    This research is in the background by the weakness of student learning motivation in the teaching and learning process, one of which is characterized by students tend to be passive and less enthusiastic. The purpose of the study was to find out whether there was an effect of giving reinforcement to students 'learning motivation and how much influence the giving of reinforcement on students' learning motivation. The approach in this study is quantitative with the type of experimental research, the design of this study is pre-experimental. The pre-experimental design used in this study was one pretest-posttest group. The subjects in this study were 27 grade V students of SDN 018 Rantau Sialang with 8 men and 19 women. The variables in this study are the variables of giving reinforcement and student motivation. Data collection using documentation and questionnaires. Validity test using Pearson product moment formula and reliability test using Alpha formula. The analysis prerequisite test used the normality test with the Kolmogrov-Smirnov One Sample test using SPSS 17.0 for windows. Hypothesis testing uses the t test with the help of SPSS and the last effect test. The results showed that there was an effect of giving reinforcement to students' learning motivation, as evidenced by the results of the t test at a significant level of 1% and 5% namely tcount> ttable or at level 1% (7,751> 1,298) at the level of 5% (7,751> 1,674). Calculation of the effect test (effect size) obtained by ES is 3.146, this figure is included in the high category because the effect size is more than 0.8. It was concluded that giving reinforcement had an effect on the learning motivation of V grade students of SDN 018 Rantau Sialang Kecamatan Kuantan Mudik Kabupaten Kuansing with a high categor

    Penggunaan media pembelajaran matematika yang berbasis budaya dapat membantu guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran karena berkaitan dengan budaya yang ada di lingkungan sekitar sehingga dapat meningkatkan minat siswa. Pembelajaran matematika yang memasukkan unsur budaya disebut Etnomatematika. Untuk itu, perlu dilakukan inovasi yaitu dengan mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang berbasis etnomatematika di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang valid dan praktis. Media yang dikembangkan yaitu komadi (Komik matematika digital) berbasis etnomatematika pada materi geometri di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan atau R&D dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE, yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan media pembelajaran komadi (komik matematika digital) berbasis etnomatematika pada materi geometri valid dan praktis dengan hasil uji validitas 91,66% dengan kategori sangat valid, uji praktikalitas siswa 92,27% dengan kategori sangat praktis dan pada uji praktikalitas guru 94,44% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran komadi (komik matematika digital) berbasis etnomatematika dapat dikembangkan dan layak untuk digunakan pada proses pembelajaran materi geometri dikelas V Sekolah Dasar

    Matematika merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang ditakuti oleh beberapa siswa. Hal-hal negatif muncul ketika berhadapan dengan matematika berupa kurangnya kemandirian dalam belajar. Kemandirian dalam belajar melatih siswa untuk tidak bergantung kepada orang lain, melainkan melakukan suatu usaha untuk mencapai apa yang diinginkan. Siswa yang mampu berusaha dan berjuang dalam menghadapi kesulitan serta mengarahkan segala potensi yang dimiliki untuk memberikan hasil yang terbaik berarti siswa tersebut memiliki tingkat adversity quotient yang tinggi. Adversity quotient adalah kemampuan yang dimiliki seseorang untuk berjuang menghadapi dan mengatasi masalah. Sehubungan dengan permasalahan tersebut, maka penulis melakukan penelitian terhadap siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri 37 Pekanbaru dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara adversity quotient dengan kemandirian belajar matematika siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan motode penelitian korelasional. Jumlah populasi penelitian sebesar 176 siswa dan sampel penelitian sebesar 64 responden. Pengumpulan data dilakukan berupa angket. Berdasarkan hasil olahan data didapat koefisien korelasi sebesar |0,613| dengan thitung sebesar 6,109 yang menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan antara adversity quotient dengan kemandirian belajar matematika siswa siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri 37 Pekanbaru yang mempunyai kekuatan hubungan tinggi (kuat) serta sifat hubungannya positif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan terdapat hubungan adversity quotient dengan kemandirian belajar matematika siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar Negeri 37 Pekanbaru.  Kata Kunci:     korelasi, adversity quotient, kemandirian belajar matematik

    KESULITAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL OPERASI PENJUMLAHAN PECAHAN STUDI KASUS DI KELAS V SDN 67 PEKANBARU

    Fractions had been applied in daily life and become a prerequisite in learning mathematics, therefore students have to mastered fractions. Many studies state that learning fractions classified as a difficult topic including fraction addition. The aim of this study was to determine difficulties of fifth grade students of SDN 67 Pekanbaru in solving fraction addition problems, and to determine factors that cause their experiencing difficulties in learning addition of fractions. The method of this study was a mixed method. The results showed that many students got difficulties in solving the tasks. The study also showed that the difficulties were experienced by studens in completing addition of fractions including mastering the concept of addition of fractions with 71.43% error. The students were not mastering the prerequisite knowledge of multiplication with 47.29% error, and was not able to complete problem solving tasks of adding fractions with 42.53% error. The factors that cause students experiences the difficulties in completing adding fractions are the lack of students’ motivation, students were low on interest of learning mathematics since they assume that mathematics is a difficult subject.  Keywords: addition of fraction problem solving  students’ difficultie

    The research aim to examine effect of model cotextual teaching and learning(CTL) for improved student’s retention in sience learning. Contextual teachingand learning (CTL) was a concept which help the teacher to make world and thelearning was connected. The CTL was identically with presented real things in theclassroom. Instead retention were a memory of information who can be rememberafter ths students do the learning. One group pre-test-post-test design were usedto analyze data. 12 weeks after posttest the retest were do for analyze thestudent’s retention. The result proved the Model Cotextual Teaching AndLearning (CTL) were significantly influenced the student’s retention in siencelearning at fifth class SDN 130 Pekanbaru City. Mean of student’s retention inthis research is up to 130 % with ’very good’ cretheria. Furthermore, thecotextual teaching and learning (CTL) was identified dominantly influence thestudent’s memory or retention.     This study aims to describe generally about the effects of using Trimino Mathematical Model of Cooperative Learning on the results of mathematics, especially for the first grade students of SDN Tarai Bangun. The method used is to analyze and interpret experiments clearly about the conditions that exist in the field. The data collection techniques used were direct observation of the experiment as the subject of research. The results of this study can be concluded that learning through trimino mathematical model cause differences improvement of students’ mathematics learning outcomes significantly between the experimental class and control class. The attitude of the students based on the scale of attitudes about learning initiative, set a goal of learning, motivation, behavior (self), find and utilize relevant learning resources, evaluate the process and outcomes of learning.     Analisis Tingkat Resiliensi Akademik Berbasis Gender Siswa Kelas V Sekolah Dasar di Pekanbaru

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat resiliensi akademik siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan, serta untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat resiliensi akademik berbasis gender siswa kelas V sekolah dasar di Pekanbaru. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode komparatif. Subjek penelitian ini ada 1 kelas dari kelas V dengan jumlah siswa 25 orang 10 diantaranya siswa laki-laki dan 15 lainnya siswa perempuan. Resiliensi akademik siswa diukur dengan menggunakan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil pengujian uji-t diperoleh signifikansi 0,622 > 0,05 sehingga h0 diterima dan ha di tolak. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tingkat resiliensi akademik siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan kelas V sekolah dasar di Pekanbaru

    This research aims to figure out whether there is a comparison of math anxiety and interest in learning mathematics for male and female elementary school students in Pekanbaru. The method used in this research is the comparative survey method. The subjects of this research were 129 students (70 men and 59 women) from 3 schools in Pekanbaru. This research obtained that male students' math anxiety (72.9) was higher than female students (63.1) and male students' interest in learning mathematics (76.09) was also higher than female students (51. .85). The findings of this research show that there is a significant difference in math anxiety and interest in learning mathematics between male and female students

    Isu Gender dalam Buku Bergambar Matematika Rancangan Calon Guru Sekolah Dasar

    This study aims to analyse the gender issue presented in pre-service elementary teacher-designed mathematics picture books (BBM). Thirteen BBMs are analysed based on male and female characters presented in the titles, pictures in the cover, main characters, and a number of pictures, conversations, and words in book contents. The findings show that the male characters are presented 1.79 times more often than the female characters. The numbers of pictures, conversations, and words in the book contents for males is 1.79; 1.99; and 1.79 consecutively times more often than the female characters. Meanwhile, each of the two BBMs presents only male or female characters. The implications of this study indicate that gender is still an important issue in BBM being developed.

    Interactive Learning Media (ILM) has been developed to represent base of number concept turn into more interactive and meaningful learning. The first design of ILM is multimedia supported computer that explore number concept in existing conceptual. Pre-service elementary teachers should be provided with the learning that can optimize the number conceptions. To collect and analyse data comprehensively, researchers developed a 4D developing method which has comprehensive stages: define, design, develop, and desseminate. The 4D developing stage has been utilized to describe ILM comprehensively. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that ILM could effectively improve pre-service teachers‟ conceptual understanding and could facilitate self-study of pre-service elementary teachers about number concept
