    Character formation is one of the goals of education, especially Islamic education. One important character is a critical character. Critical is a character that is commonly owned by students, the formation of this character is seen from the ability of students to analyze various kinds of problems sharply and deeply. The purpose of this study is to reveal that in developing the critical thinking character of students, it is necessary to apply a learning assessment based on High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). HOTS-based assessment is an assessment based on questions compiled by the teacher to measure the ability of students in the realm of analysis, evaluation, and creativity. The method used in this research is library research method using a descriptive approach. The results of this study are in the form of concepts used in HOTS-based assessments, as well as their implementation in PAI subjects. Not only that, the competence of a PAI teacher in the application of the HOTS-based assessment concept is very influential, so that the HOTS-based assessment is able to form a critical character in students

    Increasing Holistic Intelligence with Digital Literacy in Islamic Boarding Schools: Case Study at Universitas Darussalam Gontor

    This research aims to review the implementation of digital literacy culture in forming holistic intelligence at University of Darussalam Gontor students. In the era of digital transformation, it has affected all aspects of life, including the world of education. Through digital literacy, education can predict developments in information and digital technology by presenting updates of relevant knowledge and understanding that can be accessed easily and quickly. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The research subjects were students at University of Darussalam Gontor. Obtaining research stamps is taken from student interviews that match the research topic criteria. Because digital literacy affects students\u27 intelligence holistically both spiritually, physically, intellectually and emotionally. The results of this research are that University of Darussalam Gontor students are able to increase holistic intelligence by wisely using digital literacy media. Thus forming 4 factors that are relevant in the digital transformation era, namely, 1) creativity in innovative thinking, 2) gaining spiritual and religious understanding, 3) being able to interact with society and the environment, 4) being wise in using social media. Therefore, students are expected to be able to increase their holistic intelligence to be able to process data, interact, collaborate and be creative.     The Islamization of contemporary science has become very relevant as an effort to ensure that the development of science remains in line with universal Islamic values, because of the many liberal thoughts that infiltrate the campus world. This study aims to understand the challenges in integrating contemporary science with Islamic values ​​at Universitas Darussalam Gontor University. The focus of the study includes an analysis of the concept of Islamization of science, identification of existing challenges and opportunities, and how Universitas Darussalam Gontor deals with liberal thinking that is developing in the campus environment. The method used in this study is qualitative with a case study approach, where data is collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis at Universitas Darussalam Gontor. The results of the study indicate that Universitas Darussalam Gontor has succeeded in implementing the concept of Islamization of contemporary science in Islamic boarding school-based higher education. This is done through curriculum integration, intellectual dialogue, and discussion forums that strengthen Islamic character education in order to improve the process of Islamization of science at Universitas Darussalam Gontor. To strengthen and improve the process of Islamization of science at Universitas Darussalam Gontor, several strategic steps need to be taken, both in developing an Islamic-based curriculum, improving the quality of lecturers and students, and strengthening research and discussion facilities.     Universitas Darussalam Gontor tidak hanya menjadi lembaga pendidikan tetapi juga pusat ekonomi yang menciptakan lapangan kerja bagi masyarakat setempat. Dengan perkembangan teknologi di era digital ini, masyarakat mengalami kesulitan mencari pekerjaan, sehingga meningkatkan popularitas pengangguran di Indonesia. Melalui hal ini, Universitas Darussalam Gontor memberikan lapangan kerja kepada masyarakat setempat sebagai petugas kebersihan di lingkungan kampus sehingga dapat mengurangi tingkat kemiskinan dan pengangguran di masyarakat sekitar Universitas Darussalam Gontor Kelas C. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran Universitas Darussalam Gontor dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus dan pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Universitas Darussalam Gontor telah berhasil meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat melalui program-program pemberdayaan yang berdampak positif bagi pendapatan ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Hal ini juga dapat diterapkan oleh pesantren atau lembaga pendidikan lainnya, oleh karena itu hubungan antara masyarakat dan pesantren harus terjalin dengan baik sehingga dapat saling menguntungkan.     Students are a group of the nation's generation who have intellectual thinking and are also obliged to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. A student has been equipped with knowledge and expertise embedded in each individual. The purpose of this study is to explore the contribution, role and function of students as intellectual development of students in the world of education in forming a change in the era of digital learning. This study uses library research by collecting library data, reading, and recording research materials. The results of this study indicate that a student as an agent of change and has effective and strategic intellectual thinking in order to make someone useful to society is also responsible for the development of Human Resources (HR). In this case, students are required to be role models or uswatun hasanah who are the benchmark for future generations. The results are what contributions are given by students as agents of change, that intellectual mastery of education is very influential for students to continue to exist in the era of digital learning.     Education for girls is essential in the era of society 5.0. Because, the character and behavior of women are often eroded by the progress of the times. Not infrequently, physically and morally, women are also victims of crime in this era. Advanced education that talks about character and life skills has been discussed in many studies, but no one has spoken explicitly about the concept and model of a father's education for his daughters. This study aims to explore the concepts and models of father-in-daughter education from the perspective of the Prophet's Hadith that are relevant to be applied in the era of society. Systematic Literature Review is the research method, so this study only requires secondary data. The research results are three hadiths discussing how to reconstruct the concept and ideal model of education of a father and his daughter. The first hadith emphasizes the role of fathers in the form of education and protection of daughters. The second hadith discusses patience in educating and fulfilling the physical and inner needs of one's daughter. The third hadith talks about glorifying girls and giving equal affection to boys. The conclusion that can be drawn from these three hadiths is that a father has a significant role in providing education, protection, and affection to daughters. This research implies that it is hoped that the reconstruction of educational concepts and models can be applied by a father in order to educate girls in this era of society 5.0

    Educational psychology is a science that discusses all psychological problems in the educational process (teaching and learning). In the learning process, it is necessary to instill a tradition of thinking well and positively, one of which is thinking critically from an early age. Practicing curiosity about something will hone critical thinking patterns. When individuals think, what is needed is an intelligence quotient (IQ) to find out how much level a person has in applying critical thinking. This study aims to elaborate on how important parents' role is in developing IQ and forming necessary thinking skills in children. Critical thinking is a very important thinking skill because it is useful for solving problems in life. The method used in this study is library research, which collects data with textual sources in journals, articles, and books related to the discussion. The results showed that from the perspective of Educational Psychology, the role of parents is very significant in developing IQ and shaping critical thinking skills. Several main views are used: biological, behaviorism, cognitive, psychoanalysis and phenomenological perspectives. Therefore, in forming IQ and critical thinking skills, there needs to be habituation and experimentation with children's mindsets such as giving questions, giving conclusions, and trying to research something that is unknown. This research is expected to educate parents to understand child psychology better. Â

    ANALISIS PENGARUH NEGATIF INTERNAL DAN EKSTERNAL PESANTREN TERHADAP PROSES HAFALAN AL-QUR'AN SANTRI

    In memorising the Qur'an, a person certainly experiences difficulties from various factors, both from internal and external factors. Life in Islamic boarding schools does not guarantee that it is easy for someone to memorise the Qur'an. This study aims to analyse the influence of the pesantren environment on the process of memorising the Qur'an and the obstacles faced by the students. Using the library research method, this study examines various relevant literature, both from journal articles, as well as previous research that discusses the pesantren environment and the memorisation process. The results of the study show that a conducive pesantren environment, including structured memorisation routines, supervision from caregivers and educators, and social support between students, has a positive impact on the smooth memorisation process. However, various obstacles were also found, both internal, such as lack of motivation and mental exhaustion, as well as external, such as limited facilities and less supportive family roles. In addition, some studies also reveal that psychological factors, such as anxiety and pressure to memorise quickly, can slow down the memorisation process. This study concludes that although the pesantren environment in general supports the memorisation process, there are still challenges that need to be overcome to maximise the results. The author's suggestion for this study is to improve the psychological aspect and provide more adequate facilities for students so that the process of memorising the Qur'an can run more effectively and optimally

    Implementasi Lingkungan Bahasa bagi Penutur Non Arab di Pesantren Modern

    Learning Arabic appears to be very difficult for non-native Arabic speakers, particularly beginners. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of the Arabic language environment for the New Santriwati in the Islamic Modern Boarding School Darussalam Gontor. The development and deployment of a language environment, which comprises types, programs, supporting components, and obstacles in the creation of language environments, is a crucial component of this research. This study employs qualitative and descriptive research methods, exposing methods based on the reality of actual situations and data-gathering treatments such as interviews, observations, and documentation. According to the outcome of this study, the environment of language is divided into two parts: formal and non-formal. The presence of a program of language activities such as ilqo' Mufrodat, idhof lughowi, arabic speaking, tasyji'u lugho, muhaawarah usbu'iyyah, fun friday, etc. The presence of figures/Qudwah in the Arabic language at all times is the most crucial component for encouraging the development of the linguistic environment. Obstacles encountered in implementing the language environment for the new santriwati at the Modern Darussalam Gontor consist of the differences in the background of students in Arabic learning, a lack of curiosity for Arabic vocabulary, a student's weak capacity in studying the Arabic language, and the presence of elements of underestimation to the disciplinary rules. The solution is to organize communication business activities, motivate people to love Arabic and tighten up Arabic language discipline. The findings of this study should assist teachers in developing a more conducive linguistic environment
