Overview of Indonesian Islamic Education: A Social, Historical and Political Perspective
The aim of this study is to examine how the historical genealogy of Islamic educational tradition, particularly the tradition of teaching and learning, has contributed to the development of Islamic education in Indonesia. By drawing together in an analytic way a historically based description of the social and political circumstances surrounding Indonesian Islamic education, the study discusses some significant issues concerning the religious base, knowledge base, structural form, and the pedagogical approach of Indonesian Islamic education, all of which are important to the development of a modern form of Islamic education.
The argument of the thesis is that the existing values of the Islamic tradition in education, particularly evident in Madrasah schools, provide a valuable basis for further developing and reconstructing an effective Islamic education system in Indonesia. However, there is also a strong need to construct an Islamic education curriculum in Indonesia that can meet the challenge posed by the circumstances generally understood as 'modernity'. The quality of teaching and learning in the Madrasah are very much influenced by the quality of the wider Islamic education programme. Any change in the curriculum of Islamic education will thus have significant effects on the quality of the Madrasah schools in Indonesia. This thesis will thus conclude by suggesting some implications for further development of Islamic education that arise from the study.
This is a qualitative study using an historical genealogical approach to discover, understand and analyze the challenges currently facing Islamic education In Indonesia. The techniques for collecting data involved, primarily, a critical reading of historical and contemporary policy documents. Primary and secondary sources were also collected, studied and subjected to a critical reading in the production of this account of Indonesian Islamic education

Rancang Bangun Lane Keeping Controller Pada Prototipe Autonomous Car Dengan Metode Model Predictive Control

Autonomous car is a technology that could help human to drive, and is one of the solutions to reduce traffic accident. One of the basic functions of autonomous car is lane keeping controller. Lane keeping controller control vehicle’s steering to keep the vehicle driving on the track. Author designed a lane keeping controller on an autonomous car prototype using model predictive control. Model predictive control (MPC) used to calculate the optimum steering angle based on lateral error and the model used. Reference trajectory as an input for the MPC obtained from image processing towards images captured by camera. Prototype’s turning curvature is lower than trajectory curvature which made lateral error increasing before prototype started to turn, and decreasing after turning. Designed lane keeping controller could keep the prototype to stay on track until 0.27 m-1 curvature with 8.86 cm maximum lateral eror fulfilling the target which is under 11.15 cm

Water Turbidity Impact on Discharge Decrease of Groundwater Recharge in Recharge Reservoir
AbstractThe need for groundwater supply is increasing. However, with excessive exploitation, the groundwater table has drawn down, and thus resulted in land subsidence, seawater intrusion and groundwater deterioration. In order to maintain the groundwater supply, various attempts, such as the use of natural or artificial recharges, have been done. One of the artificial recharging methods which were previously studied was recharge reservoir construction in the soils with permeability less than 10-5 cm3/sec using a sand column. However, sedimentation could occur at a site where the recharge reservoir was constructed. Therefore, the levels of water turbidity, which could lead to sedimentation and blockage of groundwater flow (seepage), should be investigated. This research aimed to investigate the rate of blockage impact resulting from sedimentation in the sand column. More specifically, the aim of the research was to determine what types of sand column should be used in the field to minimize the groundwater problems. Experimental tests were carried out in the laboratory to measure the discharge of seepage through the soil layers and the sand column. The size of the physical model testing instrument was 180cm x 115cm x 60cm with 12 pieces of the sand column (35cm high), the reservoir water level of 10cm, and three variations of water turbidity and deposition time. The research revealed that the higher the water turbidity, and the longer the period of deposition, the less the flow rate of groundwater recharge. As a result, turbid water should be prevented to infiltrate sand columns in recharge reservoirs
