KIIT Digital Library: An open hypermedia Application
The massive use of Web technologies has spurred a new revolution in information storing and retrieving. It has always been an issue whether to incorporate hyperlinks embedded in a document or to store them separately in a link base. Research effort has been concentrated on the development of link services that enable hypermedia functionality to be integrate into the general computing environment and allow linking from all tools on the browser or desktop. KIIT digital library is such an application that focuses mainly on architecture and protocols of Open Hypermedia Systems (OHS), providing on-line document authoring, browsing, cataloguing, searching and updating features. The WWW needs fundamentally new frameworks and concepts to support new search and indexing functionality. This is because of the frequent use of digital archives and to maintain huge amount of database and documents. These digital materials range from electronic versions of books and journals offered by traditional publishers to manuscripts, photographs, maps, sound recordings and similar materials digitized from libraries' own special collections to new electronic scholarly and scientific databases developed through the collaboration of researchers, computer and information scientists, and librarians. Metadata in catalogue systems are an indispensable tool to find information and services in networks. Technological advances provide new opportunities to facilitate the process of collecting and maintaining metadata and to facilitate using catalogue systems. The overall objective is how to make best use of catalogue systems. Information systems such as the World Wide Web, Digital Libraries, inventories of satellite images and other repositories contain more data than ever before, are globally distributed, easy to use and, therefore, become accessible to huge, heterogeneous user groups. For KIIT Digital Library, we have used Resource Development Framework (RDF) and Dublin Core (DC) standards to incorporate metadata. Overall KIIT digital library provides electronic access to information in many different forms. Recent technological advances make the storage and transmission of digital information possible. This project is to design and implement a cataloguing system of the digital library system suitable for storage, indexing, and retrieving information and providing that information across the Internet. The goal is to allow users to quickly search indices to locate segments of interests and view and manipulate these segments on their remote computers
Introducing Iqbal the Economist
The Iqbal Memorial Lecture was instituted in 1994 when the Pakistan Society of Development Economists (PSDE) celebrated the completion of a decade of steady progress. A brief announcement stated: “The Iqbal Memorial Lecture attributed to the national poet [Emphasis added], Allama Muhammad Iqbal has been included in the programme for the first time. Professor Ian M. D. Little is delivering that lecture” [Secretary’s Report (1994), p. 1472]. Iqbal, the poet and philosopher par excellence, has made incisive remarks or comments on economic and social issues in his poetry, philosophical writings, and in the course of his discourses as well as some famous letters, particularly those written to the Quaid-i-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. But these do not make Iqbal an economist. The Secretary of the PSDE was, therefore, careful in observing that the lecture commemorates our “national poet”. However, it will be of great interest to this largest national congregation of economists and other scholars concerned with development to know that the very first published book of Iqbal related neither to poetry nor philosophy, but economics. It was written in Urdu. He also taught the subject at undergraduate and Master’s level, even though he had not studied it as a student. At the Government College, Lahore, Iqbal studied English, Philosophy and Arabic for his B.A. and then completed the M.A. in Philosophy.

Current perspectives, recent advancements, and efficiencies of various dye-containing wastewater treatment technologies
The usage of dyes is increasing due to their high demand in expanding industrial sector. As a result, large volumes of dye wastewater are being generated, particularly in the textile industry. Colored effluent discharged by industrial processes into surface water bodies negatively affects aquatic, human, and animal life, which is a major global concern. To reduce the detrimental effects of dye wastewater on the environment, it should be treated before its disposal. This article extensively reviews the existing and advancements in physical, physicochemical, chemical, and biological treatment technologies and their efficacies in dye removal (%). Also, the article summarized the benefits and challenges associated with the existing methods to use them at an industrial scale. The physical, physicochemical, and chemical methods have less hydraulic retention time (HRT), from minutes to a few hours, and higher removal efficiencies (85–100 %). However, certain drawbacks hinder their widespread use, such as limited regenerative capacities of adsorbents, filtration associated with high fouling rates of the membrane, higher costs of ion exchange, sludge production in coagulation-flocculation, high treatment cost and high dissolved oxygen requirement in sonocatalysis and in chemical technologies: secondary pollutants production, sludge production, high cost, and ecological inefficiency. Biological-based treatment with bacteria, fungus, yeast, and algae has a bit higher HRT (a few hours to days) with removal efficiencies ranging between 85 and 100 % with the advantage of low cost, low energy requirement, less sludge, and being environmentally friendly. Developing an environmentally friendly and low-cost method is currently the need of the hour. Researchers have increasingly focused on bioremediation as an essential method for removing dangerous dye contaminants from natural water bodies. State of the art of bioremediation techniques has also been discussed from an economic and technological standpoint

Maulana Altaf Hussain Hali is one of the pioneers of modern Urdu poetry. He has same status in prose writing in urdu literature. Hayat -e-Sadi ,Yadgar-e- Ghalib, Hayat- e- Javed, Muqadamma-e-Shero-Shairi,Essays and his letters are the main examples of his prose writing.Hali wrote many articles besides full-fledged books. These were published in 1902amp;1934 under the titles of Muzameen -e-Hali and Miqalat-e-hali. Sheikh Muhammad Ismail Panipati compiled the remaining speeches, essays and reviews of Hali,in two volumes under the title of Kulliyat-e-nasr-e-Hali.The first volume was published in 1967.This collection includes 44 essays of Hali.Volume 2 was published in 1968, this includes 12 speeches and 52 reviews of Hali on the books, literary magazines and newspapers. These both volumes were published by the Majlis-e-taraqi-e-adab,Lahore.It is a greart effort of the editor, Kulliyat-e-nasr-e-Hali that he collected the speeches, articles and reviews of Hali but there are serious mistakes in mentioning the dates and sources (makhzat) in the text of this collection. In this article, "Kulliyat-e-nasr-e-Hali AikTehqeeqi Mutalia", I have pointed out these mistakes with references

Attitudes towards the children immunization at population level in Sheikh Maltoon Town, Mardan, KPK
Introduction: Vaccine is a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from causative agent of disease, its products or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease. In current world, vaccine is the most effective method of preventing infectious disease. It is also one of the cost effective method against high morbid diseases. Although despite its effectiveness, proper vaccination has not been achieved. This could be the result of defect in the any step in the conduction of vaccination of process but the most important factor affecting vaccination is attitudes of population towards immunization and different barriers for population for achieving proper vaccination. Our study is important because so far, there is no such study done in the setting of sheikh maltoon town, Mardan, KPK. Objectives: Our objectives were: 1) To determine the different attitudes of parents towards children immunization, 2) To determine different myths and beliefs regarding immunization. Methodology: The study design used for the study was cross-sectional, conducted in the setting of sheikh maltoon town, mardan, kpk.
