Der traditionelle Sport ist weitgehend Bestandteil der Massnahmen der sozialen Intervention zugunsten einer Jugend ohne Anhaltspunkte. Bestimmte Vorgangsweisen im Bereich der Soziologie des Sportes enthüllen vielfältige Arten der Abweichung innerhalb der kulturellen Welt des Sportes. Diese neuen Angaben stören den instrumentalen Zusammenhang, der bis jetzt soziale Abweichungen und Integration durch Sport mechanisch miteinander verbunden hatte. Wäre es nicht sinnvoller, die Problematik als eine Frage der sportlichen Abweichungen und der sozialen Integration oder noch feiner anhand der Spannung zwischen sportlicher Abweichung und Integration durch Sport ins Auge zu fassen ?Deviance in sport and social integration ?
Traditional sport is widely part of the measures of social intervention intended to young people in lack of points of references. Some approaches in the field of sociology of sports reveal various forms of deviance within the sports cultural world itself. These new data disturb the instrumental relation which, up to now, associated mechanically social deviance and integration through sports. Would not it be more relevant to consider the issue in terms of sporting deviance and social integration, or still more subtly to view it from the tension between sporting deviance and sporting integration ?sociale destinés à une jeunesse en manque de repères. Certaines approches, dans le domaine de la sociologie du sport, dévoilent des formes variées de déviance à l’intérieur même de l’univers culturel sportif. Ces nouvelles données perturbent la relation instrumentale qui, jusque-là, associait mécaniquement déviances sociales et intégration par le sport. Ne serait-il pas plus pertinent d’envisager la problématique en termes de déviances sportives et d’intégration sociale, ou, plus finement encore, à partir de la tension entre déviance sportive et intégration sportive ?¿ Desvaríos deportivos e integración social ?
El deporte tradicional hace ampliamente parte de los dispositivos de intervención social destinados a una juventud carente de referencias. Algunos enfoques en el dominio de la sociología del deporte desvelan unas formas variadas de desvaríos en el interior mismo del universo cultural deportivo. Sport participation of teenagers : evolution of preferences and reasons for dropping out
No full textLa pratique sportive constitue un des moyens privilégiés pour être physiquement actif. Sous-tendue par différents enjeux politiques, éducatifs et sanitaires, la baisse de la participation sportive dans certains contextes et pour certaines populations interroge. Les adolescents sont particulièrement concernés par cette problématique. Cette thèse étudie donc les phénomènes de maintien et d’abandon de la pratique sportive instituée et non-instituée des jeunes. En utilisant une approche compréhensive, nous avons tenté de décrire et comprendre la diversité de ce que les gens désignent par le mot « sport ». La première étude concernait l’évolution des préférences sportives. La comparaison des résultats de deux enquêtes quantitatives menées en 2001 et 2015 dans les Bouches-du-Rhône a permis de décrire les préférences sportives et leur évolution selon le sexe et la catégorie socio-professionnelle des participants. La deuxième étude s’est intéressée aux raisons évoquées par les jeunes qui abandonnent la pratique sportive, dans ce même département français. En utilisant une méthodologie qualitative, nous avons élaboré un cadre de compréhension de l’abandon. Les individus cheminent à travers les différents cercles de leur vie sociale. Leur cheminement implique contraintes et décisions. Ce cadre d’interprétation pourrait également permettre de comprendre la reprise de la pratique. Ainsi, décrire les préférences et comprendre les raisons d'abandonner peut permettre d'aider à prévenir l'abandon. Pour cela il est indispensable d'être à l’écoute des jeunes afin d'être en mesure de leur proposer des activités et des façons de les pratiquer au plus près de leurs aspirations.Sport is one of the most important ways to be physically active. The decline in sports participation in some contexts and for some populations has various political, educational and health implications. This problem particularly concerns teenagers. This thesis therefore studies the phenomena of continuation and abandonment of organized and unorganized sports practice by teenagers. Using a comprehensive approach, we aim to describe and understand the diversity of what people refer to as “sport”. The first study concerns the evolution of adolescents’ preferred sports. Comparison of the results of two quantitative surveys conducted in 2001 and 2015 in the French département of Bouches-du-Rhône makes it possible to describe sports preferences and their evolution according to the sex and the socioeconomic status of the participants. The second study explores the reasons why teenagers drop out from sports in the same French département. Using a qualitative methodology, we develop a framework for understanding drop-out. Individuals progress through the different circles of their social life. Their pathway implies constraints, and decisions. This interpretative framework could also be applied to engagement in or resumption of sports practice. Thus, describing the activities that teenagers prefer and understanding why they leave the circle of sports practice can help prevent drop-out. To promote long-term sports participation, it appears essential to listen to adolescents. Knowledge of their reasons for dropping out and the practices they enjoy should help to suggest activities and ways to practise them that are as close as possible to their aspirations
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Full text linkWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
