Effects of Non-ideal Switches on Speed of SC Integrator
This paper presents a method with which the switches in the classical switched capacitor(SC) integrator can be optimized to achieve smallest layout area in the meanwhile maintaining circuit speed within demand. After introduction of structure and function of the SC integrator that is composed of capacitors, switches and op amp, the reason why switches involved should be optimized is given that is due to the noneideal factors of switch. The method at first calculates the maximum on-resistance of a CMOS switch in accordance with speed specification, then the width and length of channel of the PMOS and NMOS involved in a CMOS switch are obtained through numerical simulations by HSPICE. The results show that a switch should be designed with 0.3μm/0.35μm for PMOS and NMOS, respectively, to achieve smallest layout area for the SC integrator implemented by TSMC 0.18 um Mixed Signal SALICIDE technology
High-resolution clean-sc
In this paper a high-resolution extension of CLEAN-SC is proposed: HR-CLEAN-SC. Where CLEAN-SC uses peak sources in “dirty maps” to define so-called source components, HR-CLEAN-SC takes advantage of the fact that source components can likewise be derived from points at some distance from the peak, as long as these “source markers” are on the main lobe of the Point Spread Function (PSF). This is very useful when sources are closely spaced together, such that their PSFs interfere. Then, alternative markers can be sought in which the relative influence by PSFs of other source positions is minimised. For those markers the source components better agree with the actual sources, which allows for better estimation of their locations and strengths. This paper outlines the theory needed to understand this approach and discusses applications to 2D and 3D microphone array simulations with closely spaced sources
First-principles study of p-type transparent conductive oxides CuXO2 (X=Y, Sc, and Al)
Using first-principles methods we have calculated electronic structures, optical properties, and hole conductivities of CuXO2 (X=Y, Sc, and Al). We show that the direct optical band gaps of CuYO2 and CuScO2 are approximately equal to their fundamental band gaps and the conduction bands of them are localized. The direct optical band gaps of CuXO2 (X=Y, Sc, and Al) are 3.3, 3.6, and 3.2 eV, respectively, which are consistent with experimental values of 3.5, 3.7, and 3.5 eV. We find that the hole mobility along long lattice c is higher than that along other directions through calculating effective masses of the three oxides. By analyzing band offset we find that CuScO2 has the highest valence band maximum (VBM) among CuXO2 (X=Y, Sc, and Al). In addition, the approximate transitivity of band offset suggests that CuScO2 has a higher VBM than CuGaO2 and CuInO2 [Phys. Rev. Lett. 88, 066405 (2002)]. We conclude that CuScO2 has a higher p-type doping ability in terms of the doping limit rule. (C) 2008 American Institute of Physics. [DOI: 10.1063/1.2991157

Sputter Deposition Technology For Al((1-X))Sc(X)N Films With High Sc Concentration
Aluminium scandium nitride (Al1-xScxN) with its strongly enhanced piezoelectric response is the upcoming piezoelectric material of choice in next generation RF filters, sensors, actuators and energy harvesting devices. This paper will concentrate on the deposition technology for Al1-xScxN films with high Sc content. Films with Sc concentrations close to 43 at% have been grown on 200-mm substrates using a cluster type sputter deposition tool. The piezoelectric response will be discussed and correlated with the deposition parameters and film structural properties. The steps required to deliver a high-volume production solution for high Sc concentration will be described.L
