The Political Thought of the Late H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founder of the United Arab Emirates (1966 - 2004)
This thesis highlights the political thought of H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a man who made decisive contributions to the history of the twentieth century, and the various reflections of this political thought on the UAE, its people and the international community at large. In this regard, it explores and analyzes a multifaceted political thought that took its form in political practice in the establishment of the Federation, the management of crises and in the building of a prosperous enduring nation. Evaluating the factors that influenced the formation of the doctrinal matrix of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, this thesis traces the background from within which Sheikh Zayed’s leadership skills evolved and developed. From his early years onwards, Sheikh Zayed made a firm commitment to undertake the considerable task of building a fully fledged state out of a divided tribal background, improve the lives of citizens, and carve a place for the UAE in the international arena.
This research project illustrates the implications and dimensions of Sheikh Zayed's political thinking process exemplified in his discursive statements and actions. It documents and analyzes the career achievements of Sheikh Zayed, a statesman acknowledged by contemporary and future generations to have had significant impact on the political direction and overall development of the UAE. This impact also demonstrates the potential of his contribution to the field of political thought.
One of this study’s primary conclusions is that the accomplishments of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan during his rule have resulted primarily from his development of an integrated doctrine of governance that reflected his humanistic outlook. In this regard, at both the domestic and international levels, Sheikh Zayed’s political decisions and acts were undertaken with reference to this outlook
Investigating and learning lessons from early experiences of implementing ePrescribing systems into NHS hospitals:a questionnaire study
ePrescribing systems have significant potential to improve the safety and efficiency of healthcare, but they need to be carefully selected and implemented to maximise benefits. Implementations in English hospitals are in the early stages and there is a lack of standards guiding the procurement, functional specifications, and expected benefits. We sought to provide an updated overview of the current picture in relation to implementation of ePrescribing systems, explore existing strategies, and identify early lessons learned

The four series are: o- C6) (SMethoxyphenylstibine Phi-nSb(o-C6H4OMe)n (n a 1,2,3) and (ii) Antimony-Sulphur donor ligands Ph3_n(o-C5H4SMO)n (n a 1,2,3),o-C6H4(SbMe2)(SMe), MeS(CH2)3SbR2 (R a Me, Phi and S(CH2CH2CH2SbPh2)2. (iii) Antimony-Nitrogen donor ligands Ph3_nsb(o-C6H4NMe2)q (n a 1,3), o-C6H4(NIle2)(SbMe2), Me2N(CH2)3SbR2, McN(CH2CH2SER212 and N(CH2CH2CH2 'SbR2)3 (R = Me,Ph)(iv) Open-chain tetradentates Me2Sb(CH2)20(CH2)20(CH2)2SbMe2 R2SbCH2CH2CH2N(Me)CH2CH2N(Me)CH2CH2CH2SbR2 and R2SbCH2CH2CH2SCH2CH2 SCH2CH2CH2SbR2 (R = Me ,Ph). Attempts to prepare other ligands including S(CH2CH2SbR2) , Me2NCH2CH2SbPh2, N(CH2CH2SbPh2)2, CH3C(CH2SbR2)3 and C(CH2SbR2)4 (R = Me,Ph) were unsuccessful. A limited series of hybrid bismuthines were synthesised and similarly characterised, specifically Ph3_nBi(o-C6H4OMe)n (n - 1,3), Ph3-nBi (o-C6H4s:4e)n (n = 1,3), Phi_nBi(o-C6A4NMe2)n (n = 1,3), Ph2Bi (o-C5H4C1) and o-C6H4(SbPh2)(BiPh2). A preliminary survey of the types of complexes formed by the platinum metals in their normal oxidation states with the methoxyphenylstibines, and the antimony-nitrogen donor ligands has been carried out. A series of complexes of palladium (II), platinum (II), rhodium (III) and iridium (III) have been prepared and characterised by analysis, 'H nmr, electronic and IR spectroscopy.</p
Lan(n+1)+xNin(n+5)+ySi(n+1)(n+2)–z : A Symmetric Mirror Homologous Series in the La-Ni-Si System
A homologous series La n(n+1)+x Ni n(n+5)+y Si(n+1)(n+2)-z has beenobserved inthe La-Ni-Si representing a symmetric Ni-rich mirrorto the La(n+1)(n+2)Ni n(n-1)+2Si n(n+1). A series of fourhomologous silicides have been discovered duringsystematic explorations in the central part of the La-Ni-Sisystem at 1000 & DEG;C. All compounds La12.5Ni28.0Si18.3 (n = 3; a = 28.8686(8), c = 4.0737(2) & ANGS;, Z = 3), La22.1Ni39.0Si27.8 (n = 4; a = 20.9340(6), c = 4.1245(2) & ANGS;, Z = 1), La32.9Ni49.8Si39.3 (n = 5; a = 24.946(1), c = 4.1471(5) & ANGS;, Z = 1), and La44.8Ni66.1Si53.4 (n =6; a = 28.995(5), c = 4.158(1) & ANGS;, Z = 1) crystallize in the hexagonal space group P6(3)/m and can be generalizedaccording to La n(n+1)+x Ni n(n+5)+y Si(n+1)(n+2)-z with n = 3-6. Their crystalstructures are based on AlB2-type building blocks, fusedLa-centered Ni6Si6 hexagonal prisms, yieldinglarger oligomeric equilateral domains with the edge size equal to n. The domains extend along the c axisand show checkered ordering of the cationic and anionic parts, whileall their atoms are located on mirror planes. La n(n+1)+x Ni n(n+5)+y Si(n+1)(n+2)-z can beconsidered as a mirror series to the La-rich La(n+1)(n+2)Ni n(n-1)+2Si n(n+1), where an exchange of the formal cationic and anionic sites,i.e., La and Si, occurs. The La-Ni-Si system is thefirst system where two such analogous series have been observed
Composing Na't out of a Mathnawi: Sheikh Ghalib's Sühan
İbn Arabî’nin Şeyh Galip üzerindeki etkisini sadece Sühan değil, aynı zamanda Galip’in diğer eseri olan Şerh-i Cezîre-i Mesnevî de ispat eder. Bu şerh, Şeyh Galip’in Mevlana’nın Mesnevi’sini Ekberî ilhamıyla nasıl yorumladığının önemli bir örneği ve Şeyh Galip’in İbn Arabî’ye aşinalığının önemli bir belgesidir. This chapter initally focuses on the role of Sühan in Sheikh Ghalib’s (d. 1799) Hüsn ü Aşk and examines Sühan’s multilayered meaning. Sühan, who is often interpreted as “mürşid-i kâmil” in contemporary literature, shows full parallelism with the Reality of Muhammad as thoroughly articulated by Ibn Arabî (d. 1240). Sühan, intermediating between Hüsn and Aşk, personifies the Prophet Muhammad and turns this mathnawi into a na‘t, a specific genre for praise of the Prophet. This chapter also argues that Sheikh Ghalib reflects Ibn Arabî’s influence on Ottoman thought and poetry. Among many other significant figures, Sheikh Ghalib’s main teacher in the Akbarian lineage should be the famous Mathnawi commentator İsmail Rusûkhî Ankarawî (d. 1631). In fact, it would be appropriate to say that Sheikh Ghalib and İsmail Rusûkhî Ankarawî are two important bridges between Ibn Arabî and Rûmî, both as Mawlavis who internalized the Akbarian thought. It is not only the character of Sühan that proves Ibn Arabî’s influence on Sheikh Ghalib but also Ghalib’s other work, Şerh-i Cezîre-i Mesnevî exhibits such inspiration. This commentary is an important example of how Sheikh Ghalib interpreted Rûmî’s Mathnawi with Akbarian inspiration, and is an important document of Sheikh Ghalib’s familiarity with Ibn Arabî
Peutz-Jeghers polyp: A Retrospective Study on Twelve Cases Received at the Department of Pathology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University
Background: Peutz Jegher syndrome is a rare inherited condition characterized mainly by gastrointestinal hamartomatous polyposis and mucocutaneous pigmentation. The polyps are mostly found in the small bowel and less frequently in the stomach and large gut. Objectives: This study was done to observe the clinical and pathological features of Peutz Jegher polyps. Methods: A retrospective study was carried out in the Department of Pathology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) during the five and a half year period from 1st January 2006 to 30th June 2011. From the records the cases which were diagnosed as Peutz Jeghers polyps were sorted out, clinical data was compiled and slides were reviewed. Results: During this period 12 cases were diagnosed as Peutz Jeghers polyp. Most of these (n=58.33%) occurred in the second decade of life and majority (n=9) were located in the large gut including sigmoid colon and rectum. Both sessile as well as pedunculated types were seen. All had characteristic histologic features of Peutz Jeghers polyps and in only one case there was a mild dysplastic change in the glandular lining epithelium. Conclusion: Close monitoring of the patients with peutz Jeghers polyp can reduce the morbidity of this condition.

A Multi-Language Comparison of Influences on Author Verification using Character N-Grams
We create a new multi-language corpus for author verification based on Wikipedia talkpages, and evaluate the influence that differences in topic and time have on character n-gram author profiles. Topic alignment between two texts is found to increase author verification precision, and an authors writing style is found to change over time, but not more significantly after 3 years than after 1 year.Information ArchitectureWISElectrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Scienc
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Psychological Analysis of Sheikh San’aan by Using TAT
AbstractIn this research, dramatic story of Sheikh San’aan, which is one of the stories in Conference of the Birds written by Attar Neyshaburi in the 6th century hegira, is psychologically analyzed using Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), and analytical and descriptive methods. Sheikh San’aan is the hero of the story and a hermit who fell in love with a Christian girl in senility. The needs of hero's id were confronted by his superego's presses. Change and Travel were of the most distinguished needs and Affliction was the most prominent press of the hero. The process of change facilitated by ego throughout the story leads to catharsis and ultimately transcendence of dimensions of hero's personality. The evolution of the hero and his achievement of needlessness against presses were assessed. Conflicts, anxieties and feelings of the hero were appraised towards his attainment of life's meaning. Finally, Attar's universal and humanistic approach to life was further discussed based on his projections towards the story of Sheikh San’aan
