Abstract: Objective: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the Turkish validity and reliability of the Preschool Children’s Nutrition Screening Tool (NutriSTEP®), which is used to determine the nutritional status of children in the preschool period. Subject/Methods: The sample of the study consists of 333 parents with children aged 3–5 years old living in Turkey, who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study and answered the Turkish NutriSTEP® form online. The forward and backward translation method was applied for the language validity of the Turkish form. Expert opinion was sought for content validity. Factor analyzes were applied to determine the construct validity of the Turkish form. Original NutriSTEP® and Iran NutriSTEP® were evaluated to assess cut-points. To evaluate the reliability of the Turkish version, the test–retest method was used. Results: As a result of expert opinion, the Content Validity Index was found to be 0.97. According to exploratory factor analysis, unlike the original NutriSTEP®, five sub-dimensions were obtained and the 13th question with a factor load of less than 0.30 was removed. According to the confirmatory factor analysis, it was shown that the scale was suitable for Turkish society. There were positive, high and statistically significant correlations between the NutriSTEP® scale test–retest scores (p < 0.01). Conclusion: The Turkish NutriSTEP® questionnaire is both valid and reliable for the screening of nutrition risk in preschool children of the Turkish population. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Limited

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Ebeveyn veya çocukla ilgilenen kişilerin çok basit ve kısa sürede cevaplayabilmeleri, potansiyel beslenme sorunlarının erken tanımlanmasını sağlaması, okul öncesi dönem çocuklarındaki beslenme müdahalelerinin değerlendirilmesinde destek olması ve çocuklarda toplum beslenme programlarını izlemek için kullanılması uygundur.ABSTRACT: Healthy eating habits constitute an important step in preventing diseases related to nutritional problems that may occur in adulthood. Health problems and reduce the risk of chronic diseases to ensure healthy eating habits should gain during childhood and must be prevented early on the emerging nutritional problems. Nutritional status should be monitored in childhood and necessary precautions should be taken. This research was conducted to test the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of Nutrition Screening Tool for Every Preschooler (NutriSTEP®) and to make it usable in a methodological and descriptive type. The study was carried out online throughout Turkey between January 2021 and February 2021 and was included 333 parents who have children between the ages of 3-5 living in Turkey. The average age of the sample is 4.4 years, 55.9% of them are girls and 44.1% are boys. In the study as data collection tools; Nutrition Screening Tool for Preschool Children, child's weight, child's height and child's date of birth were used. The language validity of the Turkish form of the scale was provided by the translation-back translation method. Expert opinion was consulted fort the Content Validity Index (CVI) was found to be 0,97. In order to determine the construct validity of Turkish version of the scale, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were applied and 5 sub-dimensions unlike original scale. Question 13 with a factor load of less than 0.30 was excluded from the scale. To evaluate the reliability of the Turkish version of the scale; test-retest method was used. In order to determine the invariance of the scale against time, the scale was administered to 62 parents at two week intervals. It was found that there were positive, high and statistically significant correlations between the NutriSTEP® scale test-retest scores (p <0.01). Considering the mean scores of the NutriSTEP® total scores and sub-dimensions of the children, it was seen that there was no change according to age. Considering the gender variable, a statistically significant difference was found in the NutriSTEP® sub-dimension "sedentary behaviors and feeding behavior" mean score in boys compared to girls. When we evaluated the mean scores of other sub-dimensions and NutriSTEP® total score according to the gender variable, no statistically significant difference was found. The obtained results on NutriSTEP® is valid and reliable scale that can be used evaluate the nutritional status of children between the ages of 3 and 5. It is convenient for parents or caregivers to respond very simply and in a short time, to provide early identification of potential feeding problems, to support the evaluation of nutritional interventions in preschool children, and to monitor community nutrition programs for children

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
