On the automorphism groups of q-enveloping algebras of nilpotent Lie algebras

    No full text
We investigate the automorphism group of the quantised enveloping algebra U of the positive nilpotent part of certain simple complex Lie algebras g in the case where the deformation parameter q \in \mathbb{C}^* is not a root of unity. Studying its action on the set of minimal primitive ideals of U we compute this group in the cases where g=sl_3 and g=so_5 confirming a Conjecture of Andruskiewitsch and Dumas regarding the automorphism group of U. In the case where g=sl_3, we retrieve the description of the automorphism group of the quantum Heisenberg algebra that was obtained independently by Alev and Dumas, and Caldero. In the case where g=so_5, the automorphism group of U was computed in [16] by using previous results of Andruskiewitsch and Dumas. In this paper, we give a new (simpler) proof of the Conjecture of Andruskiewitsch and Dumas in the case where g=so_5 based both on the original proof and on graded arguments developed in [17] and [18]

Grabchev, Ivo Dumas, Stephane Chovelon, Jean-Marc Nedelcheva, AnaThe synthesis of two new green fluorescent poly(propyleneimine) dendrimers from first generation has been described. The new materials are comprised of a 1,8-naphthalimide fluorophore having a substituent at C-4 position. The substituent in the first case is a N,N-dimethylaminoethylamino group while in the second one it is N-methylpiperazine. The spectroscopic and photophysical characteristics of the new dendrimers determined in organic solvent of different polarity have been presented. Both dendrimers show substantial increases in their fluorescence intensity in the presence of metal cations (Zn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, Mn2+, Cu2+, Fe3+ and Ag+) and protons. The influence of the photoinduced electron transfer on their sensing properties has been discussed. (c) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved

This article analyses the interest of French Romanticism in History. It shows the links between Alexander Dumas and his conception of History and historiography. In order to do that, the article studies Jules Michelet - an outstanding historian, greatly admired by Dumas. Walter Scott is another of Dumas' references from the same period. The Scotch author develops a new methodology for portraying History through fiction, that is analyzed and surpassed by Dumas. From this theoretical basis it was possible to analyze some of the techniques adopted by Dumas in his romantic feuilletons, whose plots are inspired by French History.

Epic Specificity of Ukrainian Folk Dumas

    No full text
The article examines the epic specificity of Ukrainian dumas. It does it by demonstrating the originality of the verbal form of dumas, the musical elements of its texts and their performers, blind musicians, and by discussing the place of the genre among similar epic phenomena in the world literature. While S.N. Azbelev considers dumas to be a pre-epic form correspondent to the hypothetical “lyrico-epic cantilena” (A.N. Veselovskiy), B.N. Putilov relates them to the later, “post-classic” stage in the epos development, or, namely, to “post-epos.” The essay claims that only the dumas about Khmel’nichchina were composed “on hot tracks of historical events,” but even these works brought their plotline to a more general level. One can trace the features of the “classic” type of epos in the heroic “core” of dumas: their heroes, while shown as ordinary people in the everyday life, nevertheless demonstrate epic hyperbolism as warriors. Such are ataman Matyash the Old and Ivan Konovchenko, Vdovichenko. The captivity dumas reveal certain hyperbolism as well. These dumas often use a “two-level” structure that is usual for the “classic” epos; they feature traitors and contain signs indicating the beginning of cyclization around certain characters. At the same time, they have no “epic center” nor they have an “epic ruler” variant; they do not have such typical plots as unfair incarceration of the epic hero by the epic ruler, or heroic courtship, or the fight between father and son. The essay explains these gaps by the fact that the genre of dumas emerged and their plot structure developed as complimentary to an older epic form, bylynas that continued to circulate in the 16 th century. The creators of the new genre did not have to compose their dumas because songs on the same themes already circulated at that time and belonged to the generic form of bylina. The author explains transition from bylina to duma within Ukrainian epic tradition by historical changes, “social demand,” and cultural types of the performers

    L'art du récit-cadre chez Dumas

International audienceThis contribution focuses on the treatment of the frame narrative in the novels and short stories of Dumas. Even if this way of “starting well” the action is not the most widespread in his abundant production, it is present in a sufficiently significant way to merit analysis. Taking up a classic type of incipit, Dumas makes an extremely personal and original use of it. Mixing reality and fiction, he willingly upsets the compartmentalization of genres; he also uses it to appropriate a text written in collaboration; this appropriation often involves self-writing which we find in all these beginnings, and which compose a portrait of the author in the form of a puzzle. With Dumas, the narrative framework ceases to be a simple utility to become a mark of style.
