    Islamic Parenting Management and Digital Literacy Integration to Strengthen Family Roles

    The rapid expansion of digital technology has reshaped parenting practices, creating new demands for families to guide children responsibly while maintaining Islamic educational values. This study aims to examine how Islamic parenting management is integrated with digital literacy to reinforce parental roles in children’s academic development. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving parents, teachers, and psychological counselors. The findings reveal that combining Islamic parenting principles with digital tools enhances parents’ capacity to monitor children’s development, maintain consistent routines, and strengthen value-based communication at home. Digital platforms also increase parental reflection and enable more responsive school–family interactions. This study offers novelty by demonstrating that integrating faith-based guidance with digital literacy provides a culturally grounded model that prior studies typically do not address, examining these elements separately. Theoretically, the study enriches the understanding of how religious values can be operationalized within technology-assisted parenting. Practically, the findings suggest that schools can improve family engagement by designing structured, faith-oriented programs supported by accessible digital tools

    Equitable Higher Education Transformation: Creating Space as a Catalyst for Change in a New Era

    The transformation of equitable higher education institutions is a necessity to face various global challenges and social dynamics in the new era. This new era emphasizes digital literacy, technology integration in the curriculum, and flexibility in educational access. This study uses a qualitative research with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed thematically to identify various patterns of change, challenges, and opportunities. The results show that the transformation of equitable higher education institutions focuses not only on structural reforms and policies, but also on the philosophical context, socio-cultural values, and the provision of physical and digital spaces that support collaboration, participation, and innovation. Optimal and strategic spatial dimensions can accelerate inclusivity, strengthen academic participation, and increase university responsiveness to community needs. This research has implications for providing a conceptual framework related to the spatial dimension as a dynamic agent in realizing justice, inclusivity, and sustainability in the new era

    Principal Managerial Leadership in Managing Professional Learning Communities in Elementary Schools

    This study examines the critical role of principals in managing Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to enhance teacher professional development and improve the quality of education in elementary schools. This study used a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that principals play a dynamic managerial role in the success of PLCs through comprehensive management functions, including planning, organizing, mobilizing, and controlling (POAC). Specifically, principals conduct in-depth needs analyses based on educational data, strategically plan and organize resources, and actively engage teachers in collaborative activities that foster a culture of participatory learning. Furthermore, regular reflection and data-driven evaluation ensure that the learning community remains aligned with school goals, leading to measurable improvements in teaching practices and student learning outcomes. This study highlights the importance of principal leadership in overcoming challenges such as resistance to change and limited integration of digital platforms. This study contributes to the literature by emphasizing the importance of principals’ managerial skills in effectively managing PLCs to achieve sustainable education reform. Practical implications suggest that principals need to focus on data-driven planning, resource optimization, and ongoing teacher engagement to strengthen PLCs in schools

    FLIPPED CLASSROOM MODEL - PBL: INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE STUDENT PROBLEM SOLVING

    The increasing integration of digital technology in higher education requires instructional approaches that can effectively develop students’ higher-order thinking skills, particularly problem-solving ability. This study examines the effect of integrating the Flipped Classroom model with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on university students’ problem-solving skills. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. The participants consisted of 66 undergraduate students enrolled in an Innovative Learning Media course, divided into an experimental group (31 students) and a control group (35 students). The experimental group was taught using the Flipped Classroom–PBL model, while the control group received conventional lecture-based instruction. Data were collected through pretests and posttests using a validated problem-solving test comprising non-routine essay questions, supported by observation sheets to ensure instructional fidelity. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tests, and ANCOVA to control for initial differences between groups. The results indicate that students in the experimental group demonstrated a significantly greater improvement in problem-solving ability compared to those in the control group. These findings suggest that the integration of Flipped Classroom and PBL provides meaningful learning opportunities by encouraging active engagement, critical analysis, and collaborative problem-solving. This study contributes empirical evidence supporting the use of integrated active learning models as an effective strategy for enhancing problem-solving skills in higher education contexts

    Enhancing Counseling Practices with Total Quality Management and Photovoice to Mitigate Academic Burnout in Madrasah

    Academic burnout among madrasah students remains insufficiently examined, especially through participatory and culturally responsive approaches. Existing research tends to emphasize quantitative measurement or teacher-centered interventions. This study seeks to address this gap by integrating photovoice within a Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework and grounding it in the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) to explore and mitigate academic burnout. The research involved collaboration with two Guidance and Counseling teachers and ten students at a Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Pekanbaru. Data were collected through reflective writing, semi-structured interviews, photo elicitation, and participatory observation, and analyzed using thematic coding with methodological triangulation. The findings demonstrate that photovoice effectively exposes latent academic stress, strengthens teachers’ reflective practice, and promotes meaningful student engagement in counseling processes. Visual narratives—such as torn notebooks, clocks, and fatigue-related imagery—functioned as symbolic expressions of burnout that facilitated empathetic dialogue and informed more precise intervention strategies. This study contributes a novel model of student-led visual diagnostic practice within Islamic school counseling, aligned with TQM’s continuous improvement framework. The findings highlight the value of photovoice as a culturally relevant and sustainable method for strengthening student-centered burnout prevention and improving the overall quality of guidance and counseling services in madrasah settings

    A sense-making approach to pre-service teachers’ use of teaching and learning materials in resource-constrained contexts.

    This study examines how prospective teachers understand and use teaching and learning materials in the context of under-resourced schools. The goal is to uncover how the sense-making process influences pedagogical decisions when teaching. The research used a phenomenological approach with classroom observation and in-depth interviews with one prospective teacher who taught the topic of electrical circuits in grade 9. Thematic analysis is used to identify patterns of use of teaching materials and the way prospective teachers interpret their functions. The results showed that the selection of teaching materials was driven by personal experience and peer recommendations, rather than mature pedagogical considerations. The implementation of the material in the form of videos takes place passively without activities that encourage student involvement. Prospective teachers are not able to connect teaching tools with learning objectives so that the potential of the material is not utilized optimally. The discussion highlighted that limited sense-making has an impact on the quality of learning and hinders the development of professional competencies. The findings of the study suggest the need for professional learning communities to strengthen the pedagogical reflection and understanding of prospective teachers. This study shows that structured support can improve the ability to use teaching materials effectively in the context of limitations

    Integrating Guided Inquiry with Islamic Values: Managing Islamic Education to Foster Character and Critical Thinking

    This study aims to develop and validate the Islamic Value-Based Guided Inquiry (GI-BNI) model to improve students’ conceptual mastery and character development in Islamic Religious Education. The research method uses Research and Development (R&D) with the Thiagarajan model through the 4D approach (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). This study combines quantitative and qualitative methods (mixed methods), including tests, questionnaires, observations, and interviews, and uses the mean difference test for quantitative analysis. The results show that the developed model comprises eight phases (Open, Immerse, Explore, Identify, Gather, Create, Share, Evaluate) integrated with Islamic values (faith, honesty, responsibility, and tolerance). Expert validation shows 93.33% feasibility, and implementation in Praja Pratama classes achieves an average observation score of 87.4%. This model is effective, as evidenced by increases in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning scores (meeting I: 58.24 to 73.23; meeting II: 66.17 to 84.5; meeting III: 55.34 to 81.78). This model also has a significant impact on student behavior (93.48%). Supporting factors include the learning environment, lecturers, students, and curriculum. This study concludes that the eight-phase model and Islamic values are effective in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and changing student behavior

    Pet Tracking System Using Telegram Notification

    This research aims to design and implement a pet tracking system using GPS Neo-6M and LoRa SX1278 modules with Telegram integration for real-time location monitoring. The system consists of a transmitter unit using Arduino Nano, a GPS module, and a LoRa module to send coordinates. The receiver uses a LoRa module and an ESP8266 microcontroller connected to the internet, which forwards the GPS data to a Telegram bot. The test results show that the system successfully sends accurate location data from the pet’s location to the owner via Telegram. This system is suitable for areas with limited internet coverage, offering low power consumption and long-range communication. It enhances the safety of pets through real-time monitoring and is highly applicable in various outdoor scenario

    Strategic Management of Quality Improvement of Higher Education Institutions at Ma'had Aly Nurul Jadid Through PESTEL Analysis

    This study aims to analyze the application of strategic management in improving the quality of Islamic higher education at Ma'had Aly through a PESTEL (Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, and Legal) analysis approach. The main focus of the study is to identify the institution's adaptive strategies in responding to external and internal environmental dynamics to strengthen governance, human resource development, and educational program innovation. Research Methods This study used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The results indicate that Ma'had Aly has successfully implemented strategic management based on PESTEL analysis effectively, as reflected in the strengthening of academic policies, improving faculty and student competencies, integrating technology into learning, strengthening institutional networks, and adapting to social demands and national education regulations. The PESTEL analysis assists the institution in formulating quality improvement strategies that are responsive and innovative to environmental changes. The implementation of PESTEL-based strategic management contributes significantly to the development of the quality of Islamic higher education, particularly in creating adaptive, competitive, and sustainability-oriented governance. It is recommended to develop a sustainable strategic model through inter-institutional collaboration and an evidence-based approach

    When Leadership and Climate Matter: Enhancing Teachers’ Work Ethic through Participative School Leadership

    Teachers’ work ethic is a crucial factor in supporting instructional quality and the achievement of educational goals. Variations in teachers’ work ethic across schools indicate that organizational factors play a significant role in shaping teachers’ professional attitudes and behavior. This study aims to obtain empirical evidence on the influence of the principal’s participative leadership style and school climate on teachers’ work ethic. The research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. The population consisted of 142 teachers, with 105 teachers selected as respondents. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire developed based on theoretical indicators of participative leadership, school climate, and teachers’ work ethic. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the data with the assistance of SPSS software. The results reveal that the principal’s participative leadership style has a positive and significant effect on teachers’ work ethic. In addition, school climate also has a positive and significant influence on teachers’ work ethic. Simultaneously, participative leadership style and school climate significantly contribute to enhancing teachers’ work ethic. These findings indicate that involving teachers in decision making and creating a supportive, harmonious, and conducive school environment can strengthen teachers’ motivation, responsibility, and professional dedication. This study provides important implications for school principals and educational policymakers to implement participative leadership practices and foster a positive school climate as effective strategies for improving teachers’ work ethic and overall educational quality.
