Within this context, the hospital accreditation model has emerged as a tool for quality management, aiming at the standardization of patient care or client through the standardization and classification of hospitals into three distinct levels, wich are: Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3.Thus in 1999, it was published the first manual of the Brazilian National Accreditation Organizations (ONA, 2010). On these issues this master's dissertation was elaborated to the University of Professional Master of Business Administration, a study case conducted at the University Hospital Polidoro Ernany de São Thiago - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (HU-UFSC). The variables analyzed were: Hospital Accreditation, Organizational Culture and Internal Marketing. The sample followed two distinct moments: initially a semi-structured interview was conducted, intensive and intentional, with a group of 14 leaders first step at HU-UFSC. In the sequency, we applied a structured questionnaire and treated in a probabilistic manner, the Ukert Type, to 268 servers working in this hospital. The period of data collection was from January through March, 2012. The treatment techniques of quantitative and qualitative data were: Quantitative data formulated in an Excel spreadsheet and processed by SPSS®. And added to secondary sources that value the search. It is concluded that the UFSC-HU hospital is considered to have a good to a very good quality of health care and assistance by the research participants and requires some steps that addresses the Hospital Accreditation Level 1, such as strengthening the general communication and especially the strengthening of professional relationships between managers and servers, the communication tool most marked by the participants to contribute in the process of sensltl7atlon to Hospital Accreditation. Also it was mentioned the promotion of lectures on the program and constant meetings on the topic. It is thought that the environment for the implementation of the Hospital Accreditation, Level 1, seems to be favorable to stan this process, since the internal marketing techniques and tools are correctly applied, aiming on reshaping a positive culture addressed to an organizational level, the Brazilian Manual of Hospital Accreditation (ONA, 2010)

Guo (TARI); 1 female, Chun-jih, Ta-han shan, ± ÀƜ, 1350m, 2019,V-13 (Night), Y.- T. Chung Leg. CCCC (FSHc); 1 female, Majia Forest Trail (ṞxIJǎ), Majia To., 28-VI-2017, leg. R. H. Liu (FSHc); 1 spec., CCCC, Tahanshan (± ÀƜ), 15.IV.2019. leg. Y.- T. Chung (TARI). Description. For male description see Smetana & Hu (2019). Female. Genital segment. Tergite 10 (Fig. 6) obviously different from male tergite 10. Apical portion of female tergite 10 markedly narrow and elongated, with narrow acute apical portion; setae are relatively concentrated on the apex. Diagnosis. Apecholinus imitator can be distinguished from all other species of Apecholinus in Taiwan by the golden-yellow tomentose setae on the body. An undescribed species of Apecholinus in Taiwan is similar to this species but it currently known only from a single female, so I refrain from describing it until male specimens are found. The patches of golden-yellow tomentose pubescence on the elytra of Ap. imitator are much larger than that of the undescribed species. Bionomics. Based on an import of locality name into Google Earth from collection data (Smetana & Hu 2019 and this study), the species occurs from 800–1700 m. One specimen of Ap. imitator was collected by pitfall trap but nothing known about the habitat the traps were set in; some specimens of Ap. imitator were attracted to an LED flashlight in the evening on a forest trail (Smetana & Hu 2019). Distribution. Apecholinus imitator is at present known from central and southern Taiwan including Nantou County, Taitung County and Pingtung County (Smetana & Hu 2019, this study). Remarks. Up to the present, the morphology of females in Apecholinus is poorly known. So far, only females of Ap. fraternus (see Smetana 2018), Ap. liui (He & Zhou, 2017) (see He & Zhou 2017) and Ap. kaiseri Bernhauer, 1933 (see Smetana 2003) had been described and female tergite 10 of these species is similar to that of the male. However, the apical portion of tergite 10 of Ap. imitator is much narrower and more elongate in females than in males.Published as part of Hu, Fang-Shuo, 2020, New distributional records of Staphylinina in Taiwan, including a new species of Miobdelus Sharp (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Staphylininae: Staphylinini), pp. 334-360 in Zootaxa 4768 (3) on page 337, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4768.3.2, http://zenodo.org/record/378403

HIV-1 infection and CD4 T cell depletion in the humanized Rag2-/-γc-/- (RAG-hu) mouse model

Abstract Background The currently well-established humanized mouse models, namely the hu-PBL-SCID and SCID-hu systems played an important role in HIV pathogenesis studies. However, despite many notable successes, several limitations still exist. They lack multi-lineage human hematopoiesis and a functional human immune system. These models primarily reflect an acute HIV infection with rapid CD4 T cell loss thus limiting pathogenesis studies to a short-term period. The new humanized Rag2-/-γc-/- mouse model (RAG-hu) created by intrahepatic injection of CD34 hematopoietic stem cells sustains long-term multi-lineage human hematopoiesis and is capable of mounting immune responses. Thus, this model shows considerable promise to study long-term in vivo HIV infection and pathogenesis. Results Here we demonstrate that RAG-hu mice produce human cell types permissive to HIV-1 infection and that they can be productively infected by HIV-1 ex vivo. To assess the capacity of these mice to sustain long-term infection in vivo, they were infected by either X4-tropic or R5-tropic HIV-1. Viral infection was assessed by PCR, co-culture, and in situ hybridization. Our results show that both X4 and R5 viruses are capable of infecting RAG-hu mice and that viremia lasts for at least 30 weeks. Moreover, HIV-1 infection leads to CD4 T cell depletion in peripheral blood and thymus, thus mimicking key aspects of HIV-1 pathogenesis. Additionally, a chimeric HIV-1 NL4-3 virus expressing a GFP reporter, although capable of causing viremia, failed to show CD4 T cell depletion possibly due to attenuation. Conclusion The humanized RAG-hu mouse model, characterized by its capacity for sustained multi-lineage human hematopoiesis and immune response, can support productive HIV-1 infection. Both T cell and macrophage tropic HIV-1 strains can cause persistent infection of RAG-hu mice resulting in CD4 T cell loss. Prolonged viremia in the context of CD4 T cell depletion seen in this model mirrors the main features of HIV infection in the human. Thus, the RAG-hu mouse model of HIV-1 infection shows great promise for future in vivo pathogenesis studies, evaluation of new drug treatments, vaccines and novel gene therapy strategies.</p

Performance Evaluation of Distributed-Antenna Communications Systems Using Beam-Hopping

    No full text
Digital beamforming (DBF) techniques are capable of improving the performance of communications systems significantly. However, if the transmitted signals are conflicted with strong interference, especially, in the direction of the transmitted beams , these directional jamming signals will severely degrade the system performance. In order to efficiently mitigate the interference of the directional jammers, in this contribution a beam-hopping (BH) communications scheme is proposed. In the proposed BH communications scheme, only one pair of the beams is used for transmission and it hops from one to the next according to an assigned BH pattern. In this contribution a range of expressions in terms of the average SINR performance have been derived, when both the uplink and downlink are considered. The average SINR performance of the proposed BH scheme and that of the conventional single-beam (SB) as well as multiple-beam (MB) assisted beam-processing schemes have been investigated. Our analysis and results show that the proposed BH scheme is capable of efficiently combating the directional jamming, with the aid of utilizing the directional gain of the beams generated by both the transmitter and the receiver. Furthermore, the BH scheme is capable of reducing the intercept probability of the communications. Therefore, the proposed BH scheme is suitable for communications, when several distributed antenna arrays are available around a mobile
