Study about general dentists’ perception, involving educational and treatment issues, which affect dental care for children with special health care needs in the state of Punjab (India)
Aim: The aim of this survey was to assess the general dentists’ attitude and desirability for additional training in treating children with special health care needs(CSHCN) in the region of Punjab state, India. Methods: A ten item questionnaire was sent to 1200 licensed general dentists in Punjab. The survey questioned about their demographics and their behavior in treating CSHCN. Responses to the questionnaire were tabulated and percent frequency distributions for answers to each question were computed. Results: Of the 1200 survey forms sent, 537 (44.75%) were received back. From the responses, 422 (78.60%) general dentists reported that they never treat CSHCN and the most common answer (79.10%) given for not seeing CSHCN was lack of education and treatment skills. Conclusions: These data indicate that most general dentists in Punjab state hardly treat CSHCN and the reasons they cited were poor training skills and educational experience in managing CSHC
Clinical and Practical Implications of Storage Media used for Tooth Avulsion
ABSTRACT
Replantation is being widely accepted as an effective treatment option for an avulsed tooth. However, the long-term fate of replanted teeth is unpredictable; it is dependent on various factors, such as the time interval between avulsion and replantation, extra-alveolar storage period (dry storage or storage media), the vitality status of pulp or periodontal tissues and the type and period of splinting. The appropriate use of storage media is an important clinical factor affecting the postoperative prognosis of avulsed teeth following replantation. Hank's balanced salt solution and pasteurized milk are considered to be the most appropriate and clinically recommended storage media for avulsed teeth. The present review discusses the various available storage media for avulsed teeth and their potential maintenance of the vitality of periodontal ligament cells. A brief overview of the effect of clinical factors, such as the storage time, pH, and the osmolarity of storage media on their efficacy is included.

Comparative evaluation of diffusion hypoxia and psychomotor skills with or without postsedation oxygenation following administration of nitrous oxide in children undergoing dental procedures: A clinical study
Background: Diffusion hypoxia is the most serious potential complication associated with nitrous oxide. It occurs during the recovery period. Hence, administration of 100% oxygen is mandatory as suggested by many authors. Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the occurrence/nonoccurrence of diffusion hypoxia in two groups of patients undergoing routine dental treatment under nitrous oxide sedation when one group is subjected to 7 min of postsedation oxygenation and the second group of the patients is made to breathe room air for the similar period. Materials and Methods: A total of sixty patients within the age group of 7–10 years requiring invasive dental procedures were randomly divided into two groups of 30 each using chit method. In the control group, patients were administered 100% oxygen postsedation, whereas, in the study group, patients were made to breathe room air postsedation. Various parameters (pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation [SpO2]) were recorded pre- and post-operatively. Data were collected and then sent for statistical analysis. Results: The mean postoperative SpO2 at measurement times 1, 3, 5, and 7 min in both the groups was higher than the mean preoperative SpO2. This increase was statistically significant. No significant difference was found between the Trieger test scores. Conclusion: This study proves that clinical occurrence of diffusion hypoxia is not possible while following the routine procedure of nitrous oxide sedation
Root canal revascularisation-A novel biological treatment concept
Pulp vitality is extremely important for the tooth viability, since it provides nutrition and acts as biosensor to detect pathogenic stimuli. In the dental clinic, most dental pulp infections are irreversible due to its anatomical position and organization. It is difficult for the body to eliminate the infection, which subsequently persists and worsens. The widely used strategy currently in the clinic is to partly or fully remove the contaminated pulp tissue, and fill and seal the void space with synthetic material. Over time, the pulpless tooth, now lacking proper blood supply and nervous system, becomes more vulnerable to injury. Recently, potential for successful pulp regeneration and revascularization therapies is increasing due to accumulated knowledge of stem cells, especially dental pulp stem cells. This paper will review current progress and feasible strategies for dental pulp regeneration and revascularization

Topographic assessment of human enamel surface treated with different topical sodium fluoride agents: Scanning electron microscope consideration
Introduction: Continuous balanced demineralization and remineralization are natural dynamic processes in enamel. If the balance is interrupted and demineralization process dominates, it may eventually lead to the development of carious lesions in enamel and dentine. Fluoride helps control decay by enhancing remineralization and altering the structure of the tooth, making the surface less soluble. Methodology: One hundred and twenty sound human permanent incisors randomly and equally distributed into six groups as follows: Group I - Control, II - Sodium fluoride solution, III - Sodium fluoride gel, IV - Sodium fluoride varnish, V - Clinpro Tooth Crème (3M ESPE), and VI-GC Tooth Mousse Plus or MI Paste Plus. The samples were kept in artificial saliva for 12 months, and the topical fluoride agents were applied to the respective sample groups as per the manufacturer instructions. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) evaluation of all the samples after 6 and 12 months was made. Results: Morphological changes on the enamel surface after application of fluoride in SEM revealed the presence of globular precipitate in all treated samples. Amorphous, globular, and crystalline structures were seen on the enamel surface of the treated samples. Clear differences were observed between the treated and untreated samples. Conclusion: Globular structures consisting of amorphous CaF2precipitates, which acted as a fluoride reservoir, were observed on the enamel surface after action of different sodium fluoride agents. CPP-ACPF (Tooth Mousse) and Tricalcium phosphate with fluoride (Clinpro tooth crème) are excellent delivery vehicles available in a slow release amorphous form to localize fluoride at the tooth surface
Gränsdragningar i Greeneland: Om problematiserandet av motsatser i Graham Greenes The Quiet American
Með hliðsjón af þessum kenningum verða vitranir Jónasar lærða skoðaðar sem reynsla af fegurðinni, með hliðsjón af því sem Slavoj Žižek kallar „hliðrunarsýnina“.This thesis will explore the aesthetics of curiosity in Sjón’s novel, From the Mouth of the Whale. The author of this thesis will analyse the surrealist elements in the novel by retracing concepts of beauty from Plato’s theories to manifestations of beauty as they appear in the novel. With such perspectives at hand, the epiphanies of the protagonist, Jónas the Learned, will be analysed as an experience of beauty through Slavoj Žižek’s theories on what he calls “the parallax view”

Lykilorð: Vinnumarkaður, Z kynslóð, stjórnun, starfsmannavelta, mannauðurThis thesis is about Generation Z and its entry into the workforce. The generations that are already active in the workforce will be examined theoretically concerning the characteristics and needs of each generation individually, special emphasis will be placed on Generation Z, which is made up of people born between 1997 – 2012. The purpose of this paper is to examine the expectations Generation Z has for the workforce and whether they vary according to life stages and increased personal responsibility. To find out, the following research question was formulated: - Do different life stages affect the expectations generation Z has for the workforce? This study was diveded into two parts. First, a quantitative research method was applied in the form of an online survey and shared in relevant groups on social media. Next, a qualitative research method was applied where interviews were conducted with individuals within generation Z, all of whom are at different stages of their lives and chosen by the author. The results of the online survey and the interviews revealed that different life stages are most likely affected by the expectations generation Z has for the work force. The older span of generation Z is in most cases, risk-averse in terms of job security and salary, but the younger span of generation Z is much more willing to consider it. Furthermore, the results of the study strongly suggest that most individuals within the generation aspire to work for their company for a long period of time, regardless of their life stage
