These issues also form the basis of the curriculum revision. The current 2013 curriculum is the government's effort to improve the existing education system by validating standardt in content and assessment. The government's expectations of this curriculum change can force learners to improve their ability to think creatively and think in high-level. High order thinking skills is to prepare the generation to face increasingly complex global challenges. High order thinking can be done by training students through contextual and meaningful classroom learning. Thematic learning is theme based learning, so as to create a contextual and meaningful learning for learners
Developing Speaking Skill through Role Play for Pre-service Teacher at STKIP Panca Sakti
Get PDFThere were two objective of the research. First, this research was aimed to explore the use of role play to increasethe students’ speaking skill. The students’ final speaking result was used as indicator the achievement of the research performance. Second aim was to identify the students’ responses byusing of the role play in teaching and learning speaking activities. This qualitative research was conducted in English department in the third semester at STKIP Panca Sakti. The research was conducted on the October 2017 until the January 2018 located in STKIP Panca Sakti. The researcher used several instruments to collect data such as classroom observation, test, and interview. The data collected in this study was analyzed qualitatively by using triangulation. The result of the research showed that the implementation of the role play technique in the English teaching and learning process improved the students’ pre-service teacher speaking skill. They performed their speaking more confidently. Moreover, their motivation and enthusiasm in English learning also had positive impact. The final speaking test generated significant improvement for each cycle for 3.12%. The increase for 0.5 for the average minimum passing requirement was set to prove that the use of role play technique could improve the students’ speaking skills and prove that the intended research using role play was achieved
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Improving Student’s Speaking Skills Through Role Play Method at SMK Alam Karya Bekasi
Get PDFTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris siswa kelas XI OTKP di SMK Alam Karya Sukawangi, Kabupaten Bekasi, dengan menawarkan metode pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang lebih menarik ( Metode Role Play. Kelas XI OTKP yang beranggotakan 25 siswa menjadi fokus penelitian ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), di mana penulis bekerja sama dengan guru Bahasa Inggris. Proses penelitian tindakan Kemmis dan McTaggart-perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi, diikuti dalam pelaksanaan penelitian ini. Siklus pemeriksaan dilakukan. Setiap siklus terdiri dari dua sampai tiga pertemuan. Statistik yang dikumpulkan untuk penelitian ini berasal dari observasi, wawancara, pengecekan, dan buku catatan guru. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berbicara siswa telah meningkat. Di akhir siklus, mayoritas siswa secara konsisten mencapai peringkat yang sesuai. Nilai Kriteria Penguasaan Minimal (KKM) pelajaran Bahasa Inggris adalah 75,00. Tujuh belas siswa atau 68,00% dari duapuluh lima siswa tidak lulus KKM pada pra-tes dengan nilai terendah 60,00 dan nilai tertinggi 80,00. Berdasarkan hasil pasca-tes 1, sepuluh siswa atau 40,00% lulus KKM pada siklus pertama dengan nilai tertinggi 80,00 dan limabelas siswa lainnya atau 60% tidak lulus KKM dengan nilai terendah 64,00. Selanjutnya, hasil pasca-tes 2 pada siklus kedua menunjukkan bahwa dua puluh satu siswa atau 84% lulus KKM dengan nilai tertinggi yaitu 84,00 dan empat siswa atau 16,00% tidak lulus KKM dengan nilai terendah 64,00. Guru bahasa Inggris dan siswa menanggapi kegiatan ini dengan baik, dan lingkungan kelas selama proses belajar mengajar juga baik. Singkatnya, kemampuan berbicara siswa dapat ditingkatkan dengan menggunakan metode role play dalam pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan arti penting untuk pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan, khususnya terkait dengan penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang menarik

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
