Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. Article deals with the nature and components of the “productive” thinking in psychology. Various science approaches launched in psychological and pedagogical to disclosing the characteristics of the mind and intellect of man are reserched. It was shown state of the problem of intellectual education of psychologists (special, medical). Special attention is given to theories of exploration and development criteria of intellectual education, optimal methods complex of psychological diagnosis, which makes determining the level of intelligence, the development program for the development of this component of education and the definition of psychological effectiveness of programs designed to improve the activities of psychologists (special, clinical) to it. The theoretical and practical foundations of psychological assistance to a person who aspires to become a person through mastering the basics of intellectual activity in all areas of their lives, including in valeological.
In order to develop "productive" thinking database design tasks aimed at establishing qualitative changes in the development of certain parties and manifestations of mental activity psychologists (special, medical), which ensured their life of self-values and system values, orientation and awareness of the needs, motivations and interest, subjectivity of behavior, ability to responsibility, act independently and to react adequately in different situations. The article deals with theoretical and methodological foundations of modern methodology of teaching psychology in the context of special psychologists’ education. Historical teaching experience of indicated discipline in domestic and foreign universities is reviwed. The present historical and pedagogical analysis of students’ training and introduction of modern methodology of teaching psychology as a training discipline of special and clinical psychologists initiated by Academician of NAPS of Ukraine, Viktor Synov and his scientific school is delightened. The nature and structure of discipline are viewed. Професійна підготовка психологів у сфері спеціальної освіти
Get PDFThe article deals with foundations of modern research in the context of special education psychologists. The problem of professional training of psychologists in the field of special education is firstly comprehensively studied on the basis of humanistic, axiological, epistemological, acmeological, systemic, contextual, integrative, activity, reflexive-activity, and personality-oriented approaches. The methodological aspects of this professional training have been developed and the training itself has been presented as a holistic systemic phenomenon in the educational space of higher pedagogical education. The essence of the training has been examined in various ways and on the basis of this training its classification characteristics, levels and systemic and structural components have been determined. This article also defines the content, organizational and pedagogical conditions and criteria for assessing the levels of formation of these components. What the article aims at is to highlight and characterize the key parts of the system of the phenomenon under investigation and to describe their interactions in the functions and forms of the investigated activity. It also develops and scientifically substantiates the methodology of research of the state of formation of the components of psychologist professional training. The essence of the modern technologies in higher educational institutions is also determined. Theoretical paradigm has been scientifically substantiated, the structural and functional, organizational and didactic model of the system of psychologist professional training in the field of special education has been developed and tested and the dynamics of the formation of its components according to the results of the implementation of this system have been highlighted.
Particular attention has been paid to finding and developing the optimal set of methods of providing it, developing programs and defining the efficiency of a developed program. Finally, the article outlines prospects for further research in the context of improving professional training of psychologists in the field of special education.У статті розглядаються основи сучасних досліджень у контексті психологів спеціальної освіти. Проблема професійної підготовки психологів у сфері спеціальної освіти в першу чергу всебічно вивчається на основі гуманістичних, аксіологічних, гносеологічних, акмеологічних, системних, контекстуальних, інтегративних, активних, рефлексивно-активних і особистісно-орієнтованих підходів. Розроблено методологічні аспекти цього професійного навчання, а саме навчання було представлено як цілісне системне явище в освітньому просторі вищої педагогічної освіти. Сутність тренінгу досліджувалася різними способами і на її основі були визначені класифікаційні характеристики, рівні та системні та структурні складові. У статті також визначено зміст, організаційно-педагогічні умови та критерії оцінки рівнів формування цих компонентів. Мета статті полягає в тому, щоб виділити і охарактеризувати ключові частини системи досліджуваного явища і описати їх взаємодію в функціях і формах досліджуваної діяльності. Розроблено та науково обґрунтовано методологію дослідження стану формування компонентів професійної підготовки психолога. Визначено сутність сучасних технологій у вищих навчальних закладах. Науково обґрунтована теоретична парадигма, розроблена і апробована структурно-функціональна, організаційно-дидактична модель системи професійного навчання психолога в галузі спеціальної освіти та динаміка формування її складових, що були виділені за результатами реалізації цієї системи

Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
