expansion method to compute the anomalous dimensions in terms of . These scaling dimensions are instrumental in understanding the quantum phase transitions from a Dirac semimetal to an insulating phase, as observed in systems like the model and graphene-like materials. Additionally, we propose a dual operator in a bosonic theory, which is a combination of gauge-invariant monopole doublets for bilinears in the Gross-Neveu Heisenberg model, based on previous conjectures
On the super Mumford form in the presence of Ramond and Neveu-Schwarz punctures
University of Minnesota Ph.D. dissertation. JUly 2019. Major: Mathematics. Advisor: Alexander Voronov. 1 computer file (PDF); v, 98 pages. We generalize the result of Voronov (1988) to give an expression for the super Mumford form on the moduli spaces of super Riemann surfaces with Ramond and Neveu–Schwarz punctures. In the Ramond case we take the number of punctures to be large compared to the genus. We consider for the case of Neveu-Schwarz punctures the super Mumford form over the component of the moduli space corresponding to an odd spin structure. The super Mumford form can be used to create a measure whose integral computes scattering amplitudes of superstring theory. We express it in terms of local bases of global sections of tensor powers of the Berezinian line bundle of a family of super Riemann surfaces.Diroff, Daniel. (2019).
