Efficient pricing of barrier options with the variance-gamma model
No full textWe develop an efficient Monte Carlo algorithm for pricing barrier options with the variance gamma model [fMAD98a]. After generalizing the double-gamma bridge sampling algorithm of [fAVR03a], we develop conditional bounds on the process paths and exploit these bounds toprice barrier options. The algorithm's efficiency stems from sampling the process paths up to a random resolution that is usually much coarser than the original path resolution. We obtain unbiased estimators, including the case of continuous-time monitoring of the barrier crossing. Our numerical examples show large efficiency gain relative to full-dimensional path sampling
T-satisfiability test problem for the VL1 logical language of the VRS system
No full textIn this paper we give a short introduction to the satisfiability modulo theories (SMT) problem and demonstrate how the methods developed in the SMT research field can be applied in the requirement verification tool VRS, which supports insertion modelling methodology. We formalize the logical language VL1 used for formal reasoning in VRS and justify decidability of satisfiability problem in that language. Besides we discuss the context of the problem being solved and indicate possible methods that can be used on different stages of solution. Finally, we present a satisfiable conjunction search method, which is based on a set-representation of logical connectives in formulas

Finally, we present a satisfiable conjunction search method, which is based on a set-representation of logical connectives in formulas.В данной работе дается короткое введение в задачу проверки T-выполнимости формул относительно логических теорий, и показывается, что разработанные методы решения этой задачи могут применяться в технологии инсерционного моделирования, которая представлена в системе верификации требований VRS. Дается формализация логического языка, используемого в VRS для проведения формальных рассуждений, и показывается разрешимость проблемы выполнимости формул в этом языке. Обсуждаются особенности применения используемых методов, и описывается альтернативный алгоритм поиска выполнимой конъюнкции, основанный на множественном представлении операций в формулах.У даній роботі дається короткий введення в задачу перевірки T-виконуваності формул щодо логічних теорій, і показується, що розроблені методи вирішення цього завдання можуть застосовуватися в технології інсерційного моделювання, яка представлена в системі верифікації вимог VRS. Дається формалізація логічної мови, використовуваного в VRS для проведення формальних міркувань, і показується можливість розв'язання проблеми здійсненності формул в цій мові. Обговорюються особливості застосування використовуваних методів, і описується альтернативний алгоритм пошуку здійсненним кон'юнкції, заснований на множині поданні операцій в формулах
Literary Portrait of V.G. Shershenevich in the Works of Barnaul Writers
No full textImaginist poet V.G. Shershenevich died and was buried in 1942 in Barnaul. The fact of the death and burial of the capital’s author in a provincial town has become a landmark event for regional self-identification, and initiated a particular thematic line in local history and fiction. For the first time the article reveals the image of V.G. Shershenevich, which was developed in the work of Barnaul writers. The analysis of poetic and prose texts shows how the reconstruction of the last days of the poet’s life fits him into the urban landscape, how the grave becomes a semantically productive element of the locus. The basic motifs that model the image of the writer are associated with the change of poles of the oppositions “center — periphery,” “glory — oblivion,” “friend — alien (foreign),” “genius – mediocrity,” “friendship — enmity” with S.A. Yesenin. Literary portrait of Shershenevich comes from the synthesis of the features of his poetics, aesthetic attitudes, life events and the realities of the city. Altai writers tend to project literary and historical facts related to the imagist onto their own work and destiny. There is a tendency to turn the poet into a genius loci

The service records dated 1832 found in the State Archive of Kharkovskaya Oblast, have been taken as a basis of the research work where the author studies the life journey of V.G. Besser, A.I. Maevsky, F.I. Mekhovich. What makes these biographies unique is that they feature CVs of aforesaid people before the year 1832. This year marked the dissolvent of Volynsky Liceum
