Temu putih : tanaman obat anti kanker
Kepopuleran temu putih ada pula yang menyebutnya kunyit putih dikalangan masyarakat pengguna obat tradisional tak lepas dari khasiatnya sebagai obat antikanker. Namun, ada kesimpangsiuran berkaitan dengan penanamannya.Masyarakat pun kebingunan untuk menentukan jenis temu putih yang berkhasiat antikanker. PENGARUH PUPUK N DAN POPULASI TANAMAN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI JAHE PADA LINGKUNGAN TUMBUH YANG BERBEDA
Kondisi lingkungan tumbuh, baik iklim maupun kesuburan lahan, serta teknik budidaya sangat berpengaruh terhadap pertum-buhan dan produktivitas tanaman jahe. Tujuan penelitian untuk mempelajari respon jahe putih besar (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) terhadap pemupukan N dan populasi tanaman pada lingkungan tumbuh yang berbeda. Penelitian dilaksanakan di dusun Cipanas, dengan ke-tinggian 500 m di atas permukaan laut (dpl) dan di dusun Cipicung (800 m dpl) Desa Werasari, Kecamatan Bantarujeg, Kabupaten Majalengka, Jawa Barat. Penelitian dimulai Agustus 2004 sampai dengan Juli 2005, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari enam kombinasi taraf pemupukan N dan populasi tanaman masing masing N1P1 (400 kg Urea/ha - 41.667 tanaman/ha), N1P2 (400 kg Urea/ha - 55.556 tanaman/ha), N2P1 (500 kg Urea/ha - 41.667 tanaman/ha), N2P2 (500 kg Urea/ha-55.556 tanaman/ha), N3P1 (600 kg Urea/ha - 41.667 tanaman/ha), dan N3P2 (600 kg Urea/ha - 55.556 tanaman/ha). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan agroklimat dan kesuburan menghasilkan bobot segar, jumlah anakan dan tinggi tanaman berbeda. Tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan dan bobot segar di Cipanas adalah 74,69 cm, 16,48 anakan dan 55,89 t/ha, sedangkan di Cipicung masing-masing 42,26 cm, 5,31 anakan dan 7,69 t/ha. Kecukupan hara N pada lahan percobaan khususnya di Cipanas menyebabkan respon tanaman jahe terhadap pemupukan N yang diberikan tidak nyata. Perlakuan populasi yang lebih tinggi sampai 55,556 tanaman/ha mampu meningkatkan produksi jahe sekitar 35 (dari 47,79 t/ha menjadi 64,83 t/ha).
Karakterisasi Beberapa Aksesi Serai Wangi (Cymbopogon nardus L.) Asal Cianjur
Serai wangi (Cymbopogon nardus L.) merupakan tanaman aromatik yang kaya akan kandungan senyawa kimia penting terutama sitronela. Minyak atsiri dari tanaman serai wangi sering digunakan sebagai bahan baku utama berbagai industri. Perakitan varietas-varietas unggul serai wangi masih sangat diperlukan dalam rangka upaya peningkatan produksi serai wangi nasional. Pemanfaatan aksesi-aksesi dari sentra produksi serai wangi seperti Cianjur diharapkan dapat mendukung program pemuliaan serai wangi secara efektif dan efisien. Informasi genetik dari aksesi-aksesi lokal dapat diketahui melalui kegiatan karakterisasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakter morfologi kualitatif dan kuantitatif beberapa aksesi serai wangi hasil eksplorasi dari daerah Cianjur, Jawa Barat. Materi genetik yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 10 aksesi Cianjur (SC1, SC2, SC3, SC4, SC5, SC6, SC7, SC8, SC9, dan SC10). Karakter yang diamati berupa karakter kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Dari hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa aksesi SC1 merupakan aksesi terbaik dari Cianjur yang memiliki keunggulan pada semua karakter kuantitatif yang diamati terutama karakter panjang daun, tinggi batang, diameter batang, dan aroma daun yang tajam. Sekitar 75% karakter kuantitatif serai wangi Cianjur menunjukkan hasil korelasi antar karakter yang positif. Aksesi-aksesi dari Cianjur memiliki ciri-ciri yang sama yaitu batang berwarna VG 84B, pangkal daun berbentuk cekung, dan permukaan daun berwarna GGN 138C. Aksesi SC1 dan SC5 memiliki hubungan kekerabatan yang jauh dan berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai tetua persilangan
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
