Latest DVCS Results from HERMES
No full textHard exclusive leptoproduction of real photons on nucleons and nuclei, Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS), is one of the theoretically cleanest ways to access Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs). During 1996–2006 the HERMES experiment at DESY, Hamburg, collected data on DVCS utilizing the HERA polarized electron or positron beams with energies of 27.6 GeV, and longitudinally and transversely polarized or unpolarized gas targets (H, D or heavier nuclei). The azimuthal asymmetries measured in the DVCS process allow access to the imaginary and/or real part of certain combinations of GPDs. An overview of the latest HERMES results on DVCS is presented
The Blood of the HIV-Infected Patients Contains κ-IgG, λ-IgG, and Bispecific κλ-IgG, Which Possess DNase and Amylolytic Activity
No full textThough hundreds of thousands of papers are currently being published on HIV/AIDS, only tens of hundreds of them are devoted to the antibodies generated during the disease. Most of these papers discuss antibodies in HIV/AIDS as a diagnostic tool, and some articles describe neutralizing antibodies as a promising treatment. In this paper, we used affinity chromatography and ELISA to isolate natural IgG from the blood of 26 HIV-infected patients. IgG preparations were separated into the subfractions containing different types of light chains, and catalytic activities of subfractions were analyzed. Here, we show for the first time that the blood of HIV patients contains ~20% of bispecific κλ-IgG, presented with all IgG subclasses. Analysis of DNA-hydrolyzing and amylolytic activity show that most IgG preparations and subfractions are catalytically active. Our results expand the possible biological functions of natural IgG in HIV infection
Influence of Sunflower Seed Husks Ash on the Structure Formation and Properties of Cement Concrete
No full textThe limitation of the application of non-renewable materials is one of the solutions to the problem of the sustainable evolution of civilization in the 21st century. Using additional binders in concrete obtained from plant waste will be economically and environmentally beneficial and will also allow us to move closer to achieving sustainable development goals. This study searches for rational composition components and a methodological approach regarding the technological characteristics to get the highest quality elements and prime concrete properties on the basis of sunflower seed husk ash (SSHA). Experimental concrete specimens were manufactured with partial Portland cement substitution with SSHA amounts ranging from 2% to 16% by weight in increments of 2%. This study focuses on investigating the density and workability of the concrete mixture, along with the compressive strength, concrete density, and water absorption. This article used granulometric, microscopic, and X-ray phase analysis methods. Including SSHA in all considered ranges reduces the slump in concrete mixtures. The optimal SSHA content in concrete is up to 12%. An 8% SSHA content has been found to deliver the most favorable mechanical characteristics of the concrete studied. The compressive strength of the investigated concrete has increased by 14.89%, and water absorption has decreased by 15.78%. Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2024-010-05-08 Full Text: PD

No full textСтаття присвячена актуальній проблемі – вивченню значення молодіжного сленгу для сучасної динамічної мовної системи. Проаналізовано погляди різних дослідників на стрімкий вибух сленгової лексики та її проникнення долітературної мови. Основна увага приділяється ролі молодого покоління у продукуванні майбутнього мови. На підтвердження висвітлених у статті думок автор наводить приклади сленгових лексем із сучасної художньої літератури, які перейшли до загального вжитку, що відбито у сучасних тлумачних словниках. У висновках підсумовано результати розвідки й визначено напрями подальших досліджень.

(The article is devoted to the actual problem the study of youth slang value for a modern dynamic language system. Analyzed the views of different researchers on the swift burst of slang vocabulary and its penetration in the literary language. The focus is on the role of young generation in the production of the future language. To confirm the thesis of the research the author gives
examples of slang lexemes of modern fiction literature into the total consumption, which is reflected in the modern explanatory dictionaries. In the conclusions summarized the results of the study and determined the direction of further research.
