    Environmental protection through criminal law

    No full text
Environmental protection is undoubtedly one of the priorities of today, both nationally and internationally. Environment is understood as the totality of natural and man-made values. Environment is primarily protected through administrative and civil law. However, intensive development of industry, engineering and technology has caused the need for environmental protection through criminal law, because the individual elements of endangering the environment can no longer be protected in any other way efficiently. In this article, the author deals with the environmental protection through criminal law at EU level, legislation governing the criminal-legal protection of the environment, as well as some basic issues related to this topis

Rare calcifying fibrous pseudotumor of the peritoneum in an adult woman as a random finding during laparoscopic surgery

    No full text
Key Clinical Message Calcifying fibrous pseudotumors (CFT) are rare benign lesions diagnosed by histological and immunohistochemical studies. Our case presents a rare detection of a CFT in the parietal peritoneum. These lesions can be falsely interpreted as myomas or adnexal masses and thus gynecologists should be aware of the existence of CFTs

Duties of Flag States to Implement and Enforce International Standards and Regulations - And Measures to Counter Their Failure to Do So

    No full text
The article investigates the duties of flag States to implement and enforce international standards and regulations. Two related but still distinct topis are treated: General duties of flag States (applicable especially to merchant vessels) and duties concerning fishing vessels. After scrutinising the reasons for inadequate flag State implementation and enforcement, the author discusses possible counter measures of non-flag States. The article notably evaluates systems of Port State Control and possibilities of non-flag States to enforce RFMO regulations and other fishing vessel responsibilities against non-member vessels. Finally, possible consequences against the flag State itself as opposed to merely its vessels are examined and if it is permissible to non-recognise a vessel’s flag in case the flag State consistently violates its duties to control its vessels

The diploma thesis focuses on selected specific issues that LGBTQ people (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals, and other queer people) face due to their different non- heteronormative sexual and gender identities. Attention is paid specifically to issues of discrimination, stereotyping, partnership (marriage vs. registered partnership), parenthood, attributed promiscuity, and HIV / AIDS. The author focuses on fiction series broadcast between 2000 and 2021, which deals with queer topis and includes LGBTQ characters in the main or supporting roles, focusing on ways of depicting these characters and reflecting on selected issues they experience due to their identity. In foreign series such as Glee, Modern Family, Orange Is the New Black, Pose, Tales of the City, Sex Education, The Politician, It's a Sin and in the Czech series Ulice and MOST! the ways in which the series presents LGBTQ characters are analysed, in what discourse they are talked about and what effect these depictions may have on the majority heterosexual cisgender viewer. The thesis also provides an overview of the most common narrative archetypes of LGBTQ characters appearing in media production. These are also supplemented by examples of characters from the series of the last 20 years. Through a critical analysis of selected series and their reception, the author tries to point out the importance of portraying people with different sexual and gender identities and the influence of this television representation on the formation of opinions and attitudes towards LGBTQ people

The association of sexual dysfunction and male infertility: a literature review

    No full text
Introduction: Sexual dysfunction and male infertility are important issues concerning men's health and reproductive potential. The relationship between these two conditions is complex and needs careful consideration. In this paper, we will look at how sexual dysfunction affects male fertility, looking at risk factors, why it happens, and ways to deal with it. This topic is important, as understanding it, can help improve men's health and increase the chances of successful reproduction. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between sexual dysfunction and male infertility. An effort is made to understand how sexual dysfunction affects men's ability to reproduce, while examining risk factors, causes, and available treatment approaches. Methodology: The methodology includes the analysis of the available literature, the collection and analysis of data from scientific studies, as well as the examination of the various methods of diagnosis and treatment of sexual dysfunction and male infertility. Results: Analysis of the literature reveals significant associations between sexual dysfunction and male infertility. Scientific studies provide evidence of the causes and treatment options available. Conclusions: Research papers on sexual dysfunction and male infertility reveal the importance of diagnosing and treating these problems for male health and reproductive capacity. © 2025 Hellenics Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) in Reproductive Medicine: A Critical Review of PRP Therapy in Low-Reserve and Premature Ovarian Insufficiency

    No full text
Background: Intraovarian platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has emerged as a novel intervention at the intersection of reproductive medicine and regenerative biology. As women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), poor response to stimulation, or premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) seek fertility solutions, PRP provides a scientifically plausible—yet exploratory—strategy to restore or augment ovarian function. The proposed pathways include the stimulation of local stem cells, tissue remodeling, neoangiogenesis, and the potential reawakening of dormant follicles. Methods: This narrative review critically synthesizes the existing literature on intraovarian PRP therapy. It draws from published case series, pilot studies, and preclinical data to evaluate the biological rationale, clinical outcomes, and current limitations of PRP use in women with DOR and POI. Results: Early clinical findings, albeit limited to modest case series and pilot investigations, reveal promising outcomes such as improved ovarian reserve markers, menstrual restoration, and infrequent spontaneous pregnancies in women who had previously been unresponsive to treatment. However, the variability in preparation techniques, patient selection criteria, and outcome measures limits the generalizability of these results. Conclusions: While intraovarian PRP presents an exciting frontier in reproductive medicine, the absence of defined protocols, controlled trials, and long-term safety data underscores its experimental nature. Future research should focus on standardizing methodologies, conducting randomized controlled trials, and elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying observed clinical effects to establish PRP’s role in managing poor ovarian response and POI

Hrvatski pisac Kristian Novak kroz društveno osjetljive teme diskriminacije i rasizma prikazuje „suživot“ različitih kultura u Hrvatskoj. Tema ovog rada je analiziranje elemenata interkulturalne komunikacije u njegova dva najpoznatija romana: „Črna mati zemla“ i „Ciganin ali najljepši“.Nowdays, when the process of globalization is a worldwide concept, and when we can say that culture interaction is our everyday life, we defined „interculturalism“ as a theoretical and practical approach to a relations between cultures. With a growth of public interest in those topis, also the Contemporary writers started using those topics in their creations. Croatian author Kristian Novak is using social responsive topics of discrimination and rasism to show coexistence of different cultures in Croatia. Primary goal of this paper is to analize elements of intercultural comunication in his two most popular novels: „Črna mati zemla“ and „Ciganin, ali najljepši“
