Precise Leveling Survey at the Yuli fault, Southeast Taiwan
Longitudinal valley faults in eastern Taiwan are commonly considered collision boundary between the Eurasian plate and Philippine sea plate. Yuli fault, one of the active segments of the longitudinal valley faults, was established about 30km leveling route to detect the vertical deformation and the precise leveling surveys were conducted in August 2008. Closing errors are checked for the effects of random errors and systematic errors. We believe that relative elevations were measured with a high accuracy of about 1.5mm per 30 km.departmental bulletin pape
Large Aseismic Creep Detected by Precise Leveling Survey at the Central Part of the Longitudinal Valley Fault, Southeast Taiwan (2008-2011)
The Longitudinal Valley fault, a major reverse fault dipping eastward in eastern Taiwan, is commonly considered as the collision boundary between the Eurasian plate and Philippine Sea plate. Some aseismic creep motions had been detected across the central and southern part of the Longitudinal Valley fault based on the GPS measurements and creep-meters. In order to discuss the spatio-temporal distribution of the aseismic creep motion in the central part of this fault, we established four precise leveling routes (the Yuli , Dongli , Fuli , and Chike-shan routes). At first, four precise leveling surveys along the Yuli route were repeatedly conducted in every August from 2008 to 2011. The overview of the deformation detected in the Yuli route is as follows. An uplift rate of about 30 mm/year has been detected within 2 km in width across the fault. To the east of the fault, the uplift rate gradually reduce eastward with the distance, and down to 15 mm/year at the east coast. Since there was no significant earthquake occurred in the fault during the 3-year observation period, the detected deformation has been resulted from the aseismic creep motion. The creeping motion might occur at the same location of the fault with a constant rate in that the deformation denoted the same tendency and rate during all measurement periods. Furthermore, we conducted another three routes in the Dongli, Fuli, and Chike-shan areas to detect the spatial distribution of the aseismic creep motion in August 2010 and 2011. The results show vertical deformation rates of 25 mm/year and 10 mm/year were detected in the Fuli route and the Chike-shan route, respectively.departmental bulletin pape
NASKAH PRIMBON HIRZ AL-YAMANI (Suntingan dan Kajian Isi Teks)
Yuli Tri Hastuti. 2018. Primbon Text Hirz Al-Yamani: (Editing and Study of Text Content) Thesis. Indonesian Literature Department, Faculty of Cultural Sciences. Diponegoro University. Semarang. Advisor: Dr. Muh. Abdullah, MA The Primbon Hirz Al-Yamani manuscript is a collection of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia (PNRI) with the catalog number Br7 which reads Arabic Pegon. The Primbon Hirz Al-Yamani manuscript is a form of prose which contains the functions and benefits of hirz prayer. In this study, data sources are divided into two, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data sourced from Primbon Hirz Al-Yamani texts obtained through catalog studies in museums or libraries. Secondary data comes from books or other sources that are located as supporting research. The theory used in this study is the theory of philology and mimeic theory. Philological theory is used to get translations and edits of text. The text editing method used in this study is the standard method. In addition, to find out the contents contained in the Primbon Hirz Al-Yamani text, the authors use mimetic theory. The mimetic model used in this study is mimetic according to Abrams. Based on the analysis conducted by the author, the Primbon Hirz Al-Yamani text is a pesantren literary text containing Isim A'zhom in it. To get a practice, Hizib must go through a diploma directly to a teacher and ask for his guidance directly. Keywords: Primbon Hirz Al-Yamani manuscript, philology, mimetic
Problems of Russian Theatrical Reception of Shakespeare in Criticism of Yuli Eichenwald
The problem of this study lies in evaluating the methodological approach of Yuli Eichenwald (1872—1928) as a theatrical critic and theorist, specifically his writings on Shakespearean productions both in Russia and abroad. Known primarily as a literary critic, Eichenwald also wrote about theater, but his works in this area have been largely unexplored. The aim of this study is to shed light on Eichenwald's principles of theatrical criticism. The material used consists of little-known articles by Eichenwald on theater theory and Shakespearean productions from 1903 to 1927. The research employs hermeneutic and comparative methods. The findings reveal that Eichenwald demonstrates a literature-centric position in his articles on theater, according to which theater is merely an illustration of literary works. He increasingly uses productions as a pretext to discuss Shakespeare, often without mentioning the actors or directors. Eichenwald’s perception of theater as a mediator, as an auxiliary device between the play and the reader, leads to his rejection of the concept of directorial theater and the denial of the director as the author of the production. The authors conclude that Eichenwald’s theatrical criticism is a logical outcome of literature-centric judgments about theater, from Aristotle to Hegel, where theater is considered as part of literature
The impact of investor attention during COVID-19 on investment in clean energy versus fossil fuel firms
The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has had significant negative impacts on financial markets, including energy stock markets. However, recently proposed and implemented green recovery plans may mean that clean energy firms demonstrate better performance than fossil fuel firms after the pandemic. As more voices call for the update of clean energy, theory on investor attention suggests investors will pay more attention to the potential to invest in clean energy stocks. Using a sample period of eight weeks before and during the pandemic, we find that the negative impact of the outbreak on both clean energy and fossil fuel firms is more significant for fossil fuel firms. Our results further show that during the pandemic there have been improved returns for clean energy firms as a consequence of investor attention, but not for fossil fuel firms. Our findings provide empirical evidence for the advantages of green recovery schemes in influencing financial markets, especially for clean energy stocks. These results suggest there are benefits for further promotion and implementation of green recovery stimulus measures post-pandemic.</p
Assessments of the environmental performance ofglobal companies need to account for company size: supplementary data
Enclosed here are all the data generated for the publication: Assessments of the environmental performance of global companies need to account for company size. Rossana Mastrandrea, Rob ter Burg, Yuli Shan, Klaus Hubacek & Franco Ruzzenenti. The included files provide data on the beta and gamma (slope and intercept) for both univariate and multivariate regressions, for every sector/industry, for all the 4 impact indicators and all the 4 size categories. We also included basic statistics for all impact indicators and size variables (correlation, R2 and p-values). </p
