    Multivariate methods based soft measurement for wine quality evaluation

    Soft measurement is a new, developing, and promising industry technology and has been widely used in the industry nowadays. This technology plays a significant role especially in the case where some key variables are difficult to be measured by traditional measurement methods. In this paper, the quality of the wine is evaluated given the wine physicochemical indexes according to multivariate methods based soft measurement. The multivariate methods used in this paper include ordinary least squares regression (OLSR), principal component regression (PCR), partial least squares regression (PLSR), and modified partial least squares regression (MPLSR). By comparing the performance of the four methods, the MPLSR prediction model shows superior results than the others. In general, to determine the quality of the wine, experienced wine tasters are hired to taste the wine and make a decision. However, since the physicochemical indexes of wine can to some extent reflect the quality of wine, the multivariate statistical methods based soft measure can help the oenologist in wine evaluation. © 2014 Shen Yin et al

Head (Fig. 14 A–D) ochraceous; postclypeus longer than vertex in dorsal view; apex of vertex with tuft of brown hairs; compound eye black; ocellus ochraceous. Distance between lateral ocellus and corresponding eye slightly longer than distance between lateral ocelli. Lateral part of face brown. Rostrum brown, extending to apex of mid coxae. Pronotum (Fig. 14 C) ochraceous, without distinct marks. Mesonotum (Fig. 14 C) ochraceous, slightly narrower than pronotal collar; with dark longitudinal fasciae laterally in dorsal view; cruciform elevation ochraceous. Ventral surface of thorax dark brown. Legs (Fig. 14 G) mostly dark brown; fore femur with primary spine prostrate, nearly lying flat; secondary and subapical spines erect; secondary spine sharp and short; subapical spine broadened, nearly flat. Fore wing (Fig. 14 A–B) with basal half mostly brown, basal cell light yellow, apical half hyaline; basal membrane of fore wing and base of hing wing red.     Lei nº 12.846, de 2013: mudanças e perspectivas na responsabilização da pessoa jurídica

Direito.Este trabalho propõe-se a, inicialmente, analisar os motivos que levaram à elaboração da Lei nº 12.846, de 2013, assim como os princípios de direito constitucional e administrativo que servirão como sua base legitimadora e fundamentarão sua atuação. Posteriormente a tal análise, elaborar-se-á, a partir do rito processual administrativo previsto na Lei nº 9.784, de 1999, a estrutura processual e a sequência dos procedimentos que as pessoas jurídicas de direito privado que forem investigadas a partir da Lei nº 12.846 serão sujeitas, com destaque aos pontos em que o novo diploma legal diverge ou acrescenta no previsto pela Lei processual, assim como suas semelhanças e peculiaridades quando comparado a outros corpos normativos similares. Após, será realizado estudo relativo ao instituto da responsabilidade objetiva previsto na Lei nº 12.846, sua evolução histórica e as consequências de sua aplicação na seara administrativa. A matéria de análise subsequente tratará das possíveis sanções a serem aplicadas contra as pessoas jurídicas de direito privado condenadas em processo administrativo, as previsões aplicáveis frente a seus gestores, além das possibilidades de responsabilização judicial elencadas na nova Lei. Em seguida será exposta ponderação no tocante a Acordos de Leniência, sua aplicação no direito brasileiro e suas perspectivas frente à Lei nº 12.846, onde esta possibilidade de acordo vêm prevista. No capítulo final deste trabalho serão analisados os programas de Compliance, que cada vez mais ganham importância no cenário econômico internacional e passam a receber grande impulso a partir das previsões contidas na nova Lei. Também neste bloco serão elencadas críticas e análises que vem sendo elaboradas por profissionais do ramo jurídico frente à nova Lei, contrapostas pela leitura do autor dos dispositivos contestados.This paper proposes to initially analyze the reasons that led to the drafting of Law No. 12.846, of 2013, as well as the principles of constitutional and administrative framework will serve as a legitimizing basis and will base its operations right. Subsequent to this analysis, will be drawn up, from the administrative procedural rite under Law No. 9.784, of 1999, the procedural structure and sequence of procedures that legal entities of private law which are investigated from the Law No. 12.846 will be subject, highlighting the points where the new law differs or adds predicted by the procedural law, as well as their similarities and peculiarities when compared to similar regulatory bodies. After, will be held on the institute's strict liability under Law No. 12.846, its historical evolution and study the consequences of its application in administrative harvest. The subsequent analysis focuses on the field of the possible sanctions to be applied against legal persons of private law convicted in an administrative proceeding, the predictions apply against their managers, the possibilities of judicial accountability listed in the new law. Next will be exposed weighting in respect of the leniency agreements, their implementation in Brazilian law and its prospects ahead to Law No. 12,846, where this possibility according come provided. In the final chapter of this work the Compliance programs, which increasingly gain importance in the international economic scenario and started to receive major boost from the forecasts contained in the new law also in this block will be analyzed and critical analysis that has been developed will be listed by professionals in the legal branch opposite the new law, opposing the reading of the author of the disputed devices

    Multiscale cracking pattern-based homogenization model of water permeability in hybrid fiber-reinforced concrete after high-temperature exposure

    Hybrid steel-fine polypropylene fiber-reinforced concrete (HSPFRC) can effectively prevent thermal spalling. Its permeability at high temperatures plays a crucial role in avoiding spalling, and varies with the type, dosage, and length of fibers utilized in concrete mix. In this study, the water permeability of eleven different HSPFRCs after five different heating treatments is experimentally measured with a flow path representative of the material heterogeneity. Addition to the knowledge of the PP fiber tunnels around 150 ◦C, it is newly found that the thermal cracks caused by aggregate thermal expansion, instead of the evaporated PP tunnels and steel fiber induced thermal cracks, contributes the main part of water transport system over 150 °C. Steel fiber in SFRCs significantly reduces permeability by a factor of 10 through bridging forces that lessen the damage before reaching a temperature of 300 °C. However, after getting this temperature, permeability increases significantly by a factor of 104. For PFRCs, the permeability increases by a factor of 102 at 150 ◦C and continues to grow with the increase of fiber content and length. HSPFRCs exhibit similar patterns to PFRCs in terms of permeability. As the main innovation of this work, a multi-scale cracking pattern-based homogenization model for permeability in HSPFRC during and after high-temperature exposure is formulated and calibrated based on the experiments conducted in this research and validated using results from other tests
