    One of the method to solve the environment issue in the usage of nonbiodegradable plastic is by using biodegradable packaging. Edible film is a thin layer which is covers the food. In this research, edible film was made from mixture of soybean extract with starch and glycerol. The process of making edible films was started with producing soybean protein extract or producing soy milk. Soy milk was added with tapioca flour and glyserol ( 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 ml ). Then, the mixture was stirred by using magnetic stirer, formed and dried in the oven at the temperature of 40 °C ± 2 days. After that, the characteristics of edible film (thickness, tensile strength and elongation at break) was checked. The results of research shows that the addition of glycerol influenced was the edible film’s thickness, tensile strength and elongation at break. The thickness was obtained from the increasing of the addition glycerol. They are 0,208 mm; 0,228 mm; 0,248 mm; 0,274 mm and 0,294 mm. The tensile strength decreased if the thickness of the edible film increase. They were 0,105 MPa; 0,134 MPa; 0,088 MPa; 0,072 MPa and 0,048 MPa. The elongation at break which was obtained will increase by increasing of edible film’s thickness. They were 1,839%; 3,270%; 3,842%; 5,779%, and 6,158%. With our perseverance and hard work, we finally succeeded in finishing this Management of Business Records project. The time spent in researching and debating the concepts was worthwhile. First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to Ms. Suriani Binti Jack, an IMR652 lecturer at University Teknologi Mara Kampus Samarahan in Sarawak, who taught our Management of Business Records (IMR652) course. She had given us instructions on how to finish this task. She always reminds the students and provides instructions on how to do this assignment. Then, we would want to express our gratitude to all of our friends for their assistance and ideas. They also offered us ideas and a helping hand. Many people, especially those on our team, have provided valuable feedback on this work, inspiring us to enhance it.     The Effect of Performance-Based Budgeting Implementation towards the Institution Performance Accountability (Case Study: Wajo)

    This study aimed at finding out empirical evidences whether the application of performance-based budgeting affected the performance accountability of Wajo government, seeing the effects of the application of performance-based budgeting to performance accountability of government agencies using four variables, namely, the budget planning (X1), the implementation of the budget (X2), the budget reporting/accountability (X3), and the performance evaluation (X4). In this study, the samples were 100 people. They are from 33 regional work units (SKPD) which consists of a team of Local Government Budget (TAPD) who involved in formatting the government budgets of Wajo regency. Data were collected through direct observation and survey obtained by distribution of questionnaires to the respondents. This study used multiple linear regression models with software SPSS. The study results showed that the budget planning and the budget reporting / accountability gave positive and significant impacts on performance accountability of government agencies, the implementation of the budget and the performance evaluation. It is shown from the results of multiple linear regression test which showed Y = 7.904 + 0.223 X1 + 0.222 X2 + 1.433 + 0.227 X3 X4. In conclusion, the application of performance-based budgeting gave positive effects on performance accountability of government agencies

    This study looks at whether public university colleges are aware of the presence of sick building syndrome in their everyday lives and are prepared to prevent it in order to establish a healthier environment. The aims of this research are to raise awareness about sick building syndrome and give recommendations that students may simply implement. Many students are concerned about the long-term effects of being in an unhealthy facility. The objective of this research is to analyse the factor of sick building syndrome occurrence and to recommend preventive measures that can be applied by student. Furthermore, using a questionnaire and scientific measurement as data collection methods, both objectives of analysing the factor of sick building syndrome occurrence and recommending preventative measures for sick buildings may be met. Moreover, based on the questionnaire that has been answer by student and scientific measurement that has been carried, it shown that important to be aware of the danger of sick building syndrome in daily life. As an outcome of this research, the recommendation that have been develop for this research are, the ventilation and air distribution rates will be increased, dust will be controlled, and a campaign and event for sick building syndrome will be held

    There are many approaches in monitoring landslides, but Close Range Photogrammetry (CRP) provides mapping achieved almost in real-time at a low cost compared with another approach. CRP is a conception technology which is used to acquire 3D spatial information on objects in inaccessible areas. The method concerns camera calibration, which includes a process of the determination of the right parameters of the camera. The information is obtained through accurate assessment and used to create a 3D model which would be used for monitoring technique applications. In this study, calibration of the digital camera was performed using PhotoModeler Pro 5. A good calibration will have many points marked. Field observations of the on-site survey were carried out over a monitoring area in Parit, Seri Iskandar, Perak. The landslide can be detected by the calculation of two different epoch data achieved from the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) generation.     Novel methods for fatigue data editing for horizontal axis wind turbine blades

    Wind turbine blades are the most critical components of wind turbines. Full-scale blade fatigue testing is required to verify that the blades possess the strength and service life specified in the design. Unfortunately, the test must be run for a long time period. This problem led the blade testing laboratories to accelerate fatigue testing time. To achieve the objective, this thesis proposes two novel methods called STFT- and WT-based fatigue damage part extracting methods which are based on short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and wavelet transform (WT), respectively. For WT, different wavelet functions which are Morl, Meyr, Dmey, Mexh and DB30 are studied. An aerodynamic computer code, HAWTsimulator, based on blade element momentum theory has been developed. This code is used to generate the sets of aerodynamic loads acting along the span of a ‘SERI-8 wind turbine blade’ in the range of wind speed from cut-in to cut-out. SERI-8 blades are installed on 65 kW wind turbines. Each set of aerodynamic loads is applied on the finite element model of the SERI-8 blade in structural software (ANSYS) to generate a plot of von Mises stress at the critical point on the blade versus wind speed. By relating this relationship to the wind speed data, the stress-time history at the critical point on the SERI-8 blade can be generated. It has the same sampling rate and length as the wind speed data. A concept of applying accumulative power spectral density (AccPSD) distribution with time to identify fatigue damage events contained in the stress-time history has been introduced in this thesis. For STFT, AccPSD is the sum of power spectral density (PSD) of each frequency band at each time interval in the spectrogram. For WT, AccPSD is the sum of PSD of wavelet coefficients of each scale at each time interval in the scalogram. It has been found that the locations of AccPSD spikes imply where the fatigue damage events are. Based on an appropriate AccPSD level called a cutoff level, the fatigue damage events can be identified at time location of the stress-time history. A fatigue computer code, HAWTfatigue, based on stress-life approach and Miner’s linear cumulative damage rule has been developed. Basically, the code is used for evaluating the fatigue damage and service lifetime of horizontal axis wind turbine blade. In addition, the author has implemented STFT- and WT-based fatigue damage part extracting methods into the code. Fatigue damage parts are extracted from the stress time history and they are concatenated to form the edited stress-time history. The effectiveness of STFT- and WTbased algorithms is performed by comparing the reduction in length and the difference in fatigue damage per repetition of the edited stress-time histories generated by STFT and WT to those of the edited stress-time history generated by an existing method, Time Correlated Fatigue Damage (TCFD) used by commercial software. The findings of this research project are as follows: 1. The comparison of the reduction in length of the edited stress-time histories generated by TCFD, STFT and WT indicates that WT with the Mexh wavelet has the maximum reduction of 20.77% in length with respect to the original length, followed by Meyr (20.24%), Dmey (19.70%), Morl (19.66%), DB30 (19.19%), STFT (15.38%), and TCFD (10.18%), respectively. 2. The comparison of the retained fatigue damage per repetition in the edited stress-time histories generated by TCFD, STFT and WT indicates that TCFD has the retained fatigue damage per repetition less than the original fatigue damage per repetition by 0.076%, followed by Mexh (0.068%), DB30 (0.063%), STFT (0.045%), Meyr (0.032%), Dmey (0.014%), and Morl (0.013%), respectively. 3. Both comparison of reduction in length and comparison in the retained fatigue damage per repetition of the edited stress-time histories suggest that WT is the best method for extracting fatigue damage parts from the given stress-time history. It has also been indicated that not only do STFT and WT improve accuracy of fatigue damage per repetition retained in the edited stress-time histories, but also they provide the length of the edited stress-time histories shorter than TCFD does. Thus, STFT and WT are useful methods for performing accelerated fatigue tests. 4. It has been found that STFT is controlled by two main factors which are window size and cutoff level. Also, WT is controlled by three main factors which are wavelet decomposition level, cutoff level and wavelet type. To conclude, the edited stress-time history can be used by blade testing laboratories to accelerate fatigue testing time. STFT- and WT-based fatigue damage part extracting methods proposed in this thesis are suggested as alternative methods in accelerating fatigue testing time, especially for the field of wind turbine engineering

    SERI Surgical Scaffold as an Adjunct to Conventional Brachioplasty

    Summary: Although the popularity of longitudinal brachioplasty has grown tremendously in recent years, dealing with the unpredictable scar remains a challenge for the surgeon and the patient. The scar often heals slowly and widens over time, perpetuated by the effects of gravity, body movements, and the thin nature of the superficial fascial system (SFS) of the arm. Scar widening may correlate with recurrence of the soft-tissue deformity as the repaired underlying SFS stretches. Therefore, techniques that support and stabilize the SFS are highly desirable for addressing the problematic scar. In the present case, the author used a silk-derived surgical scaffold (SERI) as an adjunct to conventional brachioplasty. SERI provided the requisite support for the patient’s SFS, resulting in a faster maturation process and a better-quality scar. This stands in stark contrast to the majority of longitudinal brachioplasty results reported in the medical literature
