Development of an Audio Visual Tool for Medical Training at Kennedy Space Center
As part of an effort to improve efficiency of space-flight medical support at Kennedy Space Center, a training video was created to replace a series of lectures given before a launch or landing of the Space Shuttle. The video was designed to familiarize volunteer physicians from around the country with the specific emergency response protocols for a Space Shuttle launch or landing emergency at Kennedy Space Center. The methods used were consistent with standard film making techniques as outlined in several film making texts. The Production was divided into three phases; A pre-production phase wherein the research, screenwriting and production planning took place, a Production phase consisting of the actual filming of the various scenes in the script and finally, a post-production phase during which the video was edited, music was added and the finished video screened and copied. The result was that the video was completed in seven months with the participation of over a hundred people. The final video won several awards for educational and government film and met all expectations of the author and the medical department. It was ultimately given to the Aerospace Medicine Residency program at Wright State University and to the medical staff at Kennedy Space Center
ANALISIS TERHADAP JUAL BELI TANAH BERSYARAT MENURUT FIQH MUAMALAH STUDI KASUS DI KECAMATAN DELIMA
Buying and selling is part of ta'awun (mutual help). For buyers to help sellers who need money (profit), while for sellers it also means helping buyers who are in need of goods. Therefore, buying and selling is a noble deed and the culprit gets the pleasure of Allah SWT. Along with the development of the times, there have been many fiqh problems in society which sometimes had never clearly occurred during the time of the Prophet or during the time of the Imams of the school of thought, but when it is related to the principles or basic rules they are actually the same, or even the society is not sufficient. As for what often occurs among the community, the problem of buying and selling conditional land is that those who own land may sell it but have the right to buy it back in Islamic teachings, it is permissible. From the problems mentioned above, the author is interested in conducting a study entitled Analysis of Conditional Sale and Purchase of Land According to Fiqh Muamalah Case Studies in Delima District. The type of research used is qualitative research, the research approach used is an empirical juridical approach. The analytical approach in this study is a qualitative approach, which is a way of analyzing research results that produce descriptive data. The practice of conditional sale and purchase of rice fields that occurs in Delima District, Pidie Regency is an agreement that occurs between two parties between the seller and the buyer, where the land can be bought over by the land owner when it is due in accordance with the agreement that has been agreed upon and Implementation of conditional land sale and purchase practices This is a ba'i al wafa', namely buying and selling that takes place on the condition that the goods being sold can be bought back by the seller if the agreed timeframe has arrived, then this sale and purchase is not allowed because it is not in accordance with the theory of buying and selling in Islamic law, especially if there is no time specified for redemption of the land. Keywords: Sale and Purchase, Conditional Land, Fiqh Muamalat
THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY’S METHODS OF SUPPORTING STATES TO SOLVE REFUGEE PROBLEMS
This article looks into solutions offered by the international community to the countries suffering from a constant influx of refugees and which require international assistance. Refugee migration is a type of forced migration. Since the introduction of international refugee law, the international community has been using one of the three solutions to the refugee problem: voluntary repatriation, local integration and resettlement in a third country. The article regards resettlement in a third country as the main solution to the global refugee problem, which should be used on a large scale. The article also reviews the cases of interference in the developing countries’ internal affairs and the role of such interference in aggravating the refugee problem. Despite the benevolence of the intentions, such as the protection of the refugees’ human rights, this intervention demonstrated the opposite effect in certain cases in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Consequently, the author touches upon the importance of the peaceful ways in solving and preventing the problem of refugees. Finally, the article points out the international community’s new approach to the problem: integration of development projects and refugee support programs in countries needing this type of assistance
Precipitating the decline of terrorist groups : a systems analysis
This thesis shows how a government actor can use systems theory to hasten the decline of a terrorist group. Tle author assumes terrorist groups are social organizations, therefore terrorist groups come to value organizational survival over ideological or programmatic achievements. The same determinants that cause social organizations to decline will cause terrorist organizations to decline. Using systems theory to model terrorism as a system, it is possible to show how to influence these determinants to increase the terrorist group's rate of decline. T'he systems model allows a government actor to build intervention strategies tailored to counter a specific terrorist organization. The government actor can use the model to identify and then target the terrorist's weak points. It also enables the government actor to determine its own strengths and to use them against the terrorist system weak points. Finally, the analysis tests the model against case studies of the Red Brigades in Italy, and the Front De Liberation du Quebec (FLQ) in Canada. A case study of Abu Nidal tests the proposition that terrorist groups, like other social organizations, eventually come to value organizational survival over ideological or programmatic achievements. Treasury yields and corporate bond yield spreads: An empirical analysis Gregory R. Duee
previously circulated under the title The variation of default risk with Treasury yields This paper empirically examines the relation between the Treasury term structure and spreads of investment grade corporate bond yields over Treasuries. I nd that noncallable bond yield spreads fall when the level of the Treasury term structure rises. The extent of this decline depends on the initial credit quality of the bond; the decline is small for Aaa-rated bonds and large for Baa-rated bonds. The role of the business cycle in generating this pattern is explored, as is the link between yield spreads and default risk. I also argue that yield spreads based on commonly-used bond yield indexes are contaminated in two important ways. The rst is that they are refreshed " indexes, which hold credit ratings constant over time; the second is that they usually are constructed with both callable and noncallable bonds. The impact of both of these problems is examined. Identification of a T2-hyperintense Perivascular Space in Brain Arteriovenous Malformations
Background/Aim: Brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are vascular malformations characterized by dysmorphic, aberrant vasculature. During previous surgeries of compact nidus brain AVMs (representing the majority of cases), we have observed a "shiny"plane between nidal and perinidal AVM vessels and the surrounding grey and white matter and hypothesized that preoperative neuroimaging of brain AVMs may show a neuroradiological correlate of these intraoperative observations. Patients and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed and analyzed multiplanar and multisequence 3-Tesla magnetic resonance (3T MR) imaging in five consecutive brain AVMs with special attention on imaging characteristics of the brain-AVM interface, i.e., the perivascular and perinidal regions. Results: In all five patients, we identified T2-hypertinense perivascular perinidal spaces, which were predominantly observed around the AVM nidus and less prominently around the feeding arteries or draining veins. Conclusion: The identification of T2-hypertinense perivascular spaces surrounding brain AVMs on neuroradiological imaging may provide insights into the anatomico-radiological relationships of brain AVMs and the surrounding grey and white matter parenchyma. These findings could have future implications for our understanding of brain AVM biology and may influence neurosurgical approaches to these lesions. © 2025 The Author(s)
Statistical Analysis of Descending Open Cycles of Collatz Function
Collatz dynamic systems present a statistical space that can be studied rigorously. In a previous study, the author presented Collatz space in a unique dynamic numerical mode by tabulating a sequential correlation pattern of division by 2 of Collatz function’s even numbers until the numbers became odd with a consecutive occurrence, following an attribute of a 50:50 probability of division by 2 once (ascending behavior) as opposed to division by 2 more than once (descending behavior). In this paper, we describe the path of the Collatz function as sequences comprised of groups of the function’s iterates (open cycles) that end up with the first odd integer that is less than the starting odd integer. The descending behavior of the open cycles is attributed to a deterministic factor as observation of the cycles’ sequences shows. We do statistical analysis on 4 large samples of open cycles and orbits to 1. We define R(n) as the cycles’ deterministic variable defined as the ratio of division by 2 once to division by 2 more than once. We use statistical analysis to study the randomness of the orbits of the cycles’ starting odd positive integers as well as orbits to 1 up to 1,002,097,149

Modern Arabic Modern Composition of Auditory Template: An Analytical Study
This research aims to shed light on the modern Arabic composition of the auditory template, and to identify the most important developments that occurred in the auditory template among Arab authors during the last quarter of the twentieth century and until now, through analyzing a selected group of Arabic auditory works, which we took into account in their selection the differences in time, place, and author. The research concluded with a set of results, the most important of which was the departure of Arab composers from the traditional form of composition in the auditory template, its formula and structure, through the use of melodic harmonies, the expansion of the vocal space, in addition to melodic phrases that depend on tonal and maqam transformation, fast rhythmic forms, and the construction of the stanzas in a manner that is consistent with modern musical composition, which is based on the use of modern techniques in playing Arabic instruments in musical composition
