The responsible fashion company: integrating ethics and aesthetics in the value chain
In The Responsible Fashion Company , Rinaldi and Testa argue that the fashion industry is at a crossroads: the need for a global shift to a sustainable model has never been more urgent. Yet, they demonstrate that we are witnessing a revolution led by conscious consumers and enlightened companies, who are redefining the rules of the fashion market. The question is: when will the rest of the industry catch up?
Rinaldi and Testa raise a fundamental but often neglected issue in the fashion sustainability debate: long-term equilibrium can only be achieved by integrating economic goals with environmental, social and ethical values. The Responsible Fashion Company provides a clear overview of the theory, challenges and opportunities of sustainability in the industry and demonstrates how fashion companies can achieve competitive advantage through sustainable innovation. The authors show how leading fashion companies are challenging traditional thinking and present inspiring examples from pioneers such as Gucci, Levis, Timberland and Brunello Cucinelli, who create quality products without leaving a negative impact behind.
Refreshing and timely, The Responsible Fashion Company is essential reading for the socially conscious consumer and anyone with a professional or personal interest in the fashion, design and luxury industrie

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

The current situation and the risk of a countertrend in Italy
Our research purports to analyze the field of local public services in Italy, focusing in particular on the aspects of strategic and economic development, in the context of the main steps towards privatization and liberalization.
In recent years modalities of competition on the market and for the market have been introduced in this sector. Although the theoretical principles were universally agreed upon, the concrete modalities to achieve such aims did not prove always suitable and this caused a diffused tendency towards a return to a public dimension for some services, or however a decrease in the liberalizing trend.
Moreover, the latest reform law proposed by the Italian government leaves unresolved some critical aspects for the management of public services.
This research aims at understanding how these and other important issues affect the re-definition of the structure of the sector and the level of attraction for potential investors in order to balance the competitive relationships inside the sector

The relevance of economic reasons for governmental choices on renewable energies in Italy
Worldwide investments for the production of electricity from renewable energy have exceeded investments in fossil fuels for power plants. Nevertheless levels of competitiveness of renawable energy are still low compared to conventional sources.
As a consequence forms of public incentives are required for R&D, investment and production.
In Italy energy policies have led to a substantial and progressive increase in installed capacity and gross production of renewable energy. However, we are still far from achieving the objectives set at European level of a share of 20% of energy from renewable sources in gross final consumption by 2020.
The objective of this study is to investigate the economic reasons that should guide the public decision maker, in a scenario where not all investments in renewable energy would have the same real impact on the Italian industrial system and on the economy of the country
