According to this understanding he identifies four modes of Europeanization. Further, he recognizes the establishment of minimum standards and the open method of co-ordination as specific modes of Europeanization. This paper first relates the welfare political goals and problems of both named methods of Europeanization in social welfare politics, then describes the political processes which accompany them, and subsequently tests whether Scharpf’s analysis can be affirmed
Foucault and the Invisible Economy
No full textThis paper discusses the extent to which governmentality provides a critical visibility of the economy beyond its liberal imaginary. It argues that Foucault’s conceptual and historical understanding of liberal governmentality has two traits that encumber a de-centering of the economy from a Foucauldian perspective. The first obstacle results from a persistent asymmetry of the concept of governmentality as it remains solely geared towards replacing the monolithic account of the state. Governmentality is therefore in danger of rendering the economic invisible instead of advancing an analytics of power appropriate to the specificity of this field. The second impediment relates to how Foucault reads the invisibility of the economy asserted in liberal discourse. While Foucault emphasizes how the “invisible hand” imparts a critical limitation towards the sovereign hubris of total sight, the paper unearths a more complex politics of truth tied to the invisible economy. Drawing on selected historical material, the papers shows that the liberal invisibility of the economy rather functions as a prohibitive barrier towards developing novel and critical visibilities of the economy. A Foucauldian perspective on economy, the paper concludes, benefits from piercing through this double invisibility of the economy

No full textBeteiligt sich ein Drittel der Bürger*innen nicht an Wahlen oder wählt erkennbar demokratiefeindliche Parteien, können wir von einer Krise der Formen des politischen Systems sprechen. Wie kommt es dazu, dass Bürger*innen den aktiven Bezug auf die Formen des politischen Systems unterlassen, indem sie nicht wählen? Die vorliegende Schrift kommt anhand einer Betrachtung des Stellenwertes des gemeinsamen Entscheidens als Teil unseres Glücksvermögens im Anschluss an Martha Nussbaum und der Feststellung, dass das politische Entscheiden in der spätmodernen Gesellschaft nach Michael Th. Greven die einzige Möglichkeit darstellt, gesellschaftsweite Verbindlichkeit herzustellen zu der Schlussfolgerung, dass es die Formen des Entscheidens selbst sind, die die Abstinenz herbeiführen. Wie Claude Lefort ausführt, verlieren die Institutionen für die Bürger*innen an Bedeutung, wenn ihre Wirksamkeit im Bezug auf das eigene Leben nachlässt. In der globalen politischen Gesellschaft sind die wichtigsten Fragen, die des persönlichen und kollektiven Überlebens, nicht mehr einzelstaatlich beantwortbar. Es gilt also, von der Weltgesellschaft durch Gründung zu einer globalen politischen Gemeinschaft zu kommen, die unserer Souveränität zu entsprechen vermag. Ein starker Souveränitätsbegriff wird in der Arbeit ebenso entwickelt wie die Vergemeinschaftungsfolie des Konflikts, wie sie um Chantal Mouffe viele vertreten, in die Schranken gewiesen. Der Sieg durch Mehrheit ist demnach keine Möglichkeit. Im Ergebnis wird klar, dass die Welt nur in der unhintergehbaren Verbindung gestaltbar ist und in Folge ihrer Gestaltbarkeit auch die Verantwortung von engagierter Wissenschaft steht, durch Ideenbildung an ihrer Schöpfung teilzunehmen
Der eigene Ort – Safe Place-Arbeit mit essgestörten Jugendlichen in der Integrativen Kinder- und Jugendlichenpsychotherapie
No full textDie vorliegende Arbeit betrachtet das Konzept des Safe Place, wie es im Rahmen der Integrativen Therapie von Katz-Bernstein entwickelt wurde, und differenziert es anhand der klinischen Arbeit mit essgestörten jugendlichen Patientinnen weiter aus. Zunächst werden Diagnose, Ätiologie, Psychodynamik und Psychotherapie von Anorexia Nervosa und Bulimia Nervosa dargestellt, dann das körpertherapeutische Angebot innerhalb der Fachklinik für Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie in Bad Neuenahr erläutert, innerhalb dessen die Arbeit mit dem Safe Place stattfand. Diese wird vertiefend mit Aspekten des „potential space“ (Winnicott), der Bindungstheorie und den immanenten Möglichkeiten zur Abgrenzung in Beziehung gesetzt und anhand von drei Fallbeispielen veranschaulicht.This article discusses the Katz-Bernstein Integrative Therapy Concept of „Safe Place“ and expands it further by application in the treatment of in-patients with eating disorders.The author, a Movement Therapist at the Bad Neuenahr Clinic for Children andAdolescent Psychiatry, describes the Diagnosis, aetiology and Psychotherapy of Anorexia and Bulimia.
