Style, type and origin of Kyadwinye iron ore deposits in the western margin ofShan Plateau, Central Myanmar
Kyadwinye iron mine is located at Latitude 21° 53' N and Longitude 96° 32' 20'' E, Mandalay region, Myanmar. It lies in the western margin of the Shan Plateau within Sibumasu Terrane. Rock units exposed in the area are Paleozoic rocks including Nyaungbaw Formation (Silurian age), Zebingyi Formation (early to middle Devonian age) and Maymyo Formation (middle
Devonian to Permian age). Iron ores are mainly limonite and hematite with minor amounts of pyrite and magnetite. The deposit mainly forms in Maymyo Formation. Jordan et al., (2017) dated the zircon U-Pb ages of 399 Ma, for a limestone near Pyinoolwin which suggests that the age is consistent with fossil ages of the Middle Devonian Maymyo Formation. The relativity plots of the zircons suggest the provenance has a Gondwana affinity, as the peaks of the zircons confirm the affinity with the Sibumasu Terrane. At mine site, ore deposit entirely overlies on dolomite and sandstone of Maymyo Formation. Large ore boulders may reach about 15 cubic meters in size. Small nodular, concretionary iron ore and float ore also occur. In some places, these iron ores are embedded in reddish brown ferruginous sandy soil and sandy loam layers. Based on the result of borehole data, ore boulders decrease in size from south to north. This is because the fault that separates the two blocks, impounds oxidizing water and enriches iron in the hanging wall block (south), causing more concentration and thickening of the iron deposits. The occurrences of micro fossils (forams?) and ooids which are entirely or partially replaced by interlayered hematite indicate that the iron deposit is primarily of sedimentary origin probably formed at the end of Paleozoic time (Tin Aung Myint, 2002). The porous and soluble nature of Maymyo Formation is the favorable place for the formation of iron deposits on Shan Plateau. Besides, chemical weathering processes leached dolomite and calcite minerals from earlier formed iron deposit, causing the increasing of iron grade in the ore as well as removing of gangue minerals from the ore in order to form the ferric iron oxides as secondary residules. The
estimated iron ore reserve is 2 million tons with average iron content of 58.5% (Tin Aung Myint & Mi Mi Ko, 2004). A Study on Improvement of Withholding Tax System in Myanmar : A Perspective of International Comparison (Tin Aung Moe, 2022)
Taxation is assumed a tool, very useful in implementing sustainable development for the
country. The revenue from taxation can be used for the welfare of citizens and for developing
infrastructure for the country. Tax revenue collecting on 7.5% of GDP to make a comparison of
country tax systems between a developed country (US) and a developing country (Philippines)
with Myanmar and to provide evidence-based suggestions to policymakers in developing tax
systems. This study focuses on secondary data with qualitative analysis and a comparative case
study approach by the internal revenue department. It can be seen that the responsibilities
assigned to employers are very detailed and the explanation of the key terms is also precise and
specific. Thus, the choice of options to make a deposit applying to the US is not applicable in
Myanmar. The creditable withholding tax system is currently practiced in Myanmar. To make it
stronger, a final withholding tax system should also be included and income such as interest and
royalties should be subject to a final withholding tax as those are net income and no expenses are
to be deducted commonly applicable for collecting salary income tax
A STUDY ON THE POTENTIALITY OF SUSTAINABLE ECOTOURISM IN TANINTHARYI REGION (A CASE STUDY OF DAWEI & MYEIK) (Tin Aung Lwin, 2019)
Tanintharyi Region is existed with islands including the Mergui Archipelago, which is one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, comprising more than 800 attractive islands for the ecotourism. This paper emphasizes and evaluates on the potentiality of sustainable ecotourism in the region. The objective of the study is to examine whether sustainable development of Ecotourism at Tanintharyi region is possible or not. To meet this objective, to identify the current status of Ecotourism at Tanintharyi region, to know the perceptions of local residents on impacts of Ecotourism and to know the awareness of domestic tourists and international tourists. The research was conducted with three groups of survey questionnaires: one for local residents with 150 sample sizes, international and domestic tourist with 50 sample size each. The research is done on both quantitative and qualitative analysis. The tourists come Tanintharyi region more because of being able to obtain arrival visa at border entrance in three border cities of the region. Starting from 2014, ownership of hotels and guesthouses from private sector were increased gradually. The number of rooms owned by the private sector increased year by year. The region attracts both local visitors and foreign tourists especially with its unspoiled coral islands and beaches. Ecotourism is mainly playing a big role for the tourism development of the region which will help the regional economic development. Since ecotourism performs an important role, concerning the awareness of conservation of nature and environment becomes essential
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
koamabayili/VECTRON-author-checklist: VECTRON author checklist
We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
