Cyber-Physical Co-Simulation Testbed for Real-Time Reactive Power Control in Smart Distribution Network
Existing electric power distribution systems are evolving and changing as a result of the high renewable energy sources integration. Hence, future smart distribution networks will involve various technical challenges; one of them is real-time monitoring and controlling the network to operate it effectively and efficiently. This paper develops and analyzes a cyber-physical co-simulation testbed for real-time reactive power control in the smart distribution network. The testbed is a two-layer system, with Typhoon HIL 604 representing the physical layer and the other layer as a cybernetic layer. The cybernetic layer is used to model a test system and control reactive power from smart inverters in real-time. The implementation of real-time reactive power control of smart inverters on a CIGRE MV distribution network is shown in this study. Pyrazolylbenzo[d]imidazoles as new potent and selective inhibitors of carbonic anhydrase isoforms hCA IX and XII
Novel pyrazolylbenzo[d]imidazole derivatives (2a-2f) were designed, synthesized and evaluated against four human carbonic anhydrase isoforms belonging to α family comprising of two cytosolic isoforms hCA I and II as well as two transmembrane tumor associated isoforms hCA IX and XII. Starting from these derivatives that showed high potency but low selectivity in favor of tumor associated isoforms hCA IX and XII, we investigated the impact of removing the sulfonamide group. Thus, analogs 3a-3f without sulfonamide moiety were synthesized and biological assay revealed a good activity as well as an excellent selectivity as inhibitors for tumor associated hCA IX and hCA XII and the same was analyzed by molecular docking studies
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Temporary Load Shedding - Optimization of power distribution system using load shedding Techniques
In today’s world, electrical energy is a necessity. The dependency on electricity is increasing day by day which caused the system to work under a stress state close to stability limits and disturbances. An efficient power system supplying electrical energy must be reliable, stable, secure, and reasonable to meet consumer needs. The power demand depends on several factors and weather is one of the main in them.
The thesis is done with the cooperation of Arva As. for the Tromsøya region in northern Norway. In Northern Norway, during the winter season, the temperature falls to -20˚C which eventually causes the rise in demand for electricity to meet the heating needs. The heating of households plays a big role in increasing demand.
To avoid contingency and keep the distribution grid stable during the winter season a temporary load shedding scheme has been proposed by using the load curves and grid model that was analyzed through power flow analysis. It includes procedures for detection of voltage stability on buses with voltage stability indexes and plans to temporarily shut the heating system and sources to avoid the stress on the grid in peak hours with available communication possibilities

Modeling and Analyzing of Inverters for Controlling Voltage and Frequency in an Islanded Microgrid
Recently, the growth of inverter-based generations (IBGs) like solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind turbine generators in the form of microgrids (MGs) has been increasing. However, control of voltage and frequency becomes a challenging task for MGs especially when they operate in an islanded mode, due to the inherent low-inertia feature of IBGs compared to a grid-tied mode where there is a grid support. This thesis deals with modeling and analyzing of inverters capable of controlling voltage and frequency through external conventional droop control for the islanded operation of MG. In this thesis, a state space model is developed for a voltage source inverter with droop control. Moreover, non-linear models for the inverters in single and parallel cases with droop control are developed and the results are verified in different load scenarios. The results show a good performance of the projected control, both in the isolated operation of an inverter supplying a load, and in the parallel operation of isolated inverters, where there is power sharing to properly feed the load. Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
