Establishing world wide web site for the Department of Computer Science, Southern University, Baton Rouge
The Department of Computer science was established as an instructional unit in college of sciences in 1968 at Southern University, Baton Rouge. The department serves more than 300 undergraduates and 80 graduate students in both education systems options. Academic Services or Graduate School provides the information on the Computer Science department to the requestors depending on their requests. This processing is not only taking staff time in attending the requests but also costing money to the University for mailing the Catalogs. Sometimes it may take more than a month to get the information after the process is initiated. The Chairman of the Department of Computer Science felt a need for a computer-based system that will provide the information about the computer science department. It would include programs of study, admission requirements, graduation requirements, computing facilities, courses of instruction, the faculty of instruction research interests and assistantships etc. World Wide Web site, set-up in the department of Computer Science is a computer-based system that will provide all information about the Computer Science department. This system will provide its users an affective interaction through its graphical interface and capabilities. This special project realizes the information database for the computer science department and presents it in a very easy format to navigate. This system will maintain the updated information of the Computer Science Department

Design of a Single Sign-On solution for the department of computer science at the West Saxon University of Zwickau
Die BachelorarbeitThe Bachelor thesis "Design of a Single Sign-On solution for the department of computer science at the West Saxon University of Zwickau" describes the instal-lation and configuration of a Shibboleth system for the department of computer science. After completion of the work the server will be taken over by the Centre for Communications and Information Processing at the University of Applied Sciences. The connection of the new intranet site to this system should be im-plemented. An overview of popular single sign-on technologies and possible pairs of implementation options for more applications at the FH will be shown
The Feminine Experience: Women in the Department of Computer Science
This project focuses on the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois, specifically their population of female students. The author aims to find out why there are so few females in this department, what is being done (or not done) to make improvements, and how the academic experiences of women in CS differ from their male counterparts, if at all. On the basis of three interviews and participant observation, the study indicates that there is a definite need for more female students in the field of computer science at the University of Illinois. One of the suggested methods to close this gender gap is reaching out to elementary, middle, and high school girls to introduce them to CS as a field of study suitable for everyone. The project includes a proposal for continued research.Submitted by Stephanie Renne ([email protected]) on 2007-08-22T00:59:24Z

Quality Management System Admin Module Development: A Study in the Department of Computer Science
Elevating the quality of learning is central to ensuring academic programs align with national standards. One crucial aspect of this process is the semester-based learning planning. Traditionally, the Department of Computer Science orchestrates this planning by creating separate documents for various data points, including courses, CPL (Graduate Learning Outcomes), and CPMK (Course Learning Outcomes), which are then integrated into the RPS (Semester Learning Plan) document each term. This study seeks a solution to enhance the efficiency of such data management through the development of an admin module. The system, designed using the Rapid Test Development (RAD) approach and the Laravel framework, offers a more effective data management solution, subsequently elevating the pedagogical quality of the Department of Computer Science. In conclusion, an integrated approach to data management can make a significant contribution to educational quality. Through this research, the scholarly contribution provided is the introduction of a systematic model in educational data management to boost the efficiency and effectiveness of the learning process in higher education institution
