The pharmaceutical workforce plays a vital role in strengthening healthcare systems and ensuring rational medicine use in Myanmar. This study aims to analyze the current employment availability of pharmacy graduates from the University of Pharmacy, Yangon, across both public and private sectors, and to examine the challenges affecting their employability and career development. Using a descriptive method, data was collected via an online survey with structured questionnaires. Findings indicate that the pharmacist workforce in Myanmar is predominantly young, female, and concentrated in urban areas, with a strong baseline of full-time employment across diverse sectors. While pharmacists demonstrate high intrinsic motivation for continuous learning and career planning, significant systemic barriers impede their long-term professional development. A notable proportion of respondents have considered or are actively pursuing international migration for better career prospects, underscoring dissatisfaction with domestic opportunities. Pharmacists also expressed a strong belief that their profession is not sufficiently recognized or valued within the Myanmar healthcare system

Nagasaki University (長崎大学)博士(医学)The article presents a contribution concerning the desire to make radiation measurements and to dialogue with experts among the residents of Tomioka town close to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan at the time of the lifting of the relocation order in 2017. Relying on data from a questionnaire conducted at the same time with approximately 8000 residents aged 20 years or older who lived in Tomioka before the accident, a logistic regression analysis was performed to identify retrospectively the factors having driven these desires. The results shed some light on the motivation of affected people to engage in the co-expertise process implemented in Tomioka by experts from Nagasaki University and local authorities. In essence there are two significant results: (i) the people who have the desire to make radiation measurements are those who are reluctant to eat foods produced in the town and who already had an experience of radiation measurement, (ii) the people who have the desire to dialogue with experts about radiation exposure and health effects are above 60 years old and are reluctant to eat foods produced in the town and to drink tap water. In both cases people can imagine living in Tomioka now and in the future. Perspectives regarding future research are envisaged.長崎大学学位論文 学位記番号:共博(医歯薬)甲第54号 学位授与年月日:令和7年9月19日Author: W. Thu Zar, H. IMPACT OF SHWE HLAN BO AND HTEE TAW MOE RIVER PUMPING PROJECTS ON THE FARM HOUSEHOLDS OF BENEFICIAL AREA IN SINTGAING TOWNSHIP

No full text
Land and water are the most important natural resources in agriculture. Myanmar has great potential to extend cultivated area but water is the most important input for agricultural production. This study was carried out with two objectives: to observe the changes of agricultural aspects in the beneficial area of Shwe Hlan Bo and Htee Taw Moe River Pumping Projects, and to assess the livelihood of rural farm households in the beneficial area. A total of 160 respondents were interviewed by using structured questionnaires. The respondents were drawn using stratified random sampling technique in the head-end, the middle and the tail-end of pump irrigation area. It was clearly observed that types of land holding of the households were significantly changed from upland to lowland and orchard. Rainfed area and the cultivated area irrigated by self-irrigation schemes significantly decreased after constructing river pumping stations because of available water from pumping stations. After getting irrigation facility, rice growing households increased double and their average cropping intensity increased in the study area. Yield of some crops increased with irrigation facility and consequently main income from farming also increased. Accordingly, livelihood status of the households in the study area improved and infrastructure for community development partially improved through the development of agricultural aspects after getting irrigation water. There was not much negative impact on environment till the study period according to the perception of respondents

Application-aware Traffic Engineering in Software Defined Networking

The integration of control and data planes into the same devices and lack theglobal centralization control that made the traditional networks may not meet therequirements of the emerging cloud computing, the tactile Internet, and the Internet ofThings (IoT) technology. Moreover, the traditional networks cannot provide thecomplexity of control protocols, complex traffic engineering (TE) tasks, andinterconnecting of a huge number of smart devices. Software Defined Networking(SDN) is an architecture that overcomes the above issues of the traditional networks bytaking advantage of global centralization control, decouples of the control and dataplanes, and enabling innovation through the network programmability. The shortest path-based routing cannot guarantee future traffic demandsbecause the routing only uses the minimum hop counts. The application-aware routingis more efficient than the traditional shortest path-based routing; however, classificationof application traffic and estimation of QoS parameters like link utilization and linkdelay are needed to perform such kind of routing. By taking the advantage of SDN,application-aware traffic engineering can perform more effectively in SDNenvironments. This dissertation presents an application-aware traffic engineering (App-TE) inSDN which generally involves three main modules: traffic classification, trafficmeasurement, and traffic management. Application traffic flows classified into thefollowing two classes: prioritized application traffic and non-prioritized applicationtraffic by using port number and protocol number with the help of traffic analyzer(sFlow-RT). The classified traffic flows are fed to the traffic measurement module tocalculate the link utilization, link delay, and Delay Weighted Capacity (DWC) values. Finally, prioritized application traffic flows are routed by using the DWC-aware routingand non-prioritized application traffic flows are routed by using shortest path routing(or) minimum hop-count based routing. The experimental results demonstrated that theaverage throughput results of the proposed App-TE outperformed the shortest pathrouting and LU-aware routing

No full text
Mobile Agent is a type of software system which acts “intelligently” on one’s behalf with the feature of autonomy, learning ability and most importantly mobility. Therefore, Mobile Agent technology is suitable for collecting data from police stations on behalf of police officers. In this article, Mobile Agent will be addressed as tools for retrieving Criminal record of the offenders. The offenders’ biography is an important data for police officers in deciding criminal case. So, Mobile Agent technology is used for transferring this data between police stations. At first, the authorized police officer from any police station can search for the desired biography of an offender in its own database. If it is not found, the officer can search it at remote sites by using Query Agent (QA).To get that biography, Query Agent (QA) migrates from a host station to remote stations, negotiates with Database Agent (DA) in there, and replies the required information to Police Officer Agent (POA). By implementing this system, several advantages such as time saving, reduce paper work, flexible structuring, dynamic content delivery and less manpower requirement can be achieved. Moreover, it can upgrade the traditional information retrieval system to e-government system. This paper describes the project architecture and its implementation that is based on IBM’s Aglets Workbench.</p
