Therapeutic outdoor design for mental patients / Abd. Haris Shamsuddin
The awareness that outdoor design may promote health was discovered during the earliest Civilization of man. Gardens were known as places that could provide peacefulness and rest, as Well as to offer therapeutic benefit. However, as the interest in science advanced, the role of Outdoor design for therapeutic purposes has been neglected. Studies have indicated that there Are four considerations in designing an outdoor area that may contribute therapeutic benefits: I) it should promote a sense of control amongst patients as well as to allow privacy; Ii) the arrangement should accommodate social support from visitors, relatives and Administration staff; Hi) the layout should encourage physical movement for users as well as exercise activities; Iv) it should provide access to nature as well as other positive distractions. In general, mental patients are physically fit. However, they are in a position of mental disorder and the curing treatment concentrates on evoking their memory and rationalising their thinking Ability. Therefore, it is suggested that the focus of outdoor therapeutic design for mental patients should be aimed towards reducing their stress as well as stimulating the mind graduall

Feasibility study on proposed Master in Landscape Architecture Program for the Department of Landscape Architecture, FSPU / Abd. Haris Shamsuddin, Alamah Misni and Prof. Madya Anuar Mohd Noor
The Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying at the Universiti
Teknologi MARA was set up in 1967 as the School of Applied Arts. The School
was separated into two art-based different schools in 1971, which was then set
with a new name as the School of Art and Architecture. Over the time, the
School has been upgraded and now known as the Faculty of Architecture,
Planning and Surveying (FSPU). It has been significantly expanded and the
curriculum offers a broad range of study in built environment including
architecture; interior architecture; landscape architecture; building surveying;
town and regional planning; estate management; building; construction and
project management; quantity surveying; geomantic science; and parks &
amenity management.
As part of the government aspiration of the university towards 200,000
enrolments in year 2015, the faculty is continuously expanding and increases its
students. The number of programs offered amplify from four in 1967 to twenty
eight in 2006. These include the under graduate, graduate and post graduates
level of built environment programs.
At graduate level, presently there are two by-coursework programs offers
by the faculty namely as Master of Science in Facilities Management and Master
of Science in Integrated Construction Project Management. The faculty has also
been permitted to start with further Masters by-taught programs of Master of
Science (Management and Heritage Conservation), and Master of Science in
Urban Development and Management recently.
The Goal of the Study
The landscape curriculum in the faculty was started in 1985 with the
beginning of Diploma in Landscape Design program at the Shah Alam campus.
In 1995, the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture with honours was introduced.
Since the faculty has set it's aim that each department should begin their Master
by-coursework program by year 2006, the Department of Landscape Architecture
is observing similar task and will gear up it's capability with the aim to initiate the
program not later than year 2007. The research is conducted as a possibility
study towards the opening of this program in the faculty

MODEL PELAKSANAAN PENDIDIKAN PESANTREN MODERN DI INDONESIA
According to records from the Ministry of Religious Affairs in 1997, the number of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia has reached 9,388 (up 224%). Meanwhile, the number of students has reached 1,770,768 people (up 261%). The latest data, in 2011, the number of Islamic boarding schools is now 27,218 with as many as 3,650,000 students. Pesantren, when viewed from historical, sociological and anthropological views, this institution should be seen as an alternative educational institution in Indonesia. But the government seems to look underestimated with other formal educational institutions. On the one hand, the government recognizes the products or quality of pesantren graduates, but on the other hand, pesantren remain pesantren that are not fully recognized as educational institutions. Departing from the above reality, in turn it has invited the attention of many people to continuously observe, research, or study the dynamics, development, and existence of pesantren in Indonesia. Therefore, in this paper the author tries to present the theme of the implementation of pesantren by displaying the implementation model of modern Islamic boarding schools in Indonesi
Kata Kunci: Kooperatif Tipe STAD,Hasil Belajar FisikaThis research is a classroom action research (Classroom Action Research) carried out during two cycles, this study aims to improve the learning outcomes of physics through cooperative learning model type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Divisions). The research subjects were students of SMP Negeri 3 Marbo VIII.c district students Takalar 32 people consisting of 18 women and 14 men. Data collection was performed using a test cycle I and cycle II, observation sheets, research instrument made by the author. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results showed that the average scores of students in the first cycle of 63.68 and at the high category, with a standard deviation of 17.09, while in the second cycle obtained an average score of 73.37 at the high category with a standard deviation of 11, 49. This suggests that student learning outcomes have been achieved by a minimum completeness criteria (KKM) is 65.00 school set, where the first cycle of 32 students, there are 18 people or 56.25% who completed the study and there were 14 students atau43, 75% who did not complete her studies. While in the second cycle of 32 students there are 30 people or 93.75% were complete learning and there are 2 people or 6.25% of incomplete learning. From these results it can be concluded that with the implementation of cooperative learning with the learning model Type STAD (Student Teams Achievement Divisions) on VIII.C grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Marbo Takalar district, the student's learning outcomes can be improved. Keywords: Type STAD cooperative, Physics Learning Outcome
