Ranging with ultrawide bandwidth signals in multipath environments
No full textOver the coming decades, high-definition situationally-aware networks have the potential to create revolutionary applications in the social, scientific, commercial, and military sectors. Ultrawide bandwidth (UWB) technology is a viable candidate for enabling accurate localization capabilities through time-of-arrival (TOA)-based ranging techniques. These techniques exploit the fine delay resolution property of UWB signals by estimating the TOA of the first signal path. Exploiting the full capabilities of UWB TOA estimation can be challenging, especially when operating in harsh propagation environments, since the direct path may not exist or it may not be the strongest. In this paper, we first give an overview of ranging techniques together with the primary sources of TOA error (including propagation effects, clock drift, and interference). We then describe fundamental TOA bounds (such as the Cramer-Rao bound and the tighter Ziv-Zakai bound) in both ideal and multipath environments. These bounds serve as useful benchmarks in assessing the performance of TOA estimation techniques. No full textLos objetivos del siguiente proyecto son los siguientes:
• Identificar de manera adecuada los riesgos presentes en el puesto de
trabajo en la cual se desarrollará el proyecto.
• Evaluar los riesgos identificados.
• Implementar medidas preventivas y correctivas con el fin de prevenir
incidentes, accidentes, y/o el desarrollo de enfermedades profesionales
del operario del puesto. El puesto de trabajo en el cual se desarrollará este proyecto final es la sala de Inyecto-soplado de saleros. Donde una (1) persona es operario de 2 (dos) maquinas Inyecto-sopladoras las cuales realizan la fabricación de los envases de sal (Saleros) partiendo desde un pellet de polietileno.
Se analizará cada elemento del proceso, partiendo desde la búsqueda de la materia prima (bolsas de pellet de 25 kg c/u) en el depósito de insumos utilizando un autoelevador, hasta su finalización de producto terminado. También se relevará el cambio de formato de la inyecto-sopladora (Cambio de moldes, despiece de la misma) ya que el operario debe reemplazar piezas de gran peso y tamaño desde el interior de la máquina, lo que demanda sobre esfuerzos, malas posturas, posiciones incomodas de trabajo, y exposición a altas temperatura de las piezas.

Multinational companies and the diffusion of employment practices from outside the country of origin explaining variation across firms
No full textThis paper analyses the issue of variation between multinational companies in the extent to which they use their foreign operating units as the origin of employment practices that are subsequently transferred across the firm.
It uses data from a nationally representative survey of MNCs in the UK and contrasts the relative influences of three sets of factors on diffusion.
The results demonstrate that while the nationality of the parent firm and the way in which the multinational is configured have only modest effects on diffusion, the organisational conduits through which the diffusion of practices can occur are central to explaining variation between firms
