Shafiq Fatima Sh'era: chañd bāteñ

Shafiq Fatima Shera is usually considered a difficult poet. This paper purports to study Shafiq Fatima Shera's poetics (structure, form, discourse, and themes) and poetry to establish the fact that despite being as great a poet as some of her contemporaries, her contributions to Urdu nazm were not widely approved due to chauvinism. It will be an attempt to establish her merits as a nazm-writer.

Hastam agar mi ravam

Shafiq Fatima Shera (1937-2012) belonged to the group of trend-setter poets, and she is the one whose poetry has its own thematic structure and style. She didn’t assimilate herself with the modernist trend of her age, neither she opted to be part of any literary movement. Her poetry carved its niche. Shafiq Fatima Shera surpasses many of her contemporaries in the matter of originality of theme and style. Her contributions to Urdu poetry were set aside simply due to the reason that she wrote in a language and diction that was ‘difficult to understand’. Her poetry has the richest and most thoughtful blend of imagery and style. She overshadows her contemporaries in poetic style and imagination. The anthology Silsila -e Mukālamāt carries her important poems. In this article Shafiq Fatima Shera discusses her thought process with respect to her poetry.

Shafiq Fatima Sh'era

The poetry of Shafiq Fatima Shera surpasses many of her contemporaries in the matter of originality of theme and style. Her contributions to Urdu poetry were set aside simply due to the reason that she wrote in a language and diction that was ‘difficult to understand’. But the writers like Fuzail Jafri, Waheed Akhtar, Hameed Nasim, and Mushaf Iqbal Tausifi have argued that deep thoughtful musings in her poetry need to be understood and evaluated honestly. It is argued that Shera has not imbued elements of religion as a fashion. Her poetry has the richest and most thoughtful blend of imagery and style. She overshadows her contemporaries in poetic style and imagination. This research will also construe that she was a far better and more promising poet than most of her male contemporaries.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Efektifitas Fatwa DSN MUI Tentang Islamic Securities Crowdfunding Pada Platform Shafiq

Abstract
The digital technology revolution has driven innovative developments in financing systems, one of which is Islamic Securities Crowdfunding (ISCF), which integrates sharia principles into securities-based crowdfunding schemes. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the fatwa of the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) regarding ISCF on the Shafiq platform. The study uses a juridical-sociological approach with a literature review method, which highlights the applicability of fatwas as unwritten norms in the practice of the Islamic finance industry. The results of the study show that Shafiq has administratively complied with the provisions of the fatwa through the application of musyarakah and mudharabah contracts, the provision of prospectuses, the presence of a DPS, and the curation of halal projects. However, substantively, there are still weaknesses in the form of a lack of clarity in the profit-sharing mechanism, limited risk transparency, minimal ongoing supervision, weak monitoring of fund use, and disharmony between the DSN-MUI fatwa and OJK regulations. Thus, the effectiveness of the fatwa's implementation can be categorized as quite effective in administrative aspects, but not yet optimal in substantive aspects. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen contracts, increase information disclosure, optimize the role of the DPS, and harmonize regulations so that ISCF is legally valid, valid in terms of sharia, and in line with maqashid al-shariah in protecting assets and realizing the economic interests of the people.

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Beyond ‘Masala’: horror and science fiction in contemporary Bollywood
Since the early 1990s, Bollywood has witnessed a significant shift from its traditional ‘formulae’, particularly in terms of formal elements (i.e. narrative, themes, mise-en-scène) in its attempt to reach international audiences. The term Masala, often used to refer to all Bollywood films, has become one of the most popular genres of Bollywood. The ‘angry young man’ era of the 1970s and 1980s has lost its popularity in the last two decades as a self-conscious genre cinema has developed in Bollywood. This change has not only influenced genre conventions but also audience expectations. As a result, genres such as horror and science fiction have gained popularity within India and abroad. Despite changes in form and expectation, the critical discourse on Bollywood has mostly retained its focus on the genres of ‘classical’ Bollywood and its ‘golden era’. These shifts in Bollywood in the new millennium require re-visiting our understanding of this cinema. One of my central arguments is that horror and science fiction have developed through a process of Bollywoodization while the dominant discourse often credits Indianization as the main factor. Bollywoodization, in this case, refers to the transnational cinematic shifts in which genre conventions from other industries are appropriated to a specific Bollywood style. This thesis aims to expand the understanding of genre cinema in Bollywood whilst claiming it as what Tom Ryall has called a ‘cinema of genres’
