GSNSW Exploration NSW Area R Enngonia magnetic first vd grid geodetic
Maintenance and Update Frequency: notPlannedStatement: This GSNSW Exploration NSW Area R Enngonia magnetic first vd grid geodetic is a first vertical derivative grid of the Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI) anomaly for the NSW DMR, Discovery 2000, AREA R, ENNGONIA, NSW 2001. The survey was acquired under the project No. 755 for the geological survey of NSW. A total of 34611 line-kilometres of data at a line spacing of 400m and 80m terrain clearance were acquired to produce the TMI grid. A first vertical derivative was calculated by applying a fast Fourier transform (FFT) process to the Total Magnetic Intensity grid of the NSW DMR, Discovery 2000, AREA R, ENNGONIA, NSW 2001 survey to produce this grid. This grid was calculated using an algorithm from the INTREPID Geophysics software package. The processed data are checked by GA geophysicists using standard methods for assessing quality to ensure that the final data are fit-for-purpose. The grid has a cell size of 0.00077 degrees (approximately 80m). The grid has units of nanoTesla per km (or nT/km). The first vertical derivative grid is very helpful for the enhancement of near surface features and structural features such as faults and dykes. Details of the specifications of individual airborne surveys can be found in the Fourteenth Edition of the Index of Airborne Geophysical Surveys (Percival, 2014). Magnetic anomalies can be either positive (field stronger than normal) or negative (field weaker) depending on the susceptibility of the rock. The data are processed via standard methods to ensure the response recorded is that due only to the rocks in the ground. The results produce datasets that can be interpreted to reveal the geological structure of the sub-surface. The final version is available from University of Barcelona via the link in this record.In the 27 years that have passed since the McLaren, Kaye and Mackintosh (MKM) model of perceptual learning was first proposed, it has undergone considerable theoretical development and been subject to extensive empirical test. But we would argue that the basic principles of the theory remain as valid today as they were in 1989. One of these principles was that salience modulation of stimulus representations based on prediction error was a key component of latent inhibition and perceptual learning. It was this modification of what was otherwise a fairly basic adaptation of the model for categorisation proposed by McCleland and Rumelhart (M&R) that transformed a system that would exhibit enhanced generalisation as category learning progressed, into one that would instead offer an improved capacity for discrimination between exemplars as a consequence of experience with the category. This modification has only been tested indirectly up until now, by looking at the predictions that flow from it and then comparing them to animal and human discrimination following stimulus pre-exposure. In this chapter we test this principle more directly, by using tDCS to disrupt the modulation of salience by prediction error, and show that when this is done, people exhibit the enhanced generalisation predicted by the standard M&R model. We conclude that our results provide further support for the MKM approach to stimulus representation
Vitamin D Status Is an Independent Risk Factor for Global Cognitive Impairment in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients.
Vitamin D (VD) deficiency is an independent risk factor for cognitive impairment (CI) in the general population, but VD status in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients has not been investigated. In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between serum VD levels and global and specific cognitive functions in PD patients.Cross-sectional study, simultaneously conducted at two PD centers.Clinically stable patients (n = 273) undergoing PD for at least 3 months were enrolled over a period of one year.Demographic and comorbidity data were recorded, and routine biochemical parameters and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH) D) levels of overnight fasted patients were determined. Global cognitive function was assessed by the Modified Mini-Mental State Examination (3MS) score; executive function, by the trail making tests (Trails A and B); and immediate memory, delayed memory, and language ability by the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS) sub-tests.In the univariate analysis, serum 25(OH) D levels significantly correlated with 3MS scores (r = -0.139; P = 0.02), and Trail A (r = -0.188; P = 0.002) and B (r = -0.154; P = 0.01) completion times. In the multivariate analysis, 25(OH) D was found to be independently associated with global CI, but not with executive dysfunction. Serum 25(OH) D could not predict scores of immediate/delayed memory and language ability.VD deficiency is highly prevalent in PD patients and is an independent risk factor for global CI in this patient cohort
Effects of childbirth on podocyturia in women with normotensive, uncomplicated pregnancies
Changes in hemodynamics and blood pressure occur shortly before and after childbirth regardless of the mode of delivery. This study aimed to test the hypothesis that parturition induces a temporal increase in podocyturia monitored by podocyte-specific protein podocin mRNA expression levels (Pod-mRNA). A total of 105 urine specimens, consisting of 43 and 62 from 18 and 20 otherwise healthy women with vaginal delivery (VD) and elective cesarean delivery (ECS), respectively, were studied. Determination of urine protein and creatinine (Cr) concentrations and quantitative analyses of Pod-mRNA, nephrin mRNA (Nep-mRNA), synaptopodin mRNA (Syn-mRNA), and aquaporin 2 mRNA expression were performed using RT-PCR in pelleted urine samples. Levels of mRNA expression were corrected by urine Cr concentration. Podocyturia increased significantly, concomitant with a significantly decreased Nep:Pod-mRNA ratio (NPR) in the urine, collected immediately before or after childbirth regardless of the delivery mode compared with urine collected before commencement of labor or on postpartum day 3 or later. Podocyturia was significantly negatively correlated with NPR [correlation coefficient (r) = -0.614/-0.750 for VD/ECS women, respectively], as well as the Syn:Pod-mRNA ratio. Systolic blood pressure exceeded 140 mmHg during labor in 50% of VD women, and mean arterial pressure was significantly positively correlated with podocyturia during labor in VD women (r = 0.733). Thus parturition induces a transient increase in urine podocytes with reduced Nep- and Syn-mRNA expressions. Glomerular podocytes with reduced Nep- and Syn-mRNA levels were suggested to be likely to detach from the glomerular basement membrane around childbirth
Effects of random phase and amplitude errors in optical fiber Bragg gratings
This paper studies the influence of random phase and amplitude fabrication errors on the performance of optical filters based on fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). In particular, we analyze two effects of particular importance for optical communications: the excess crosstalk induced in apodized gratings commonly used in wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) systems, and the time-delay fluctuations that appear in chirped gratings employed to compensate the fiber dispersion. A statistical model is presented to explain these effects in terms of the coherence length of the grating fabrication procedure
Chiral Doublet Bands with vh(11/2) circle times vd(5/2)(-1) Configuration in the Particle Rotor Model
Doublet bands with vh(11/2) circle times vd(5/2)(-1) configuration are studied for the first time via the triaxial particle rotor model. The main properties of the doublet bands, including the energy spectra and the electromagnetic transitions, are presented for different triaxiality parameter gamma. Resultat och slutsats: Studien finner inget signifikant samband mellan nedskrivningar och VD-byte. Slutsatsen blir således att svenska börsnoterade bolag inte utför big bath vid byte av verkställande direktör. Empirical basis: The essay studies companies listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange's Small Cap, Mid Cap and Large Cap between the years 2010-2023. Results and conclusion: The study finds no significant relationship between write-downs and CEO changes. The conclusion is thus that Swedish listed companies do not carry out big baths when changing the managing director. However, the tests have shown significant relationships between the various write-downs and total assets, return on assets and leverage.

Effectiveness of a multidimensional approach for prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia in adult intensive care units from 14 developing countries of four continents: Findings of the International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium
ObjectiveS:: The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of the International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium's multidimensional approach on the reduction of ventilator-associated pneumonia in patients hospitalized in intensive care units. DESIGN:: A prospective active surveillance before-after study. The study was divided into two phases. During phase 1, the infection control team at each intensive care unit conducted active prospective surveillance of ventilator-associated pneumonia by applying the definitions of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Health Safety Network, and the methodology of International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium. During phase 2, the multidimensional approach for ventilator-associated pneumonia was implemented at each intensive care unit, in addition to the active surveillance. SETTING:: Forty-four adult intensive care units in 38 hospitals, members of the International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium, from 31 cities of the following 14 developing countries: Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, India, Lebanon, Macedonia, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, Peru, and Turkey. PATIENTS:: A total of 55,507 adult patients admitted to 44 intensive care units in 38 hospitals. INTERVENTIONS:: The International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium ventilator-associated pneumonia multidimensional approach included the following measures: 1) bundle of infection-control interventions; 2) education; 3) outcome surveillance; 4) process surveillance; 5) feedback of ventilator-associated pneumonia rates; and 6) performance feedback of infection-control practices. MEASUREMENTS:: The ventilator-associated pneumonia rates obtained in phase 1 were compared with the rates obtained in phase 2. We performed a time-series analysis to analyze the impact of our intervention. MAIN RESULT:: During phase 1, we recorded 10,292 mechanical ventilator days, and during phase 2, with the implementation of the multidimensional approach, we recorded 127,374 mechanical ventilator days. The rate of ventilator-associated pneumonia was 22.0 per 1,000 mechanical ventilator days during phase 1, and 17.2 per 1,000 mechanical ventilator days during phase 2.The adjusted model of linear trend shows a 55.83percent reduction in the rate of ventilator-associated pneumonia at the end of the study period; that is, the ventilator-associated pneumonia rate was 55.83percent lower than it was at the beginning of the study.
