SPEECH STYLE USED BY SETO MULYADI IN ISLAMIC DA’WAH
Full text linkSpeech is a fundamental component of human communication, and it is shaped by a multitude of factors, leading to the emergence of various speech styles. Speech style is a type of communicative style that is determined by an intuitive understanding of the levels of familiarity or intimacy between individuals. These variations in speech style can be influenced by cultural, social, and situational factors, which contribute to the richness and diversity of human communication. This study aimed to explore speech style used by Seto Mulyadi Islamic da’wah in Tarawih sermon at Mosque of Gajah Mada University in 2023. Seto Mulyadi is a child psychologist and was the chairman of National Commission for Child Protection of Indonesia who tends to speak in story telling way. This research used qualitative descriptive method as foundation in conducting research. The research data consists of script of Seto Mulyadi's video speech from Youtube. The data analysis process involves four steps: data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. Based on finding, there are frozen style, formal style, consultative style, and casual style occurred in Seto Mulyadi’s utterances. Formal style is the most occurrence speech style in his speech. Furthermore, the personal background of Seto Mulyadi and the recipients of the message also influence variation of his speech style

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis tindak tutur di Twitter mengenai kasus Seto Mulyadi. Tindak tutur di Twitter menarik sangat menarik untuk dikaji. Tindak tutur dibagi menjadi 3 (tiga) kategori yang dikemukakan oleh J.R. Searle (1969) yaitu tindak lokusi, ilokusi, dan perlokus Ketiga kategori tindak tutur tersebut merupakan ranah kajian linguistik, yaitu Pragmatik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu teknik baca, simak, dan catat. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini merupakan model analisis interaktif yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun hasil penelitian ini terdapat 100 data tindak tutur, yang terbagi atas 6 tindak tutur lokusi, 91 tindak tutur ilokusi, dan 3 tindak tutur perlokusi. Tindak tutur ilokusi yang terbagi atas 5 fungsi, yaitu fungsi asertif, direktif, ekspresif, komisif, dan deklaratif yang unsur-unsurnya terpenuhi. Data tindak tutur ilokusi asertif paling banyak ditemukan, yaitu 53 tuturan. Kateori tindak tutur ilokusi komisif merupakan data yang paling sedikit ditemukan yaitu 3 tuturan. Ujaran kebencian dalam penelian ini ditemukan data penghinaan 43, pencemaran nama baik 44, menghasut 11, perlakuan tidak menyenangkan 1, dan memprovokasi 1.

This research describes and analyzes speech acts on Twitter regarding the Seto Mulyadi case. Speech acts on Twitter are very interesting to study. Speech acts are divided into 3 (three) categories proposed by J.R. Searle (1969), namely locution, illocution, and perlocution. The three categories of speech acts are the realm of linguistic studies, namely Pragmatics. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques, namely reading, listening, and recording techniques. The data analysis technique in this research is an interactive analysis model, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are 100 speech act data, which are divided into 6 locutionary speech acts, 91 illocutionary speech acts, and 3 perlocutionary speech acts. Illocutionary speech acts are divided into 5 functions, namely assertive, directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative functions whose elements are fulfilled. Assertive illocutionary speech act data is found the most, namely 53 utterances. The theory of commissive illocutionary speech acts is the least data found, namely 3 utterances. Hate speech in this research was found 43 insults, 44 defamations, 11 incitements, 1 unpleasant treatment, and 1 provocation
ANALISIS WACANA TAYANGAN AUDREY DAN BULLYING PADA CHANNEL YOUTUBE RADITYA DIKA FEATURING SETO MULYADI
Full text linkBullying merupakan tindakan kekerasan pada anak yang masih terus
terjadi hingga saat ini. Perilaku ini masih terjadi karena kurangnya komunikasi
yang baik antara orang tua ataupun guru kepada anak. Pada April 2019 lalu terjadi
kasus bullying yang menjadi perhatian hampir seluruh pengguna media sosial di
Indonesia. Melalui kasus tersebut, salah satu Youtuber ternama Indonesia, Raditya
Dika, mengangkat masalah ini ke salah satu videonya dengan judul “Audrey dan
Bullying” berkolaborasi bersama Seto Mulyadi sebagai pembicara. Video ini
berisi pembahasan tentang bullying secara keseluruhan. Tujuan penelitian ini
untuk mengetahui bagaimana wacana bullying secara keseluruhan. Penelitian ini
menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis wacana kritis. Teknik
pengumpulan data berfokus pada pengamatan video yang dijadikan objek
penelitian. Teknik analisis data disesuaikan dengan analasis wacana Teun A. Van
Dijk yakni analisis teks, kognisi sosial dan konteks sosial. Hasil dari penelitian
ini, ditemukan bahwa kesadaran individu akan masalah bullying masih perlu
ditingkatkan. Masih banyak orang yang tidak peduli akan terjadinya bullying,
masih banyak yang belum mengetahui bahwa terdapat sanksi dan hukuman
kepada orang yang membiarkan perilaku tersebut. Kemudian, ditemukan pula
bahwa perilaku bullying yang timbul pada diri anak, berasal dari lingkungan
tempat anak tersebut tumbuh, datang dari cara berkomunikasi antara orang tua dan
anak itu sendiri. Artinya kehidupan anak di rumah paling berpengaruh dalam
membentuk perilaku anak
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Full text linkWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
