Kemampuan Membaca Pemahaman Mahasiswa di Masa Pandemi

Reading proficiency among students during a pandemic demonstrated a lack of motivation in reading among students during online learning. Then, it is also absent in the observations made regarding the reader's comprehension of the text supplied during lectures. The offered reading took a lot of work for half of the 40 students to understand. The study aimed to describe the students in PGSD FKIP UBT's reading speed and reading comprehension of the reading material. Utilizing a qualitative approach, this investigation. The study's participants were 17 members of the 2019 batch of PGSD students, who were split up into different classrooms. This topic was picked because, as of July 2021, there were still pandemic conditions. The understanding test approach was employed in the data collection process. Based on the study's findings, information on students' reading comprehension and speed reading skills in the medium category was gathered. This is demonstrated by the typical student's reading comprehension score of 61%–70% and their speed reading score of 247.78 KPM, respectively. Based on the data collected, it can be said that the 2019 PGSD FKIP students do not have sufficient reading speed or comprehension because they are still unable to receive a score in the good group

The learning module was developed because there was no teaching material in the form of a module based on local wisdom developed by the course lecturer. Therefore, through this research, it is expected to develop a learning module based on local wisdom. This research aims to develop a learning module suitable for use in teaching and to assess students\u27 responses to the development of the learning module. They provide varied teaching materials to facilitate students\u27 teaching and learning processes. This module was developed as a product through the Research and Development (RnD) method with the development process using the 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages). Data collection instruments consist of validation sheets and questionnaires. The validation sheet is used to assess the validity of the product. The questionnaires are used to assess students\u27 responses to the development of the interactive module. This research showed the feasibility of the research results in terms of validation by subject matter experts and language experts. The validation results of the material expert reached 88.57%, with a very feasible category. Meanwhile, the language expert validation results reached 93.33%, with a very feasible category. The survey results on students\u27 interest in using the module reached 92.67%, with a very interested category. Based on the results, the learning module developed for elementary school reading and writing skills is highly suitable and attractive for teaching and learning

Development Of Level A Leveled Reading Books For Elementary School Students

The use of picture storybooks can effectively attract children's attention due to their visually appealing design. Picture storybooks function as both decorative and supportive elements that help students better understand the story’s content. This study aimed to develop a Level A leveled storybook for first-grade students at SDN 043 Tarakan. The development was motivated by the limited availability of storybooks that match students’ reading levels, despite their relatively high interest in reading activities. The research followed the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data were collected using validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and documentation. The feasibility of the product was assessed by experts in design, language, and content. The results showed that the design validation obtained a score of 97% (highly feasible), language validation 82% (highly feasible), content validation 93% (feasible), and practitioner validation 92% (highly feasible). Based on these results, the Level A storybook was found to be highly suitable for use in first-grade reading activities. Student response data also indicated strong engagement, with limited trials scoring 100% and field trials 99% in the “highly feasible” category. Therefore, the developed Level A storybook is considered highly appropriate for use in supporting early reading activities in elementary schools

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
