The analysis shows that VCs are more likely to step in for firms that are younger, smaller and more endowed with intangible assets than the average. Additionally, it hints at their positive role when asymmetric information problems are of utmost importance and there is broad scope for adding value

No full textEconomia e gestione della banca presenta l’insieme dei temi di inquadramento teoricoistituzionale
delle banche nel nostro Paese e le tematiche relative alle principali aree della gestione
bancaria. Per quanto riguarda il dettaglio degli argomenti, si è privilegiata una forma
che contemplasse, da un lato, l’esaustività dei temi e, dall’altro, un adeguato livello di approfondimento
coerente con il target di riferimento. Il manuale è stato progettato per gli studenti
dei corsi di Economia e gestione della banca della facoltà di Economia. Ciò nonostante, il presente
volume si rivolge anche a professionisti del settore e a tutti coloro che intendono conoscere
i principali temi oggetto della gestione della banca: in tal senso riteniamo che esso possa costituire
un valido supporto nella formazione di base del personale delle banche.
Abbiamo cercato di tracciare un impianto che prendesse in considerazione, da un lato,
l’inquadramento dello specifico ruolo della banca nel sistema economico-finanziario e, dall’altro,
le modalità operative proprie della gestione bancaria tenendo conto delle problematiche
correlate alla raccolta delle risorse, alla concessione del credito, alla gestione complessiva dei
rischi e al loro costante controllo.
I vari argomenti vengono trattati coniugando – per quanto possibile – l’esposizione rigorosa
di norme, regole operative, procedure e fatti con le finalità didattico-espositive del lavoro. Da
ciò deriva la scelta di corredare i vari capitoli con numerose esemplificazioni, casi aziendali e
approfondimenti
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.
