Here, for the first time we report a neodymium mode-locked fiber laser emitting at 905 nm in the all-fiber polarization maintaining configuration. We obtain a self-starting pulse generation in nonlinear amplifying loop mirror (NALM) cavity configuration. To suppress a dominant emission at 1064 nm corresponding to a 4-level laser scheme, we use an active fiber - 920/1064 division multiplexer - active fiber sandwich-like sequence in the NALM loop. A rectangular shape dissipative soliton had nJ energy, 30 pm spectral width and 80 ÷ 430 ps width linearly depending on the pump power. Excellent agreement with numerical simulation allowed us to recover pulse shape and width for the pulses out of autocorrelation window.Peer reviewe

Risk <inf>in polytrauma</inf> factors and prevention of nosocomial pneumonia

Nosocomial pneumonia (NK) is one of the most frequent complications of polytrauma leading to death. Meanwhile, the recommendations on prevention of NK in case of polytrauma have not been specified so far. This is due in large part to the lack of study of the pathophysiology of severe combined trauma. The review presents the results of modern experimental and clinical studies of the effect of shock, immune distress syndrome, posttraumatic immunosuppression, the phenomenon of mutual aggravation of lesions, age, sex, concomitant pathology on the risk of NK in polytrauma. The role of iatrogenic risk factors for NK in polytrauma – intubation of trachea and artificial lung ventilation (AVL), massive hemotransfusions, immobilization, the phenomenon of “second strike” after multiple surgeries has been determined. The most effective measures of NK prevention are reduction of the duration of AVL, prevention of oropharyngeal colonization and aspiration in case of AVL, use of inhalation antibacterial drugs, anti-shock measures, early mobilization of the patient, the earliest possible stable functional osteosynthesis by minimally traumatic methods. The data on the effectiveness of selective decontamination of intestines, probiotics and glucocorticosteroids for the prevention of NK in polytrauma are inconsistent. A promising area of NK prophylaxis may be the development of agents that regulate the complex mechanisms of immune response to polytrauma and prevent secondary acute lung injury and post-traumatic immunosuppression

One of the areas of development of gas chromatography is the creation of new chromatographic materials that have improved sorption and analytical characteristics. In this work, for the first time, a new sorbent based on Silochrom C-120 modified with nickel acetylacetonate was studied using a complex of physico-chemical methods. It has been established that due to chemical modification of silica gel surface with nickel acetylacetonate the surface area of the specific surface decreases from 112 to 98 m2/g and surface acidity diminishes by 1.2 pH units. Using the thermogravimetric analysis it has been revealed that the obtained sorbent can be used in gas chromatography up to 290°C. Gas chromatography method was used to investigate the adsorption properties of the modified materials. According to the retention data of adsorbates: n-alkanes (C6-C9), benzene, ethanol, nitropropane and butanone-2 the differential molar adsorption energy q̄dif, 1, Henry adsorption constants К1,С, the differential molar entropy ΔS̄S1 and Δ q̄dif, 1 (special) of adsorbates in dispersion and specific interactions were calculated. The influence of the modifying additive on the changings in the thermodynamic retention characteristics of all sorbates because of the manifestation of specific sorbate-sorbent interactions has been shown. The highest values of the thermodynamic parameters were indicative for sorbates forming hydrogen bonds and capable of donor-acceptor interaction

Glomerular filtration and diuresis are related to the state of lipids peroxidation in female rats exposed to water-salt loads accompanied by chronic stress Xawery Żukow1, Yuriy V Zavidnyuk2 1Medical University of Bialystok, Bialystok, Poland [email protected] 2IY Horbachevs’kyi National Medical University, Ternopil’, Ukraine [email protected] Summary Background. It is known about the existence of close functional link between adequate working kidney nephrons and bone metabolism. Focused monitoring of renal function is able to provide substantial assistance in the organization of preventive measures against latently emerging osteoporosis. Activation of lipoperoxidation is known to inhibit glomerular filtration, whereas antioxidants prevent this. We set ourselves the goal of clarifying correlations between glomerular filtration, as well as tubular water reabsorption and daily diuresis, on the one hand, and lipoperoxidation parameters, on the other hand. Materials and Methods. Experiment was performed on 50 healthy female Wistar rats 240-290 g, both intact and exposed to water-salt loads. By the size of the diuresis and the level of creatinine in plasma and urine, glomerular filtration and tubular reabsorption were calculated. The plasma levels of diene conjugates and malondyaldehide as well as catalase of plasma and superoxide dismutase of erythrocytes were determined. The levels of the first three parameters determined in urine too. Results. In conditions of water-salt loads accompanied by chronic stress, glomerular filtration is downregulated by malondialdehyde and superoxide dismutase; diuresis is also downregulated by malondialdehyde, but upregulated by catalase. Lipoperoxidation parameters determine kidney function by 52,8%. Conclusion. The obtained data indicate the role of lipoperoxidation as a accompaniment of chronic stress in the regulation of kidney functions. Previously, we have shown that the weekly load of rats with water-salt solutions of different chemical compositions causes both general and specific reactions of the parameters of metabolism. The purpose of this study is to identify under these conditions specific neuroendocrine and immune responses. Materials and methods. Experiment was performed on 58 healthy female Wistar rats 240-290 g divided into 6 groups. Animals of the first group remained intact, using tap water from drinking ad libitum. Instead, the other rats received the same tap water as well as waters Sophiya, Naftussya, Gertsa and its artificial salt analogue through the probe at a dose of 1,5 mL/100 g of body mass for 6 days. The day after the completion of the drinking course in all rats some neuroendocrine and immune parameters were registered. Results. The method of discriminant analysis revealed 29 parameters of the neuroendocrine-immune complex (10 of them reflect the neuroendocrine regulation, 4 thymus mass and thymocytogram elements, 5 elements of splenocytogram, 10 elements of immunocytogram and leukocytogram of blood and parameters of phagocytosis), according to which the reaction on various water-salt loads are identified with an accuracy of 98.3%. Conclusion. The peculiarities of the reactions of the parameters of the neuroendocrine-immune complex are due to the content of water in sulfate, bicarbonate and magnesium, as well as organic carbon and nitrogen. The molecular characteristics of the copolymer were received using size-exclusion chromatography. The physicochemical characterization of the D-g-PNIPAM-Cis-Pt (or Dox) nanosystem was conducted using dynamic light scattering and FTIR spectroscopy. Using traditional biochemical methods, a comparative analysis of the enhancement of the cytotoxic effect of free Cis-Pt and Dox in combination with D-g-PNIPAM copolymers was performed in cancer cells of the Lewis lung carcinoma line, which are both sensitive and resistant to Dox; in addition, the mechanism of their action in vitro was evaluated

Problems of the Doctrinal Interpretation of Law

    No full text
The article observes the problems of understanding of legal hermeneutics and doctrinal interpretation. The author concludes that the issue of interpretation of the law has already developed into the thematic framework of the general theory of law and state, and now is a subject of a specific applied science - legal hermeneutics, which has different ways of interpreting the law. The author focuses of the definition of the object of doctrinal interpretation and its types. After carrying out the analysis the author concludes that the doctrinal interpretation of the objects is very diverse and does not mean only interpretation of the law. Almost all the elements of the legal system can be subjects to scientific analysis and forecasting. In contrary to the opinion affirmed in the literature on the theory of law and state that the doctrinal interpretation is a kind of informal interpretation of the law, the author makes a conclusion that the doctrinal interpretation can be official, unofficial and officious i.e. it can have the semi-official character, such as the conclusion to bills. The author considers that despite the fact that in modern Russia the doctrine is not recognized as an official source of law it has a tremendous impact on the legislator, in particular, his legal mind, his psychology foundations. The best samples of scientific doctrines presented in the first chapter of the Constitution. E.g. it is Montesquieu’s theory on the separation of powers, idea of the federal structure of the Russian state, ideas of a secular and democratic state, which withstood a major test of time. This is idea of Lorenz von Stein of the social character of the state, too. After considering the various approaches to understanding the sources of law the author comes to the conclusion that if the interpretation of the results is prepared by a famous legal scholar, is set out in the field of a recognized theory, a certain concept, the legal paradigm, it must be recognized as the legal source and one needs to refer to it in resolution of legal problems in the administration and courts of various levels

Drinking mineral water is one of the ethnopharmacologic factors. Organic substances, despite their presence in all drinking mineral waters, are still considered to be active only in the water of Naftussya type (which, due to mineralization less than 1 g/L, are not formally mineral), whereas the physiological activity of true mineral waters (which mineralization is greater than 1-2 g/L) are associated with electrolytes and trace elements. Previously, we identified the role of organic carbon and nitrogen of mineral waters in their effects on certain metabolic and neuro-endocrine parameters. The purpose of this study is to clarify the role of organic substances of same mineral waters in their effects on immunity parameters. Material and methods. Experiment was performed on 48 healthy female Wistar rats 240-290 g divided into 5 groups. Animals of the first group for 6 days administered a single tap water through the tube at a dose of 1,5 mL/100 g of body mass. In the second group we administered the water Naftussya from the Truskavets’ layer (Galychyna, Ukraine), in the third group the water Sophiya of the Truskavets’ field. The rats of the fourth group received the native water from the Hertsa (Bucovyna, Ukraine) field, and the last group received its artificial salt analogue. The day after the completion of the drinking course in all rats immunne parameters were registered. Results. On the basis of the correlation analysis with step-by-step exclusion, 9 immune parameters (Endotheliocytes of Thymus, Spleen Mass Index, Entropy of Splenocytogram, Natural Killers, B- and 0-Lymphocytes, Rod-shaped Neutrophils, Phagocytic Index and Microbian Count of Monocytes of Blood) are included in the regressive model for organic nitrogen (R=0,818) and 6 parameters (Endotheliocytes of Thymus, Fibroblastes and Reticulocytes of Spleen, Pan-Lymphocytes, Microbian Count of Neutrophils and Phagocytic Index of Monocytes of Blood) for organic carbon (R=0,690). Together, the organic components of the chemical composition of loading fluids determine their effect on the immune parameters by 77%. Conclusion. Organic substances of mineral waters play an essential role in their effects on the immune parameters of female rats. Key words: Mineral waters, organic carbon and nitrogen, female rats, immunity
