Sperm Cell Driven Microrobots-Emerging Opportunities and Challenges for Biologically Inspired Robotic Design
With the advent of small-scale robotics, several exciting new applications like Targeted Drug Delivery, single cell manipulation and so forth, are being discussed. However, some challenges remain to be overcome before any such technology becomes medically usable; among which propulsion and biocompatibility are the main challenges. Propulsion at micro-scale where the Reynolds number is very low is difficult. To overcome this, nature has developed flagella which have evolved over millions of years to work as a micromotor. Among the microscopic cells that exhibit this mode of propulsion, sperm cells are considered to be fast paced. Here, we give a brief review of the state-of-the-art of Spermbots - a new class of microrobots created by coupling sperm cells to mechanical loads. Spermbots utilize the flagellar movement of the sperm cells for propulsion and as such do not require any toxic fuel in their environment. They are also naturally biocompatible and show considerable speed of motion thereby giving us an option to overcome the two challenges of propulsion and biocompatibility. The coupling mechanisms of physical load to the sperm cells are discussed along with the advantages and challenges associated with the spermbot. A few most promising applications of spermbots are also discussed in detail. A brief discussion of the future outlook of this extremely promising category of microrobots is given at the end
Profiling research published in the journal of enterprise information management (JEIM)
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to analyse research published in the Journal of Enterprise Information Management (JEIM) in the last ten years (1999 to 2008).
Design/methodology/approach – Employing a profiling approach, the analysis of the 381 JEIM publications includes examining variables such as the most active authors, geographic diversity, authors' backgrounds, co-author analysis, research methods and keyword analysis.
Findings – All the finding are in relation to the period of analysis (1999 to 2008). (a) Research categorised under descriptive, theoretical and conceptual methods is the most dominant research approach followed by JEIM authors. This is followed by case study research. (b) The largest proportion of contributions came from researchers and practitioners with an information systems background, followed by those with a background in business and computer science and IT. (c) The keyword analysis suggests that ‘information systems’, ‘electronic commerce’, ‘internet’, ‘logistics’, ‘supply chain management’, ‘decision making’, ‘small to medium-sized enterprises’, ‘information management’, ‘outsourcing’, and ‘modelling’ were the most frequently investigated keywords. (d) The paper presents and discusses the findings obtained from the citation analysis that determines the impact of the research published in the JEIM.
Originality/value – The primary value of this paper lies in extending the understanding of the evolution and patterns of IS research. This has been achieved by analysing and synthesising existing JEIM publications

A Comparative Study of Business-to-Government Information Sharing Arrangements for Tax Reporting
Having tax transparency is getting more important and enforced by more and more countries around the world. To deal with tax evasion, OECD has developed an Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) standard. The implementation of this standard differs among countries. In this study, we explore factors explaining the differences between two information sharing arrangements in implementing the AEOI standard. In both cases, the information sharing architecture and the accompanying governance arrangement are investigated. The findings of the exploratory study show that the differences are influenced by available IT capabilities, interoperability, trust among information sharing partners, power difference, inter-organizational relationship, and perceived benefits of implementing such arrangements. Ten propositions are derived explaining the differences which can be tested in further research.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Information and Communication Technolog
Depression among medical students of India: Meta-analysis of published research studies using screening instruments
Objectives and Background: To determine the pooled prevalence of depression among medical students of India by undertaking meta-analysis of published original research studies Materials and Methods: Systematic search was undertaken using PubMed and Google Scholar databases for freely available original articles published between 2014 and 2018 on the subject depression among Indian medical (MBBS) undergraduate students using PRISMA guidelines. Results: A total of 28 original research articles were identified involving 7046 medical students from different medical colleges of India. The median number of students was 284.5 (range, 86–444). All the original research articles had used standardized and validated global screening instruments for identifying depression, and none was based on clinical diagnosis. Meta-analysis of pooled prevalence estimate of depression among medical students in India by random-effects model was 40% (confidence interval [CI]: 32%–47%). Girls had a slightly higher risk of depression than boys (odds ratio = 1.06; 95% CI: 0.81–1.38). There were a total of 16 (57.1%) research articles with the presence of psychiatrist as a co-author and had a pooled prevalence of 39% (95% CI: 29%–49%). The remaining 12 studies without psychiatrist as co-author also reported a nearly similar finding, with prevalence of 44% (95% CI: 33%–54%). On subgroup analysis, it was revealed that the pooled prevalence of depression was 37.9% (95% CI: 22–55), 45% (95% CI: 42–52), and 34% (95% CI: 24–50) in research articles using study instruments Beck Depression Inventory, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, and other miscellaneous screening instruments, respectively. Conclusion: Within study limitations, the high prevalence of depression was noted among medical students of India and the situation warrants comprehensive management by stakeholders

Polarization and acculturation in US Election 2016 outcomes – Can twitter analytics predict changes in voting preferences
Elections are among the most critical events in a national calendar. During elections, candidates increasingly use social media platforms to engage voters. Using the 2016 US presidential election as a case study, we looked at the use of Twitter by political campaigns and examined how the drivers of voter behaviour were reflected in Twitter. Social media analytics have been used to derive insights related to theoretical frameworks within political science. Using social media analytics, we investigated whether the nature of social media discussions have an impact on voting behaviour during an election, through acculturation of ideologies and polarization of voter preferences. Our findings indicate that discussions on Twitter could have polarized users significantly. Reasons behind such polarization were explored using Newman and Sheth's model of voter's choice behaviour. Geographical analysis of tweets, users, and campaigns suggests acculturation of ideologies among voting groups. Finally, network analysis among voters indicates that polarization may have occurred due to differences between the respective online campaigns. This study thus provides important and highly relevant insights into voter behaviour for the future management and governance of successful political campaigns.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Information and Communication Technolog
