Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Síndrome de Irvine Gass: patología secundaria a cirugía de catarata
Cystic macular edema, also known as Irvine Gass syndrome, is a post-surgical macular edema, being the main cause of visual acuity loss after ophthalmic surgery. The patient presents with decreased visual acuity and metamorphopsia in 1-2% of cases. The peak incidence occurs on average 6 weeks after surgery, however subclinical cystic macular edema may be present in 30% of patients and is diagnosed by angiography or optical coherence tomography. Among the risk factors are those that produce post-surgical inflammation, or one can also consider the patients' own risk factors such as uveitis, diabetes mellitus, presence of epiretinal membrane or retinal vein occlusion. It can cause low visual acuity, metamorphopsia and anterior chamber cells. The diagnosis is made through the patient's clinic, by means of indirect ophthalmoscopy. The natural history is spontaneous resolution, but recovery may take weeks or months. Therapies are aimed at reducing the inflammation generated by the disease.
Herpes zoster comes from the Latin word herpes and the Greek word zoster meaning belt. varicella zoster virus belongs to the family Herpesviridae, subfamily Alfaherpesvirinae; it is an icosahedral double-banded DNA virus and exclusively infects humans. Primoinfection mainly affects children, subsequently the patient becomes immune to the virus, so it remains inactive in the dorsal or cranial root ganglia. The main risk factor is age, since as age increases, cellular immunity decreases. Herpes zoster ophthalmicus is a severe variant of herpes zoster and occurs in 20% of cases. It does not always involve the eye, however, there is a 50% risk of ocular disease if the first division of the fifth cranial or trigeminal nerve is affected. Hutchinson's sign is a predictor, this given that it is characterized by the presence of a vesicle in the nasal tip, and this represents the dermatome of the nasociliary branch of the ophthalmic nerve. Oral antivirals are recommended for 7 to 10 days such as acyclovir, valacyclovir or famciclovir. In case the patient presents Hutchinson's sign, a control appointment should be made 1 to 2 weeks after the diagnosis and in case the patient presents red eye, it should be reevaluated before 48 hours, but if there is a decrease in visual acuity, it should be reevaluated before 24 hours.

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Carcinoma Epidermoide Cutáneo, enfermedad de alta relevancia mundial
Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), formerly called squamous cell carcinoma, is defined as the primary skin tumor that expresses a predominant desquamative differentiation. It usually appears from precursor lesions, such as actinic keratosis or Bowen's disease (carcinoma in situ), although it can also appear on irradiated skin or on chronic or de novo inflammatory lesions, such as burn scars, ulcers on the lower limbs and in cases of deep mycosis; as well as in high and medium risk areas of the head and neck. It has an incidence up to three times more in men than in women, and it occurs mostly between the ages of 64 to 76 years. It´s the second leading cause of death from skin cancer after melanoma. It´s part of the non-melanocytic skin cancers and is considered one of the most frequent cancers in the white-skinned population, skin types I and II according to the Fitzpatrick classification and having work outdoors such as agriculture and construction, have a higher risk of suffering the disease. The definitive diagnosis of SCC is established by biopsy of the lesion and examination with histopathology. Surgery represents the treatment of choice and the Mohs technique is considered the technique of choice.
Sporotrichosis is a fungal disease caused by the fungi of the Sporothrix schenckii family, it can occur subacute or chronic and mainly affects the subcutaneous and lymphatic tissue.
Transmission is carried out mainly by inoculation with contaminated material in areas of the skin that have a trauma. It affects men and women and is most common in pediatric and young adults patients. It is most widely distributed mycosis due to implantation in the world, it can be found in intertropical regions and in temperate climates. It presents several clinical forms, the most frequent is the lymphocutaneous form, that can be found in 70% of the cases, followed by the fixed form in 25%. The diagnosis is made by biopsy of the nodule to be able to carry out the mycological culture and confirm the diagnostic suspicion. The drug choice against the fixed and lymphangitic cutaneous forms is itraconazole, but it has the disadvantage of being a high-cost drug. The treatment in developing countries has been potassium iodide, since it is characterized by being effective, well tolerated, and low price.

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
