Anti-inflammatory potential of some eudesmanolide and guaianolide sesquiterpenes.
Ten sesquiterpene lactones isolated from Anvillea garcinii (Burm.f.) DC ethanolic extract were assessed for their anti-inflammatory potential by myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity assignment, and mice paw swelling model. 3α,4α-10β-trihydroxy-8α-acetyloxyguaian-12,6α-olide (1), epi-vulgarin (3), 9a-hydroxyparthenolide (4), garcinamine C (7), garcinamine D (8), garcinamine E (9), and 4, 9-dihydroxyguaian-10(14)-en-12-olide (10) showed explicit anti-inflammatory activity in rodent paw edema and MPO assignment. The findings of this study showed that the α-methylene γ-lactone moiety does not always guarantee an anti-inflammatory effect, but the presence of proline at the C of the lactone ring improves the binding of sesquiterpene lactones with MPO isoenzymes, resulting in a more potent inhibition
A Comparative Review of Selected Family Matters in Khair ul Touzeeh and Khair ul Mufateeh Interpretations of Mishkaat ul Masabeeh
The knowledge of hadith is a vast knowledge. Mostly all the hadiths of Sihah Sitta sums up in the "Mishkaat-ul-Masabeeh". Many interpretations of Mishkaat-ul-Masabeeh have been written in the subcontinent. In view of the importance and position of Mishkaat-ul-Masabeeh, the scholars of the Ummah have arranged its Arabic, Persian and Urdu interpretations in every era. The Urdu Sharhoohat of Mishkaat-ul-Masabeeh "Khair ul Mafatih and Khair ul Touzeeh" is also the link of the same chain. Maulana Mufti Abdul Rasheed Sahib is the author of "Khair ul Mafatih" and consists of six volumes. The main features of Khair ul Mafatih and Khair ul Touzeeh is that it is a detailed research phase of Mishkaat-ul-Masabeeh. The reason for choosing it is that it has been written in a very simple and easy way. In this article, the purpose of this research is to explain the style, characteristics and comparison of these two books of Ahadith related to specific family matters in a narrative and reasoned manner. The reason for doing research on Khair ul Mafatih is that the author has clarified the difficult words of the Holy Hadith. Through question and answer, he has made difficult researches easier. He has deduced new and legal issues. The religions of the jurists have been explained with arguments. The author has described the brief situations of the hadith narrators. He has made headings and paragraphs in the detailed topic. This rate is more comprehensive than other explanations
RETHINKING INDUSTRIAL POLICY
Despite the hold of the neoliberal orthodoxy on policy making in developing countries, industrial policy remains important for the promotion of industrial development. However, the context for the design of industrial policy has profoundly changed as a result of new rules governing international trade, the rise of global value chains and marketing networks, and other aspects of globalization. Traditionally, the case for industrial policy has been framed in terms of “market failures” but the paper argues that that is not a sufficient basis. After addressing the traditional points of criticism, an attempt is made to outline the “domains” of industrial policy in the current circumstances, especially for industrially lagging countries. As country contexts differ widely there are no satisfactory blueprints for policy making that countries can readily adopt. As in production decisions, considerable ingenuity and innovation is needed in designing policies. This is all the more necessary as the WTO rules have become increasingly stringent and the rise of international trading networks has created new barriers for young firms to enter the world market. These developments have changed the context but not the importance of policy in industrial development. The paper identifies areas where government intervention is needed and can still make a positive difference.
THE POTTER OF A STORY: MAZHAR UL ISLAM (BASIC STYLISTIC FEATURES IN THE STORIES OF MAZHAR UL ISLAM)
Mazhar ul Islam is one of the leading authors of contemporary Urdu literature. Due to the romantic, realist, surrealist, and symbolist concepts used in his works, the author's style, which allows contrasting or incompatible interpretations to be harmonized, is described as his most important feature. The events and characters in the stories of Mazhar ul Islam are generally a literary reflection of Pakistani society. At the same time, the author does not hesitate to bring the traces of his inner world to the reader. While reflecting local feelings and events in his works, Mazhar ul Islam mostly uses trend literary structures in world literature as a tool and indirectly contributes to the universalization process of Urdu literature. The main literary feature of the author is that he has a style of writing that transforms reality into mystery and then brings the real meaning of the mysterious with reality, allowing the cognitive process to begin without time and space. The works of the author are in the form of documents of his life, and therefore the emotional experiences that penetrated his soul, the stages he passed and the worldly issues he observed form the basis of his literary technique. The unconditional harmony arising from freedom, opposition and contrasts in the author's narrative is nourished by these contrasting life experiences. In this study, basic information about Mazhar ul Islam's life and career have been tried to be presented and the author's stories have been tried to be analyzed in a thematic context.TrdizinDiğe

Modulation of fine-scale velocity gradient phenomena by concurrent large-scale velocity fluctuations in a developed shear flow
The interaction between the large-scale velocity fluctuations (uL) and the small-scale velocity gradient phenomena, such as dissipation and the vortex stretching term, are examined in a turbulent free-shear flow. The difference between the probability density functions of these small-scale quantities conditioned on the sign of uL is quantified by means of the Kullback-Leibler divergence. It is observed that the interaction between uL and the velocity gradient phenomena is maximised at a filter length of 4λ, where λ is the Taylor length-scale. It is postulated that this is consistent with a mean shear mechanism

Methodology of Economics: Secular Versus Islamic
This book is based on the thesis that I submitted in August 2006 to the International Islamic University Malaysia in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the award of the PhD degree in Economics.It was a difficult topic but this reality dawned on me only after I had already crossed the point of no return. I found the area hazy and controversial in mainstream economics. In the case of Islamic economics the situation was even worse. Methodology was invariably confused with a research design or work plan. The subject in a formal form did not even exist. Whatever was available in the literature was part of discussions on Islamic economics or Shari’ah issues. Usually, the discussion was of a ‘touch and go’ nature. The writers were seldom found coming to grips with real issues in the area let alone reaching any worthwhile conclusions. Much confusion and controversy in the methodology of economics essentially centered on the efficacy of criteria, rules, and procedures that have to be observed for evaluating the performance of economics – secular or Islamic. In fact, until today there has hardly been a common view or a clear understanding among the Islamic scholars as to whether Islamic economics itself has a separate existence independent of its mainstream counterpart let alone having a methodology to assess and oversee it. In this dark and un-chartered area, I have tried to show that Islamic economics is both epistemologically ‘linked’ to and is also ‘independent’ of secular economics. To be precise, methodology of Islamic economics is and would broadly be the application of the Shari’ah norms to mainstream dispensation with a view to assessing their compatibility with the Islamic faith and the position of the Shari’ah on the many and divergent micro and macro economic issues. We shall find in the following discussion that the subject under the name ‘Islamic economics’ is presently no more than the result of applying the Islamic rules and injunctions, i.e. Islamic fiqh, to secular economics: Islamic economics is not yet, contrary to what some scholars would want us to believe, a discipline that replaces secular economics. In Islamic educational institutions worldwide, curricula and teaching programs are dominated – even if out of necessity –by course structures and reading materials appropriate for Western social setting and values designed as they are on the assumption of an impersonal market environment. The Islamization of Knowledge program in economics follows what one may call a ‘step-by-step approach’ for developing the subject. This de facto means that there has been no attempt to replace the mainstream concepts and theories completely with the pure Islamic ones: the initial plan has been just to modify and integrate them with what Islam would allow or could modify to fall in line with the Shari’ah tenets. When the subject itself was in a state of infancy, one need not wonder if its methodology were all the more found confused and patchy. However, it is this messy state of methodology that lends reason and significance to the present work. It fills a gap, however imperfect it might look: I am aware of its limitations. The main issue relevant to our discussion in this exploration was whether reality adjusts to doctrine or that doctrine conforms to the reality or one finds a mutual interaction between the two in the field of economics. What methodological affinities or divergences, if any, are between them? Also, we attempted to see whether prediction could or should be the hallmark of a theory in social sciences as is currently believed in economics at least, or the tractability of events, their analysis, and human prescription were of greater importance. It will be satisfying if the readers could find this small work light bearing on these and related issues.methodology; philosophy of science; values; reason; Islamic; secular; theory of knowledge; revelation; faith; unity of science; economic systems; laws of nature; self-interest;
