The Political Thought of the Late H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founder of the United Arab Emirates (1966 - 2004)
This thesis highlights the political thought of H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a man who made decisive contributions to the history of the twentieth century, and the various reflections of this political thought on the UAE, its people and the international community at large. In this regard, it explores and analyzes a multifaceted political thought that took its form in political practice in the establishment of the Federation, the management of crises and in the building of a prosperous enduring nation. Evaluating the factors that influenced the formation of the doctrinal matrix of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, this thesis traces the background from within which Sheikh Zayed’s leadership skills evolved and developed. From his early years onwards, Sheikh Zayed made a firm commitment to undertake the considerable task of building a fully fledged state out of a divided tribal background, improve the lives of citizens, and carve a place for the UAE in the international arena.
This research project illustrates the implications and dimensions of Sheikh Zayed's political thinking process exemplified in his discursive statements and actions. It documents and analyzes the career achievements of Sheikh Zayed, a statesman acknowledged by contemporary and future generations to have had significant impact on the political direction and overall development of the UAE. This impact also demonstrates the potential of his contribution to the field of political thought.
One of this study’s primary conclusions is that the accomplishments of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan during his rule have resulted primarily from his development of an integrated doctrine of governance that reflected his humanistic outlook. In this regard, at both the domestic and international levels, Sheikh Zayed’s political decisions and acts were undertaken with reference to this outlook
Renewal of the Soul According to Sheikh Hamza Yusuf (1958-2025)
Education is a fundamental aspect of shaping the human personality as a whole, including the soul, which serves as the center of consciousness and morality. This study aims to describe the concept of soul education as well as other aspects of soul renewal found in The Agenda of Soul Renewal by Sheikh Hamza Yusuf (January 1, 1958). This research employs a qualitative descriptive method using library research. The main data source is the book Agenda of Soul Renewal, supported by relevant books and journals. The findings indicate that the agenda not only presents soul education as a process of purification and personal development but also elaborates a broader concept of soul renewal, including introspection, spiritual reform, and strengthening social roles. According to Sheikh Hamza Yusuf, soul renewal encompasses moral, emotional, and social dimensions that are interconnected in shaping a holistic human being. Besides internal obstacles such as egoism and unsupportive environments, the agenda emphasizes practical improvement steps through the implementation of Islamic values such as the pillars of faith and Islam, virtuous character, da'wah, charity, remembrance (dhikr), and empathy
Computational fluid dynamics analysis of a modified Savonius rotor and optimization using response surface methodology
This article aims to present a two-dimensional parametric analysis of a modified Savonius wind turbine using computational fluid dynamics. The effects of three independent parameters of the rotor, namely, shape factor, overlap ratio, and tip speed ratio on turbine performance were studied and then optimized for maximum coefficient of performance using response surface methodology. The rotor performance was analyzed over specific domains of the parameters under study, and three-variable Box-Behnken design was used for design of experiment. The specific parametric combinations as per design of experiment were simulated using ANSYS Fluent®, and the response variable, coefficient of performance (Cp), was calculated. The sliding mesh model was utilized, and the flow was simulated using Shear Stress Transport (SST) k − ω model. The model was validated using past experimental results and found to predict parametric effects accurately. Minitab® and ReliaSoft DOE++® were used to develop regression equation and find the optimum combination of parameters for coefficient of performance over the specified parametric domains using response surface methodology. </jats:p
Social and economic structure of Hamza Baba village in the mid-19th century : (According to the no: 2444 of i̇ncom register); [Hamza Baba köyü'nün XIX. Yüzyilin ortalarindaki̇ sosyal ve ekonomi̇k yapisi : (2444 numarali temettüat defteri'ne göre)]
Hamza Baba is an Alawi-Bektashi village in Izmir, Kemalpasha. Name of the village is given after the lodge was established by Hamza Baba. In oral history, the establishment of the lodge goes back as far as 14th, 15th. cent AD. Otherwise chronicles start to give some information about Hamza Baba lodge in 1521-1522. The tomb of Hamza Baba is also in the same village after his name but the lodge did not survive. In Ottoman documents, some information is given about the settlement as a village in 1840. This paper examines the incom register (temettüat defteri) written in 1845. Information in register have been gathered in order to give some information about Hamza Baba Village's social and economic form. At this time the estimated population of the 10 housed village is 36. An income of the population is agriculture and public service. The job of heads of the household is given as farmer and laborer. In limited farming lands, sesame, wheat, barley, cotton, corn, grape, almond and olive cultivation have been carried on. According to production amount, the economic power of the inhabitants is quite weak. It is because the agricultural production does not met the consumption of the village. The only information about the existence of the lodge or tekke is the acceptance of one of the household as sheikh in the register
Victims of autocrats: from Hamza al-Khateeb to Abu Sayed
The comparable patterns in the behaviour of Bashar al-Assad and Sheikh Hasina are staggering and tempt us to believe that one autocrat followed the playbook of the other. Both put the blame of the killing of their victims on their opponents. Both forced the bereaved family members of their victims to meet them, as they contrived to manufacture and show sympathy to them in public. Both presented themselves as kind and compassionate to the family members of their victims and promised them investigation and justice. Both ordered the use of force to crush protesters and perpetuate their rule. However, eventually, it has worked for one so far, but didn't work for the other
Mir Hamza Nigari's Nigar-name poem
Mir Hamza Nigârî, is an important literary individual (person) who lived in the nineteenth century. He began to write poems after joining the sect. He has two Divans (collections of lyric poems), and three Mesnevis (poems in rhymed couplets) called "Nigar-nâme", Çay-nâme and Sâki-nâme in Turkish and Persion languages. These works are sufficient reasons that he is to take his place in our history of literature. "Nigar-ndme" poem (mesnevi), which is our study subject, has completely a religious theosophistical structure as for its content. Like Nigârî' s other works, it is necessary to assess "Nigar-nâme" in Religious- Theosophistical Turkish literature absolutely. We started our study by writing our present texts in Latin letters. We dealt witt "Nigar-nâme" under main titles such as preface, introduction research (examination), result, specific bibliografhy, text, dictionary and index. We studied the general structure in an entrance aspect as politikal, social and cultural of the period in which the work was written. As a result of Nigârî's pedlar life, we tried to reach the samples of Azerbaijan and Anotolian tongue structure faced in his works. As a shape, we discussed the subjeds such as metre, ryme and narritive forms. With these methods, we tried to examine on the literary personage and art of Nigârî. The aim of our study is to introduce and make understand Mir Hamza Nigârî who was a sect sheikh and literati

Manipulating wavelength-selective emission with heterogeneous photonic crystals
The usual near-field radiation profile of a light beam emanating from a photonic crystal waveguide (PCW) has a main lobe at the center line of the waveguide. However, a centrally symmetric profile for the emission pattern with two sidelobes can be required in some applications, e.g., Y-type power dividers, wavelength multiplexers, and semiconductor lasers. With such motivations in mind, we present the design of a compact structure that deflects the beam propagation direction in this manner. The idea utilizes the manipulation of the dispersion diagram of cascaded photonic crystals by exploiting the bandgap and self-collimation properties. The waveguide mode in the PCW can be transformed from a propagating mode into a diffusive one by altering the filling factor, which, in turn, leads to off-axis light emission. By using the finite-difference time-domain method, we show that the emission takes place into free space at the inclined output surfaces of the PCW with deviation angles of +/- 45 degrees.
